> As in their exact coordinates? Ask Kif if they can fire up a map of that.
Kif shows you the building the F.f.E.C. indicated on a map. It's two blocks from the building your friends are held, and about seven kilometers from Kif's house. It doesn't indicate what the building looks like on the inside, however.
> "Could the F.f.E.C. person help somehow? That janitor, Neo-something? No-one really pays much attention to janitors, and they should be able to get into lots of places, right? But... do we know how to contact them safely?"
Kif nods slowly. "It's an idea. Having a person on the inside there that is easily overlooked and can go almost anywhere might even be why they recruited them or got them the job in the first place. They might at least be able to help us get in the building. Maybe more. We'll probably have to use the F.f.E.C. as a go-between."
You contact the F.f.E.C. again. They say they'll relay a message, but can't call N'eo'leem'pio (they apparently go by "N'eo") directly or risk blowing their cover.
Kif suggests a trust signal if and when you run into N'eo. (Maybe Kif's read too many human spy novels. Or just enough?) Something only a human would think of. They look at you.
Any ideas for a trust signal? For that matter, ideas on what your message to N'eo should say?

> Tell N'eo which buildings you need to break people out of. Hopefully they can disrupt something in those buildings, maybe cause a power cut or delay communications, so that by the time anyone realises you and your friends have escaped, you've already rescued Kif's family, too. You hope that, with N'eo helping you, you and Kif might be able to split up, Kif going to rescue their family while you save your friends.

>"Red Pill?" Correct response is "Blue Pill."
Excellent. That should help you recognize each other. You add this to your note, that to confirm who you are, one of you will say "Red Pill?" and the other should reply "Blue Pill".

You write in your note which buildings you have to get into and get people out of. Hopefully with N'eo's help you can pull this off quickly enough: although, as for splitting up, you still need Kif to get you into the building where they're holding your friends without raising alarms, because they'll be expecting him to bring you, if you still go the Trojan Prisoner route. But then maybe you can split up.
Are you ready?

> Let's do this!Leerooooooy Jenkinnnns!
> Right before setting out seems like a good time to update the log.
You update the log and check your preparations. You slip some of Kif's knock-out spray, champagne-nanomachine neutralizer, and your EMP blaster into pockets in your clothes. You still have your scalpel too, you notice. Careful with that!
Kif nods that they're ready, and you head out on their moto-scooter toward central Remiska. They park a block away from where your friends are being held. They begin to take out the trick Bintanni 'handcuffs', explaining again how they work and how they're modified. Then Kif holds them out to you. Clearly, they're considering that this could be a sensitive issue. "Are you okay with this?"

> Didn't we already just say "Hell yeah, let's go!"
> "It's fine, Kif."
>"I'm not Chewbacca; I know full well The Plan involves me being handcuffed. But thanks for being concerned."
While Kif flushes an interestingly vivid shade of purple at your reply, you slip on the trick cuffs.
They march you into the building where your friends are being held, and explain that they should be expecting you. The guard nods, somewhat lazily, and takes over. Then they begin to pat you down. I guess they're not so lazy or incompetent. The items you stashed are about to be discovered.
You had noticed there are definitely cameras in the area, and – yes – another guard is entering the lobby.
Kif has their hand near a pocket where they've stashed their own knockout spray and seems about ready to use it on the guard who's patting you down, since Kif knows what you have stashed.
Do you warn Kif off or not – or ask them to do something else? Do you break the handcuff charade and knock the guard out yourself, even though you're being watched by the cameras and the other guard?
OOC: Yes, Ruby stashed some extra neutralizer as requested :)

> To warn Kif, you could try just shaking your head. (Bintanni seem to have different gestures for things like nodding, but Kif seems to understand human gestures.)
You shake your head 'no' at Kif and try to stealthily gesture toward the second guard, but that part is difficult with handcuffs and the first guard looking right at you. Kif does seem to get the message to stop going for the knockout spray and takes their hand away from their pocket, though.
>Try and distract the guard with humor. "Hey, at least buy me dinner first, Buddy...!"
The guard does stop and look at you in a confused way. That might just be because you used English and the guard doesn't understand it. You didn't have time to ask for a translation through your earbuds.
The guard refocuses and is still about to pat you down and discover the things you've stashed on yourself, however. What do you do? How do you fight back – or will you allow yourself to get relieved of the items you've stashed?

The guard finds a tube of lipstick on you, opens it, and twists it up a bit. You object, as if this is your hidden weapon and they're taking away your chance at executing your plan.
They might go back to searching you thoroughly, but it appears this has given Kif some time to think. "That's her medicine! This is all very unnecessary – I searched her before I brought her in."
This finally seems to placate the guard. Kif leaves the building, to go attempt the rescue of their family.
You're marched to a corridor upstairs, beyond a nanotech security screen. On the way, you see one of your shipmates through a window! That makes you stumble in a way that the trick cuffs almost come off. You realize two things: You're going a different way, they're not taking you directly to your shipmates, you're being detained separately; And if you either release the trick cuffs OR they notice the trick nature of the cuffs when they take them off you, which they probably will when they get you where you're going, your charade is up, and you'll have to be prepared for that.
What's your play… do you play along, or break the charade?

>Consider our options.> "This sounds to me like the government is working with the xenophobic group to develop mind control that works on humans! Can you think of anything else it could be, Kif? Either way, I'll need to take some of that nanomachine neutraliser when we sneak in. We need to work on the plan now. Trojan prisoner/fake betrayal, right? So you can convince the government and keep your family safe for longer by 'locking' me in with my friends, and I can neutralise any mind control nanomachines in them. We'll need a bit more than that, but does that sound good so far?" (Secretly plan to take a bit more neutraliser than Kif knows, just in case.)
Kif nods. "That they are working together to develop mind control on humans does seem to make the most logical sense, yes. The implications are disturbing.
As for rescuing your friends – the Trojan prisoner scenario should make it easy to get you in with them with no resistance, the question is getting you all out. We have the human-specific nanomachine neutraliser, your EMP blaster, and we also have my knockout spray that can work on the guards. As long as we can sneak you in without them being confiscated. Perhaps that will be enough.
Now we know where my family is being held, as well. But I am still trying to think of a way to get them out."
Do you have any ideas how to rescue Kif's family?
