So over 10 years ago or so, we used to have a newsletter called Trope Report, which covers all of the changes that happened on the wiki weekly. I have been nostalgic for it recently so I thought of it and it seemed to be a fun way to inform tropers about the changes going on around the wiki.
The sandbox for the project can be found at Sandbox.Trope Report Dummy Edition and the sandbox for ideas/plans can be found on Sandbox.Trope Report Ideas. After a new issue is published, revert the Dummy Edition back to a template using the text on Sandbox.Trope Report Template.

As I mentioned, Kill the Brainwashed is a reasonably new trope (launched July 17th) but has an issue with crosswicking — should that be put under New Tropes or Pages Needing Help?
EDIT: Can someone help me take a look at Functional Genre Savvy to see if that's Pages Needing Help (7 on-page examples, 119 wicks, launched 2011 at latest) or if it should be sent to TRS?

they/she/xyr; editor of Minecraft SMPsHere are my write ups. Might add more in the future.
For Works Needing a Page
- Skybound Entertainment is a company founded by The Walking Dead and Invincible writer Robert Kirkman. A subsidiary of Image Comics, they are well-known for publishing several comics like Witch Doctor and the Energon Universe, as well as being involved in television and game development. And yet, despite all of this, there has yet to be a Creator page on this wiki.
For non-English works:
- Magical Librarian Ariana: The Book of Seven Heroes is an Action RPG coming this month for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in Japan. You play as Ariana Virellis, a young librarian working at a Magical Library as she repairs the titular books while finding out what exactly happened to her parents. While no English localization has been announced yet, you can still help the page out.
Edit: grammar
Edit 2: Searching up August birthdays lead me to Jonathan Togo's page. Should I make a write up for him?

Mmm... I'd put the first under New Tropes and send a crosswicking notifier. Not sure on the second.
![]()
I got my trope in earlier. Will add some other stuff tonight.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallHere's my PNH Creator entry:
- August's birthday is Jonathan Togo, an American actor best known for CSI: Miami. However, this was the only thing in his description alongside his marriage and could use more work.
I'll be able to add a new work (I'm working on the page now while I'm out of town, but crosswicking is crap on my current setup). Will keep pulse on IP forum.
I focus on obscure 1990s or graphic Middle Grade Literature novels and dolls. (She or zie, not they.)~Twiddler. We need a grammer check and pin for the July newlestter since we are late.
She/Her | Currently cleaning: N/AAt this point I honestly think instead of waiting for the big grammar check at the end (since that always seems to delay us) we should just be doing general grammar checking throughout the month. And I know these are archives, but if it got pinned and then someone saw a grammar error, I don't think anyone would oppose us making those edits after the fact?
Just looking for ways to streamline things so we fix our current schedule issues.
In any case, I added my entries; a trope (Smoking Gun Control), a work that needs a page (Brew) and then a forum thread I remembered and like.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallFor either New Tropes or Pages Needing Help, depending on whether one can find another trope for the latter:
- One of our more recent recruits, Kill the Brainwashed, has been possessed by a demon and scared off countless other tropes, with only ten brave soldiers being willing to stand by its side through the storm. Perhaps instead of destroying it like its name suggests, we ought to extend more helping hands to banish the demon. With its plethora of on-page examples left unlisted on work pages, performing the Ritual of Crosswicking should resolve this recruit's possession problem. [PNH version]

they/she/xyr; editor of Minecraft SMPsI can get behind putting it in PNH, there's always more new tropes that can go into the other section.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallWould "had a one-hit wonder in 2016" count as obscure enough for Obscure works? I'm thinking of doing an entry for Jon Bellion, but I'm waffing a bit on whether he counts as obscure or not since he had one song get popular, but only one.
Welcome To Ideals' WorldI see ~Twiddler is active again so I figure I'd ping one last time for a grammar check. If they don't respond, we could collaboratively do it perhaps.
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallMostly done.
~Coachpill, what do you mean here by the bolded part?
- July often signifies independence and victory. Though Tamburlaine de-emphasizes the former by showing how much the titular shepherd believes in his rise from banditry, the latter leads to Tamburlaine tragically isolating himself from the citizens of the very places he takes over. With an inspiration in Timur the Lame that is largely refined to the 16th century, the entries on the page can avoid being a victim of the same fate if Tamburlaine's quests are contextualized.
Added my Obscure Work for the page I launched; it doesn't really need tropes, because I got it up to over 50 all by myself.
I'm leaning towards this
◊ for Image of the Month for Genius Serum but will wait until the crowner is called officially.
Took my best guess at the Tamburlaine entry. I'm still not sure what parts of it are trying to say (what does believing in one's rise from banditry have to do with independence?) but that's the best I can do with it.
I'll just declare it done and lock the page, pending further clarification.
Looks like I'm a bit late, but:
I meant "confined to the 16th century", not "refined". Idk if that helps clear things up, but I'm talking about how it fits the typical medieval style.
As for the "independence" thing, that's probably irrelevant. I think I was going to find a way to better tie that in to what I was talking about, but just never got around to it.
Your goateed philistine is sashaying towards us. | 🧱Alright, I'll just leave it as is, then. Already worked around the first thing by just referring to it as a 16-century play (so adding that it fits the style of that period wouldn't be adding much on its own, as you'd expect a 16th-century work to have the stylings of a 16th-century work), and the "independence" thing is too baked into it to remove without rewriting most of it from the ground up.

Launched now.
Twiddler. One grammar check please. You can grammar check the June newsletter another time.
Edit: restarted the sandbox.
