Mariner: "So, was the Titan as awesome as everybody says?"
Boimler: "Eh, it was a bunch of complex characters thrown into heavily serialized battles which always ended in mind-blowing twists and made me question the basic tenets of my reality. But who cares about that?!?"
Damn. Gauntlet thrown.
I guess Boimler doesn't have the energy for being on DISCO or Picard.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I was not expecting a cameo from "The Infinite Vulcan."

I think this show is rally starting to find its voice. It loves to make references to old shows, and especially focus on all the weird stuff that happens to people in Starfleet. People turned into puppets, transporter clones, a thousand ways to come back from the dead, this is the show that really leans into that angle. Also super glad to see new combinations of characters, because in the past it was always Tendi paired with Rutherford and Boimler paired with Mariner.
Also, prior to today I never thought about mixing Klingons and heavy metal, but now? It seems like the most natural thing in the Alpha Quadrant.

Loved the new episode.
Re: Kirk getting kicked out of the Party
I choose to believe, in absence of other evidence, that the Farragut was a "workhorse" ship of the Federation and Kirk found out that it was every bit as disrespected as Captain Freeman right then. Spock, who was at the party as the Science Officer of the Enterprise, took him out to a bar nearby because he wasn't enjoying himself either. Thus beginning their immortal friendship.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Huh.
So does the ending for this most recent ep strengthen Boimler's Butt-Monkey nature or actually kinda play with it?
On the one hand, his refusal to accept anything less than a perfect score saved the day, but on the other hand.....he got Locutus'ed. That's gonna leave some scars.
Also, there's the fact that, from what I can tell, he was the only person getting a passing score in a test that was straight up rigged anyway. In fact, in a normal test, I be he'd have gotten 100% the first time.
One Strip! One Strip!Shows his passion honestly. He’s already grown beyond his buttmonkey status when he deceived Mariner and manipulates an evil Xbox, and to keep up the charade even punches her when she did something extremely shitty(And also that the evil Xbox’s mind games were clearly getting to her and making her volatile)

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. It's kind of been a running theme for Boimler this season that the same qualities that make him so high strung and easy to make jokes out of also simultaneously make him kind of badass.
He's both childishly fixated on protocol and perfection, and simultaneously really good at his job, and the whole joke with the simulation is all about that.
Anywho, with the last episode I'll admit I'm not sure where the overarching story (such as it is) . I figured they were introducing a main villain with the Klingon captain, up until the point where he died. Likewise, I figured it would end with the Vulcan crewmate and the Klingon crewmate both ending up on the Cerritos together, but I was only half right.
This episode was also kind of funny, in that its effectively a Lower Decks Episode for a show about the Lower Decks. In a situation where the main cast is on forced vacation and not doing much of anything, we instead partially leave them behind to pay attention to what the crews of other ships are doing.

Not sure if anybody else has, but I just found some character concept art: https://lowerdecks.trekcore.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=22
that can be added to the series page.

Here's the trailer:
