Whew, finally caught up! Took awhile to get around to it, but it was all worth it!
Wasn't expecting that little bit of emotional depth from Conquest. I loved it.
Holy crap, Season 4's gonna be doing an original storyline? HYPE

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonIf Mark wasn't there Oliver and Eve die. If Oliver and Eve weren't there Mark die.
I think the blast must have helped a lot. Prior to the blast, Mark wasn't able to hurt Conquest without damaging himself (admittedly the biggest example is Mark's first vs the metal arm); afterwards his headbutts are damaging Conquest's skull.
Mark's fight with Conquest does make me wonder if Mark could take on Nolan in a fair fight now. He's come on a real long way in a short amount of time.
On a different topic I wonder if Nolan misses being an author. Presumably he chose that job and did it at least in part out of joy. And I imagine other Viltrimites wouldn't take much interest in the topic of his writings.
He could definitely put up a better fight even if Nolan is still stronger.
Keep in mind the Conquest fight wasn’t just determined by raw strength. If Conquest had taken the fight as seriously as other Viltrumites take fights he would have won.

If I recall correctly, the blast removed at least a layer of skin, perhaps a bit more. I can see that weakening someone.
Regarding Mark's fist vs. Conquest's metal arm, I do wonder what said arm is made of that it can handle not only the strain of being used to hit things with Viltrumite strength, but further, to handle being punched by a half-Viltrumite (earlier in the fight than the point at which it was broken).

My Games and Asset PacksEven Rex's explosions were enough to stun Mark. Not do damage really, but stun. And a bomb that set a bridge on fire actually killed that Mark.
Though we did see our Mark survive a nuclear missile blowing up in his face and he's still weaker than Nolan and Conquest.

For the nuclear missile do you mean the last fight against the Maulers against the missile base?
Because they replaced the warhead with something more focused to doing EMP than the regular nuke. (and presumably didn't go off properly because mark punched it? It's not been that long and I'm already forgetting this stuff).

Yeah that one
Actually I forgot they even did that. I rewatched the clip of Oliver killing the Maulers and saw Mark unconsciously floating around in space. I'd assumed it was just a regular missile.
business is all good, baby fixed that for you.

That's... actually a really good idea.
I mean, sure—I'm just wondering specifically.
It's presumably not just steel—I don't see even really good steel holding up under those conditions.
So do they have something akin to adamantium/vibranium/etc.? Or is it some high-tech composite/nanomaterial? Did they get hold of some magic? Something else...?
(And to be clear, I'm not expecting that an answer is available. I'm just curious.)
My Games and Asset Packs

That seems to be a weakness unique to Conquest. Other Viltrumites seen so far are ruthless and to the point when subjugating worlds. Conquest is the only one who is openly sadistic.
Conquest for all his strength ultimately lost because he kept dragging the fight out. He wanted his fun instead of just going for the kill asap. Even when Mark surrendered he wouldn’t stop.
