So over 10 years ago or so, we used to have a newsletter called Trope Report, which covers all of the changes that happened on the wiki weekly. I have been nostalgic for it recently so I thought of it and it seemed to be a fun way to inform tropers about the changes going on around the wiki.
The sandbox for the project can be found at Sandbox.Trope Report Dummy Edition and the sandbox for ideas/plans can be found on Sandbox.Trope Report Ideas. After a new issue is published, revert the Dummy Edition back to a template using the text on Sandbox.Trope Report Template.

For Forumwatch, I'm thinking of plugging the Award shows as indexes thread
. Does that sound good?

How's my New Work Page Spotlight entry for Murder for the Modern Girl?
Edited by Cutegirl920fire on Jun 11th 2023 at 1:37:02 AM
CG for shortOkay, here's the draft so far:
- Some popular works over time have branched to other styles of media. For a time, the rockiest transition was porting the work into a video game. The trope itself has attracted examples that lack context, complain, are middling in reception, rely on weblinks, or are actually aversions (which belong on No Problem with Licensed Games, not on a YMMV page). If you want to help, stop by The Problem with "The Problem with Licensed Games"
.

Late
to CG's entry too.
Proposed rough draft for the entry for the thread I mentioned:
- Our award show articles, such as Academy Award For Best Picture, Tony Award Winners, and so on, are currently marked as indexes—meaning you can link to them from the bottom of the page. However, there has been debate as to whether this should continue to be the case—it can lead to certain pages being listed on too many indexes, breaking the page indexing in the process, in addition to possibly being unnecessary. If you'd like to join the debate and offer your thoughts, come on over to the Award shows as indexes
thread in Wiki Talk.
Anything I should change? Is it good?
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallFirst entry done:
- Many people have some sort of dream- whether for wealth, happiness, or any other sort of ideal thing. Most people (hopefully), however, won't kill to achieve these desires. The 2010 film Dream Home deals with one of these outliers, determined to get a place of her own, no matter who dies in the process. The page itself, however, is nothing less than a nightmare, with low or no-context examples, excessive spoilering, and a very stubby description. Who wants to renovate this broken-down page?
Sounds good!
EDIT: If it hasn't been done already, I'm thinking of plugging the ArtFight thread
under the forum spotlight as ArtFight's competition thing
starts every July. Is that cool?

CG for shortPardon me since I'm rather new here. Can this make the cut for a featured work?
- Developed by DreamWorks Interactive and written by Steven Spielberg, Medal of Honor (1999) is the very first entry in the series of the same name. It is best known for popularizing Military and Warfare Video Games, particularly those set in World War II. The game itself has players strapped into the boots of OSS operative Lt. Jimmy Patterson, who must carry out increasingly dangerous missions while Trapped Behind Enemy Lines.
Edit:
Edited as per your request. Personally, I'd be fine with New Work Page Spotlight.
2nd Edit:
Fixed again. I guess I was being too precise here.

"We are gonna sit here and take it! You hear me!? We're gonna take it!"
Looks fine and can be placed in either Old Work Spotlight or New Work Page Spotlight (as the page was made in May of this year) with a mention of the page's creation date in the entry.
However, I may suggest rewriting this sentence "...very first entry in the Medal of Honor series." to "...very first entry in the series of the same name." to remove redundancy?
Edit: Alright, New Work Page it is. Although, I only included the bold in my suggestion so you can see what you need to change easier. It's not supposed to be part of the rewrite.

CG for shortI've been thinking about posting this one, since I made this page not long after I did the first. If this one does get approved as well, I'd also like it to be alongside it's predecessor as a New Work Page.
- Developed immediately following the critical and commercial success of it's predecessor, Medal of Honor: Underground is the second game in the series of the same name. Serving as a Prequel to the first game, players are shown the point-of-view of French Resistance fighter Manon Batiste, who served as the Mission Control for Lt. Jimmy Patterson in the first game's story. Levels include: the German Occupation of France, the fighting in North Africa and Italy, and finally, the Liberation of Paris.

One or the other is enough, I feel like having them both would be redundant.
I notice a lot of works listed on Trope Report Ideas were added by Piter, who hasn't been a part of the team for a while now... should we keep them? Delete them? Move them somewhere else?
How does my entry for the Forum Spotlight sound?

CG for short
Looks good.
Trying to look for ideas for the trope section in Pages Needing Help. Should we look into Magical Guide?
In other news, Shiny Sense, which was featured there ~2 years ago, is now queued up for TRS due to duplicate concerns, so there's that...

Mind if I add this?:
- The 1st of July is Canada Day, and every Canadian is reveling for the celebration with Molson beer, poutine, maple syrup drizzled Tim Horton's and tuning in to ice hockey and lacrosse. With all this revelry and enjoying things without a care, expect less of Canadian politeness that they're stereotypically known about. Careful not to interact with a drunk, Crass Canuck on the way. Launched at the 16th of June, expect more of them once Canada Day rolls in.
If there's a better description for this, let me know. Please and thank you.

ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔
I think that can be expanded to elaborate the rudeness and explain how it subverts the "nice Canadian" stereotype.
Here's my entry for Poking Dead Things with a Stick for New Tropes. Any comments before I post it?
- Oh look, you found a dead body! What are you gonna do about it? How about investigating it? Hmm, but touching a corpse is pretty icky... Better fetch a stick and prod it from a safe distance! Poking Dead Things with a Stick is a common act people do when they encounter carcasses... hopefully it really is dead and not actually sleeping! A common gag with a surprisingly recent launch in May 11, this trope could use some more prodding to not drop dead.

Looking into ideas for projects to cover, should we do The Problem with "The Problem with Licensed Games"
? It's a recently made thread to clean up The Problem with Licensed Games.
