So over 10 years ago or so, we used to have a newsletter called Trope Report, which covers all of the changes that happened on the wiki weekly. I have been nostalgic for it recently so I thought of it and it seemed to be a fun way to inform tropers about the changes going on around the wiki.
The sandbox for the project can be found at Sandbox.Trope Report Dummy Edition and the sandbox for ideas/plans can be found on Sandbox.Trope Report Ideas. After a new issue is published, revert the Dummy Edition back to a template using the text on Sandbox.Trope Report Template.

I don't see any red links in Will Rogers' page. Otherwise, the entries work.
Right; not having any Red Links when we know of several works by him is a violation of the policy; "always link to works even if they don't have a page yet". Then there's pages like The Headless Horseman and Ziegfeld Follies (1945) which do exist but aren't linked because nobody tried to create a list of red links.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Yeah... Sorry if I came across rushing, but we'd go rather far past the deadline otherwise. I think this month, we should have a section dedicated to feedback, maybe link to a poll for readers. Because I'm pretty sure no one actually uses the discussion pages as stated earlier, and we're ending the first year, I believe we could use some feedback to improve and learn what people want.
Some possible questions:
- Which section is your favorite content-wise?
- Which section is your favorite style-wise?
- Is there something you're grateful for us introducing, like a work recommendation or a thread you really like using?
- Do you think it's more important that an issue releases on time or that it's 100% fully checked? How many days into the month are you willing to tolerate?
- Did you like the holiday gimmick? Would you like to see another one next year? What could it be?
- Is there something you particularly want to see? Any new section ideas?

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)
That's a good idea. Do you want to invite them to post in the thread, or leave comments on a sandbox, or PM someone if they want to make them private?
Also, and I mentioned this a couple months back, but making it official: after next month's issue (Dec 2021) I'd like to step down from this project. I'm cutting back online obligations elsewhere as well because I'm trying to wrap up grad school. I'll have that in my opening spiel as well, and a note for readers to join in if they want.
Does anyone want to take over the opening paragraph?
But we started bringing this back around this time last year! Time really flies huh!
I think we should have both a sandbox and Google Forms. The former could help with transparency and see opinions from registered, maybe more experienced users, while the latter could let us see what the unregistered readers not as into inner wiki proceedings think (Wikipedia does use similar surveys, but then again, they have anonymous editors). If the latter is not feasible, I'd probably just use the sandbox.
And alright Synchronicity, take care after this month. It's been a dang good run, but I'm hesitant to take the opening paragraph when I already have two sections.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I'm still in it. I don't have a life to worry about.
Good luck with Grad School, Synch!
If nobody wants to take it full-time, we can always trade off the opening paragraph in the same way we trade off the sponsorships.
And I like the poll idea, Piter. I'm not sure if a G-Doc is feasible here, but the Sandbox should definitely work.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall11th-Hour Superpower is already a contender for the next Image of the Month.
The link at Trope Report directs to a thread that hasn't been active for 6 years, maybe it should point here instead (or the revival segment could have one)?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI think I want to come back to this project now as a regular contributor now that I more or less went back being a regular contributor to the wiki but dunno if there’s any room for me.
Macron's notesWelcome back! We'll need someone to take over writing the intro paragraph starting December, since Synchronicity announced she'll be retiring from the project by then. Since you're the one who suggested this idea, you would be a great fit. In the meantime, see if there's an opening anywhere else, or if anyone needs help for their section.

Agh, sorry for the delay on the grammar check, it's been hectic. But it's done now. Requested swap
.
I’m always watching obscure tropes on Pages Needing Wicks and I think no some that are still unknown but aren’t arriving so I think I can help with that!
and yeah I can try helping with the intro after Synchronicity steps down after Dec.
Macron's notesThis month I definitely want to plug the Copy and Paste Cleanup because the plagiarism issue has been spreading like a goddamn virus. This is one more way to say "hey, stop that".

Plus it's still an issue that people don't realize is an issue. We only got an Administrivia page to specifically focus on plagiarism in June 2021, its main name isn't even explicitly about text plagiarism, we even had other guideline pages encourage plagiarism until recently, and people coming from other wikis don't realize how strict we are about copying descriptions.
So yeah, definitely promote that thread and this policy more.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The thing about plagiarism could be added to How to Create a Work's Page, (and How to Write an Example) as well, and advertized where most people would see it.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI wouldn't say it's "spreading"; it's been a problem for ages and is only recently being properly enforced.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I guess it only feels like it's spreading since so many people have been caught doing it lately. I guess it goes back to the "proper enforcement" thing.

^ Thanks, that was a great start. I've got all three ready for review now, ~Tropers/Synchronicity .
