I think it goes Shaman King > Flowers > Burning Something > Super Star ?
Secret Signature
Actually the dub changed it to Joco.
Both in the dub anime and the translated manga.
By the way, in the sequel series, Hao doesn't get free reign as God. He effectively acts as the face of a bureaucracy made up of his predecessors. He has to get a 5/8 majority vote on any action he wants to take on the mortal world, and they straight up move to oust him after seven years.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireIf nothing else the anime also provided me with an absolute classic of a ps1 fighting game:
I could not understand jack shit but it was my jam. Beat it too, despite the fact Hao was bullshit.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Hot take: the Shaman King english theme isn't very good. Oh, the "SHAMAN KING!" part is great, but the rest of the lyrics are pretty generic and don't fit the series very well.
What are you talking about?
The lyrics fit perfectly.
If your spirit is strong, you can be the one.
And why did Hao win the entire fucking thing? Strongest spirit.
4Kids can see the future.
One Strip! One Strip!Hey, maybe this scene will be included in the reboot (content warning: gore).
such a curious creature
Secret SignatureMan was Faust batshit.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."And then he became the medic of the party! Man, was Shaman King batshit.
It ainβt a shonen until you befriend some maniac who tried to kill you.
Which now that I think about it, somes up most of Yohβs crew pretty well.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."In the anime, iirc, Yoh actually quotes (intentionally or not) the English opening right before finishing off Hao. He says something like "This is what it feels like...To be Shaman King!". So it really fit.
I quite liked it, myself. I do prefer "Over Soul" but the english opening is a banger and I do think it fits ("I can look at the world / In a different light / I know what it takes / To make it right" summarizes the goals of practically every Shaman in the story).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."So, the series is 300 chapters long. Assuming 3 chapters per episode, that works out to 100 episodes, which translates into 7-9 cours, depending on the ratio of 11, 12, and 13-episode cours. I think 3 seasons of 3 cours apiece would be ideal, though 4 seasons of 2 cours could also work.
2 seasons of 4 cours apiece, I feel, would be stretching the quality a little thin, and 1-cour seasons would barely make any progress (there would be an entire season of just them hitchhiking across America to get to the tournament).
Of course, 3 chapters per episode is somewhat high, they might be better off with 2.5 chapters per episode, which works out to 120 episodes, or 2 chapters per episode, which works out to 150 episodes.

Of course, the ideal is for this adaptation to be like Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood or the recent Hunter X Hunter, not like the recent Hakyuu Hoshin Engi or Berserk.
Do you think the original voice actors would return? Or is there a possibility that The Other Darrin might be enforced?
For the Imperium!!!Absolutely not. 3 years ago, the author turned down an offer to reboot Shaman King's anime because it wasn't going to have the same OST and voice actors. They'll probably have some new voice actors and some new songs, but all of the old ones are returning, this series wouldn't be happening if they didn't.
One weird thing I'm finding out about the anime is that it went a completely different direction with the final OS. The anime got up to Yoh's Spirit of Sword, Ryu's Yamato no Orochi, and Faust's Mephisto E Oversouls and then just stopped, claimed those OS were something called a "Giant Oversoul" and then gave completely original (and kinda dumb-looking, IMO) Giant Oversouls to Ren, Horohoro, Chocolove, and Lyserg to put them on the same level as Yoh, Ryu, and Faust and called it a day. The anime also had Hao's OS be a sword near identical to Yoh's Spirit of Sword.
On the flipside, in the manga, it's explicitly stated that giant-size Oversouls kind of suck and have a ton of flaws, they're inefficient and impractical, and it introduced a whole new type called "Armor Oversouls". Yoh, Ryu, and Faust upgraded their Oversouls to White Swan, Sushi Knife Susanoo, and Eliza Operieren. The manga also had Ren, Horohoro, Chocolove, and Lyserg get Armor Oversouls. Hao's Armor OS also looks completely unique, looking like a jet with giant claws and cannons.
No matter what company or region dubs it, we're 100% guaranteed to have Yoh and Len recast as their actors are too big and have long stopped doing anime. Everyone else is up in the air. Looking at the BTVA page, there's at least hope for Tara Sands, Megan Hollingsheed, Sam Riegel, and Michael Sinterniklaas to come back
EDIT: Now I see you meant the JPN cast. Yeah, I'm expecting most of the surviving actors to return after what PMC said. Especially Hayabashira.

"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterI mean, if you're talking about the dub, I wouldn't be surprised if every single one of them was re-cast.
Wait those Oversouls were anime-only?
Oh my God, thats shocking.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I feel like PMC should skip the middleman here and watch the anime. Isn't even that long of a watch (64 20-minute long episodes, like two seasons of a HBO drama) for the man who caught up to One Piece and Hajime no Ippo in less than a century.
I say this partially because I've ended up embarking on a rewatch of the original anime. And boy am I having fun (while PMC will likely try to rip out his own eyeballs).

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Yup, Giant Bason, Ice Giant Kororo, car jaguar Mic, and Morphine wearing all the Archangels were all anime-only.
Jojo, One Piece, and Hajime no Ippo, all in less than a month each. Considering how much I don't like the artstyle, that'll be a no from me, dawg. I can't sit through 64 episodes of that color palette, I'll get sick.

Well it was Worth a shot.
More glorious 00s cheese for me, I suppose.
I'm at the end of Faust's introductory fight, incidentally and all I'd like to say is that Silva is awesome and this entire fucking narrative should be about him. He was my favorite 20 years ago and he's still my favorite now.
Also his name is way cooler in the Brazilian dub ("Asa Prateada"/"Silver Wing", which is technically one of his spirits, but that's just way cooler than Silva which is the Brazilian equivalent of "Smith").
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
I give the anime a lot of credit for how they changed Chocoloves' name and backstory. I can't be the only one who found them very cringy.
