It was...but everyone sort of rendered it Fanon Discontinuity because it sucked compared to the Alan Moore run.
That and Moore’s Supreme was a comic artist who was working on a book called “Omniman” which made things even more confusing.

Well if that's the case then they can't redeem Omni-Man like the comics either, because he murdered thousands and beat his son to a pulp which is worse than what Anissa did. In the comics he also kinda gets a slap on the wrist after boning a Praying Mantis

One of the aspects of the comic I wasn't satisfied with is Annisa getting "redeemed" so to speak, as in, she could still work around the others and Mark, even if he didn't like it, had give her son some pep talk at the end. I hope the adaptation changes this so that she gets more properly punished.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. While Anissa's redemption had issues, Mark's interactions with Marky in the last two issues are honestly pretty heartwarming. It's made very clear that Mark doesn't resent Marky at all and almost immediately starts feeling paternal love for him.
It's also rather amusing that there are hints that Marky turned out to be a much better Invincible than Mark was even though Marky started his superhero career at a much younger age. Unlike Mark who ultimately wasn't really cut out to be a superhero, Marky seems to be a natural.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI've been waiting for a show like Invincible for an incredibly long time. I can't even remember the last time gore wasn't being used for cheap shock values. Would've also appreciated Vultrimites twist more if someone didn't keep bringing up their Saiyan hatred but whatever.
Invincible is one of the best cartoons I've ever seen. Which is why I seriously regret reading the comic right after I was done. Now I'm just hoping not everything is going to be adapted to a T.
Kirkman said he wanted to take this chance to improve it, since he's a more experienced writer now.
I haven't read the comics but I really agree, I love Invincible and how it uses gore. It makes me really pay attention to if civilians are being rescued or not!
My AO3It will be interesting to see what he changes, what he refines, and what he keeps.
We all know there's one moment from the comics that will be on everyone's mind.
I wasn't an avid Invincible reader, but thanks to Scans Daily, I know about it.
And I know I don't have to explain what moment I'm talking about to anyone who's read it either.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm surprised they didn't change it to something like we look like idiots.
Gets the point across, and less offensive.
One Strip! One Strip! If I'm being entirely honest, I didn't find that to be offensive so much as I find it to be cringey. Even factoring in the time it got published.

Actually, that's still kinda broad. There's the whole moment where Mark still found a way to forgive Nolan, discovering he has a brother, & his planet-busting feat, becoming more gray as a character, etc.
I suppose that's some comfort to know. Going off what I've seen in the show, not everything is faithfully adapted but most of it is pretty semantic. Being blunt here, after finishing the comic Invincible does a lot of things that reinforce my problems with comics as a whole. The major difference is, there's no real Statusis Quo for them to do which in turn means a lot of characters are affected happen. But my biggest problem with Invincible was how they handled characters' death & too many times it came across too spontaneous & anti-climatic.
I mean obviously it’s not gonna go exactly like the comic, that much is very, very clear. Not sure how much more that needs to be emphasized.
Darkblood was an actual character this season and not just a joke and hell Black Sampson got more here than he ever did in the comics.
Pretty sure he means the stuff with a certain Viltrumite.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Those are Adaptation Expansion than anything else. For all I know, the characters are still going to die with all the Dropped a Bridge on Him intact. Only the 1st episode tells me otherwise & that was too important to actually change other than to make them look more dignified than anything else.
And it may be a long way from now, but I honestly wouldn't mind if just get rid of that scene altogether. That made me nearly drop the entire series.
Even when the events are fairly similar, they've moved them around in the timeline so they don't always play out exactly the same way.
Cecil being much more directly involved with Mark earlier on is a good example I think.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."
Nope, it's an actual prosthetic. The Scourge Virus temporarily weakened his Healing Factor, meaning he couldn't properly regenerate his hand after it got ripped off by a Rognarr (one of the few creatures that can actually hurt Viltrumites).
This actually plays a part in his first defeat against Mark. Turns out the cybernetics aren't as durable as his actual body, so when Mark and Conquest try to punch each other Mark ends up shattering Conquest's mechanical hand.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI need to re-read it but that feels like that plays downplay Mark's kill over Conquest. He was properly motivated to the point of being bloodlusted after Eve died & beat Conquest to death. Granted, I'm sure Eve helped a lot too after blasting Conquest. I personally thought it could be better, but it was still one of the few awesome moments I was able to enjoy from Invincible. I'm still not entirely sure why Cecil took so long with the help, but whatever.

Wait so this is like an Invincible/Supreme crossover right?

Oh boy yeah they are definitely gonna change some stuff up if they actually do the Annissa thing. Nobody really wants a character like that just....... lightened off after such a horrible act.
