Oh, I fully expect an arc of them dealing with the aftermath. We just start seeing Mark pick up a piece at the end
Curious. Since we've been renewed for two more seasons.
How many would it take to complete the entire saga. All the way up to the final fight with Thragg assuming it's paced like this season.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Kirkman recently stated
he's mapping out for, at least, five to seven seasons.
I should note that the Latin American Spanish dub is quite decent, considering this is the very first high-profile series dubbed in El Salvador, a country which, outside dubbing rather obscure stuff, documentals, and Brickleberry, they are pretty new in the Spanish voice-acting industry and that without going that El Salvador doesn't have a relevant media industry, compared with either Mexico, the U.S, and the South American countries like Venezuela, Colombia, Chile and the like.
For English-speaking readers, that would be the equivalent on dubbing to English in a country like South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago or Jamaica.

I am a bit sad they cut out the Savage Dragon cameos. Mark actually talking with the Dragon at the Guardians funeral and Debbie making friends with Superpatriots wife to have someone to talk to about Nolan.
Like it’s such a weird funny thing for Image comics to have these little cameos from their famous original properties as if they were in a shared universe despite that not really being possible.
I’m currently reading Spawn and there a bunch of references and cameos of Youngbloods and Savage Dragon in the early issues.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Oh right.
Image took a weird approach to the Shared Universe didn't it?
As I understand, these other characters existed in each other's books, but only in relation to that universe.
Like, The Savage Dragon that appears in Invincible's book isn't necessarily the same Savage Dragon that appears in his own book or something like that wasn't it?
There was never any issue about things happening in one book de-railing what happened in another book, because they weren't necessarily the same guys.
I think.
One Strip! One Strip!Oh fuck I never actually read Dragon but I know enough from this site that Savage’s son Malcom Dragon would be able to perfectly relate to Mark’s issues.
Well prolly not everything Mark experienced but a lot since Malcom goes through a lot of similar trials and tribulations Mark went through and also weds the love of his life and has some kids with her.
Though damn could Earth use the likes of Spawn and Dragon. They could handle Viltrumites.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Spawn might be able to handle them, but Savage Dragon can't. Remember, Savage Dragon frequently struggled against even street level super freaks and Overlord. He's no match for a Superman expy.
Note that Emperor Kur needed a deadly biological weapon to pose a threat to humanity. A single Viltrumite otoh is a threat to humanity with nothing but their bare hands.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAnother difference is that Savage Dragon's powers aren't a common characteristic of his entire race. They're unique to his bloodline.
Mark kind of has this too. His father Nolan (and by extension Mark) are descended from the last Viltrumite Emperor Argall. This lineage means that Nolan and Mark are stronger than average even by Viltrumite standards (though Mark takes a long time to reach his full potential). Thragg is still stronger though, since he was literally born and raised to be the strongest Viltrumite.
At the start of the series I'd rank them thus: Thragg > Conquest > Nolan > most other Viltrumites > Mark.

Disgusted, but not surprisedBased on the comics Allen (initially) is presumably somewhere level with a regular Viltrumite given he handled Mark pretty easily but Nolan was pretty dismissive. Battle-beast would be roughly equal with a hypothetical Conquest but until the latter appears in the show properly it's hard to be definite.)
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Allen becomes stronger than the average Viltrumite after coming back from the brink of death, so on par with Nolan. Battle Beast is easily slapped down by Thragg in their first encounter, but in their rematch he is able to fight Thragg for days before he gets his heart ripped out. By that point he was probably close to Thragg but not quite his equal. Conquest however was never shown to be close to Thragg power wise and in fact cowers before him.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIt's complicated by Mark's performance being very dependent on his emotional state. The comics put him through the wringer something awful, so he's not always able to fight at his best. For example, at one point he's become strong enough and mad enough to (barely) defeat Conquest. But later on he's still able to be defeated (and worse) by Anissa due to being in a very bad emotional state at the time. It's not until the end of the comic that he reaches his full potential and works out his issues to become the strongest and greatest leader of the Viltrumites.
Speaking of Anissa, I'm wondering how the animation will handle that if it runs long enough to reach that point.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThey may just avoid it completely. I hope not as the comic version honestly gets a lot right in terms of making it very clear it's a terrible thing and damages Mark badly, but I can see it. Especially as Anissa eventually does repent and make a Heel–Face Turn, but I don't know if that would fly in this day and age given she basically just... Gets away with it apart from feeling bad.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."A lot of the Image characters freely integrated with each other even after they left Image.
There’s actually a story that points out Omni-Man’s power when he fights the Rob Liefeld Supreme thanks to the Erik Larson run (which admittedly sucked) and won. He basically took on an even more blatant Superman Substitue and won.
The Liefeld Supreme was also a complete dickcheese so whatever, I’m glad Omni-Man won, even if Supreme called him out on his hypocrisy.
On that note, I’m saddened Kirkman never got to do his take on Supreme, which was about Liefeld Supreme being forcibly retired and wondering how to deal with the world confining the Jerkass '90s Anti-Hero to history’s dustbin.

That....was some brutal shit.
I gotta say, I'm not sure if I really saw Mark and
DebbieAmber as being back together. Like, I feel more like she's just trying to be there for him after a horrifically traumatic experience. That might just be me though.
