Brazil is definitely an interesting setting, I hope we get to see some portuguese in the film. It is also nice to see (what I assume) to be a more contemporary film. I'm also super glad this isn't a sequel!

Bide your time, and Hold out Hope — GANKUTSUOU Just because it's irrational, doesn't mean it's not real.So am I.
I hope I'm not sounding too mean with this joke (^_^;;), but it feels like Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen are like the Disney equivalents of Highlander: "There should only have been one."
Enchanted is called "Encantada" in Brazil. That title is very easy to confuse with Encanto.
Here's an article from Disinsider, which talks about what the name of the characters are and what they're like. It's not direct, but it's what we know so far.
The trailer for Encanto drops tomorrow.

The story synopsis reads thusly:
"Encanto is about a family called the Madrigals, who live in an enchanted town in the mountains of Colombia. Every child but one in their magical house has been granted a unique ability such as strength or healing powers. Mirabel, the only ordinary child, discovers the magic is under threat and she may be the only one able to save it."
From that description, it looks a lot like another general fantasy adventure that uses the setting of X non-traditional location but only vaguely goes into said location culturally or narratively.
And, I mean, Raya was still alright despite that, but that's what caused the whole The Theme Park Version criticism about that film, and I'm starting to get a bit tired of that from Disney.

The poster does in fact feature a capybara.
While I'm all for Disney stretching themselves and breaking formula, there are in fact people who will scream bloody murder if they do. There are those who complain that all Disney makes are princess films, and there are those who complain every time Disney makes a film that isn't a princess film.
To be fair, one thing you learn from studying folklore is that a lot of stories recur across different cultures, with little about them changing except names and set dressing.

Earlier this year
, news broke of Disney's third animated film that will focus on a Latinx Family. With news that Byron Howard and Jared Bush will be directing the movie.
According to some sources, the film is tentatively titled "Encanto"
(could change as Raya and the Last Dragon was originally titled Dragon Empire) and is centered on a young girl and her family in Brazil, who all have magical powers, sadly, the young girl has no powers.
