You've got to wonder if every TNG guest star is sitting by their phones waiting for Lower Decks to call.
I'l like to see Gomez and the Archimedes again...
Or Ogawa, Lavelle and Taurik for a Lower Decks reunion.
Heck put Taurik and Vorik in the same episode...
We could also get some DS 9 and VOY in there. For DS 9, we already have Visitor, Grodénchik, and Masterson. For VOY, Mc Neill first guest starred as Tom Paris, before he did Nick Locarno.
We haven't gotten any of the big captains yet, closest we got was Will Riker and Captain Pike in the SNW Crossover, but none of the Captains (Pike, Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, Archer) have voiced on the show proper yet.
I'd like to see them revisit Pike somehow. Either in SN Ws or a reciprocal LW Ds crossover episode.
Have Pike and the E-Nil crew get leant again Boimler and Mariner and expect them to geek out and be weird still and actually get flummoxed when they actually competent and in their element this time through.
I think VGR cameos are less likely simply not to step on Prodigy's toes. (Shouldn't Lower Decks be catching up to Prodigy at some point?)
The fact that you abbreviated Voyager to VGR instead of VOY makes Boimler sad.
From what I can gather, in the season finale of Season 3, Shaxs places the date around July 2381, and the first episode was June 2380. Janeway's log on the first episode was March 2384. So it takes about 3 seasons to get through a year, assuming they try to keep the timeframe pacing consistent. If we assume that the time movement remains consistent, Lower Decks won't make it to Prodigy for another 6-7 seasons.
Besides, Prodigy at the moment is only using Janeway and Chakotay. They can bring in others like Kim or Torres.

I think they go with VOY because V'Ger (VGR) is already taken. :p
Not Three Laws compliant.Avery Brooks has officially retired from the role and is semi-retired already. I think it was said too that certain shows have dibs on certain characters, otherwise everyone would be pushing for the big names. Janeway was apparently barred from a cameo in Picard because of Prodigy.
I personally would like more ENT references, the LD/SNW episode referencing those characters as childhood heroes was a nice acknowledgement of legacy. Something that has happened to the franchise is having numerous well developed time periods to drop in and out whenever they want, and even still they have the holodeck. "These are the Voyages..." got a bad rap for a cool idea.
Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils!"These Are the Voyages" would have been a good idea for a show that came after Enterprise. It was a terrible idea for a finale for Enterprise itself. Like, the DS 9 Tribble episode is remembered really fondly and it's actually pretty close to being the same idea because it stays a DS 9 episode and doesn't turn into a random TOS episode that happens to have some DS 9 scenes in it.
Also, Avery Brooks is apparently very weird to interact with these days. He's not even asked for most documentary stuff anymore, he didn't even appear in the DS 9 retrospective one.

Not Three Laws compliant. So I have a question about character ages? The prologue at the academy and the main episode are 13 years apart, right? How old would that make the characters? Like how old would Mariner have been in the opening? What’s the youngest age where one can enroll at the academy?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Assuming you start at the academy at 18 like university it would make Mariner 31.
The TNG "Lower Decks" is a beloved episode in part for shaking up the formula and NOT focusing on the main cast. "These Are The Voyages..." made two primary mistakes: it is the Series Finale and kills off the most universally liked character in the show. But things like Riker and Troi commenting on the comfort factor of the NX-01 and Riker finding inspiration about loyalty was some solid stuff.
A similar episode could have fun with showing a holodeck recreation of historical events and then show what really happened.
Wesley left for the Academy when he was 16 but he missed a couple start dates due to Enterprise scheduling, you could assume most people enroll when they are between 14-20. If Mariner joined at 18, she was a second year cadet in the flashback and 13 years later would put her at around 32. This is Boimler, Tendi and Rutherfords first assignment so they are likely closer to 26, assuming 18 enrollment, 4 year program and four seasons of the show.

Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils!Mariner has Klingon and Ferengi friends, but, after learning she was friends with Sito and knowing how she died, I wonder if Mariner has any resentment towards Cardassians. It also paints that scene where she's on the holodeck breaking out of a Cardassian prison in a new light.
The 4 seasons of Lower Decks is probably 2 years or less. Season 3 was only slightly over a year from the start of the show.
Tendi would probably be the youngest, as she was just assigned to the Cerritos and that was her first station, so that potentially put her in her low 20s by the end.
Boimler would probably be next. The Cerritos is his first ship and he's only been to 5 planets including Earth and Vulcan at the start, but he's been there long enough to know the lay of the ship, and got enough of a reputation that he was up for promotion and station on the Titan.
Rutherford would probably be in his late 20s, since it apparently has been at least 10 years since he received his implant.
And we already have guesses that Mariner is in her low 30s.
"These Are the Voyages" without the dead of Trip could just been one more episode and won't be as hated. As a finale is terrible, not only we don't see the famous Archer speech nor we see the founding of the Federation because the episode expends time on a boring rescue mission against generic pirates (I mean the other shows of the era finales have the crew saving the universe from a time anomaly, ending the Dominon War and defeating the friking Borg and the Enterprise crew just saves Shran's annoying dauthter?), but also they grauitously kill off a well-liked character. Yes, killing characters may work for a finale (Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy) but Star Trek is a very lighthearted franchise people want happy endings. That's why Picard season 3 with all its flaws is seen as the most satisfying finale for the series unlike Nemesis.

So what year was Mariner in in flashback? I assumed from Sito's "you remind me of me as a first year " bit she was in her first year. Someone above mentions they were second year and the fridge page describes her as 'in her junior year' which if my americanese is accurate is the thirdof four years? (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior)
Considering Sito was held back a year and still graduated ahead of Mariner, Mariner had to be at least two years behind Sito.
She has two bars on her collar, which indicates her second year at the academy (Wesley was also second year, Sito third year and Locarno fourth year). Sito's line does suggest she is first year, though it could be a dig at her maintaining newbie excitement.
Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils! Finally caught up on the show, and man - I think this might've been my favorite season of the whole lot. I've really liked the show in the past, but I think this is the first time I've adored every (well, almost every: the plot of "I Have No Bones" felt like a bit of a regression) plot and subplot in every episode the whole way through.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Season 5 will come out this fall. It will be the final season.
Fuck that's a shame and I only just got into it. I hope they at least told them ahead of writing season 5 if would be the last.
Drat. Well, it was good while it lasted. Now let's hope Prodigy gets picked for a third season.
