Another political talk show from Daily Show alumnus Hasan Minhaj, with a format similar to the likes of John Oliver and Samantha Bee. Full episodes are normally hosted on Sundays via Netflix, but like his aforementioned contemporaries, lengthy segments are posted on YouTube on the following Monday.

At the time of this writing, his show's on "Volume 6", which has covered topics regarding the coronavirus' impact on renters, George Floyd protests, college, and the 2020 US election.

Hasan tackles taxes and why they're so difficult to file and unpopular in the United States. Spoiler alert: tax prep companies and the gutting of the IRS.

[up] The ending skit was honestly well done, especially when Hasan does the appropriate Biting-the-Hand Humor towards his own distributor's tax loopholes. Though it's insane to believe that how long-lasting those council hearing lies messed up the IRS for years to come, along with Intuit proudly claiming how they've kept up with making tax preparation a hassle on a slideshow.

Why is it insane to believe that those lies messed it up? From what I hear, everyone, from a working class to politicians, and especially rich lobbyists, hate the IRS. And if lobbyists hate something, politicians are going to mess it up.

Going through this series right now on Netflix and it just goes to show how awfully fucked up America is right now. And what they've promoted (i.e. land of the free, land of opportunity, etc) is really just a wider propaganda campaign to make themselves one of the major superpowers of the world, and enforce their toxic ideas upon smaller nations.

Ah, I feel for you Americans. Pack a bag and run to Canada, quick!!!

Where's my yummy yummy Porgs.

Welp. Hasan recently announced that Patriot Act is done. It seems like Netflix didn't want to renew it because of viewership concerns or what have you.

[down] Now that's a real shame. I always appreciated Hasan's more "millennial" and South Asian bent to covering topics that his contemporaries usually never get to.

Before stumbling on to this Verge article, I admittedly didn't realize how often Netflix has struggled with these kinds of weekly talk shows.

Hasan, thank you for giving me an excuse to somewhat derail the Sonic thread into a discussion of workplace quality in the video game industry.

Anyway, I hope another network can save you. Maybe truTV can pick up your show, I don't think they have an original talk show.
