So over 10 years ago or so, we used to have a newsletter called Trope Report, which covers all of the changes that happened on the wiki weekly. I have been nostalgic for it recently so I thought of it and it seemed to be a fun way to inform tropers about the changes going on around the wiki.
The sandbox for the project can be found at Sandbox.Trope Report Dummy Edition and the sandbox for ideas/plans can be found on Sandbox.Trope Report Ideas. After a new issue is published, revert the Dummy Edition back to a template using the text on Sandbox.Trope Report Template.

Okay, I narrowed it down to three pics for Image of the Month:
The one I'll probably go with is Sweet Tooth because I really like the artstyle, and I find the image a character like L chewing a bright and colorful cake funny — but only if I can write something worth a damn despite not having read or watched Death Note.
The other two are Fan Art and Hell Is That Noise because they're classic tropes that we only found a good illustration for recently, but I'm not crazy about either of them.
I've really been showing my bias toward hand-drawn images. Oh well!
We need to start adding the finishing touches. I'll ping ~crazysamaritan for Pages Needing Help and ~Twiddler for our usual grammar check.
Also, have we reached a consensus for The Long Earth yet?
Besides that, the only things missing are the description and the two things I have pending.
I think the Long Earth qualifies if we need more opinions on that.
I don't know what to write for the description. I guess the new rules regarding gendered redirects that was decided on this thread
but besides that nothing worth reporting.
IMO, it doesn't qualify in the slightest. Much too new.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)But weren't trying to fit it in under the basis that it's a fairly obscure work? I don't think there needs to be strict timeline for that.
Macron's notesI'd still argue that allowing for the category to include works which aren't old would make it too broad and go against the description, about how those are "no longer in the zeitgeist". Just treat that category as being for works which are older and obscure.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Didn't we just agree last page
on allowing works that don't fit both, as long as there are also one(s) that do? You said,
And we have one that does. If we add The Long Earth, it'll be 50-50. Which IMO is close enough.
I suppose it does, but 50-50 is half, not a majority (that would even be 50.00001-49.99999, not possible here but still).

Side note, I've added pre-commented entries in the Changelog. When the decisions are made, I will uncomment them (or delete them if the votes are delayed). Is that alright with everyone? Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper Wall
I prefer to write the entries after the decision has been made but if pre-writing is easer, that's fine.
Macron's notes![]()
Oh OK. Somehow I missed that a decision hadn't been made. I apologize.
Yeah probably a good idea in hindsight. I'll delete the pre-commented entries right now.
Screw it. I'm writing an entry. Don't credit me because it's only one, but I will make the math correct.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I don't mind just adding a few words to the The Long Earth writeup that goes something like "While more recent than we typically cover, it's still fairly obscure..." if that fixes the whole "dual coverage" debate.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI see Piterpicher added another entry to Older/Obscure Work Spotlight, so ~Chloe Jessica , you should be good to add yours now.
So, about the project spotlights, maybe I can add the Simpsons cleanup thread to the Trope Report if no one objects.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Or maybe the Ace Atrorney characters cleanup thread would work for this report, since it hasn't been used before.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. The AA clean up thread sounds good to me.
^He said that he doesn't want to be to credited.
Macron's notes

The Long Earth qualifies either way as it only has 113 wicks, as i mentioned previously.
