Have an idea for a new trope, but don't know for sure if it's a good idea? Did Trope Finder give you similar concepts, but not exactly what you wanted? Are you just looking for a focus to a broader idea?
You've come to the right place!
On this thread, you can share your ideas with the masses before making that TLP draft, so if there's any lingering uncertainty about the validity of your idea or you just want some help pinning down a good idea, ask away and help others out, too!
A related sandbox I need to pitch is the Trope Idea Salvage Yard. If you've an idea but can't personally work on it, you can add it to the yard and let someone else create the draft. Or you can browse it yourself if you need more draft ideas, whether or not you feel they should be mentioned here first.
Got ideas for non-trope pages you need help with? Never fear, the New Page Workshop Thread
is here!
With that out of the way: Let's discuss some ideas.

- Abuse Indoctrination: Someone who has been in a slave-like relationship for so long, they ignore clear opportunities for doing something for themselves or getting rid of the tormentor.
Not quite, but I don't think it's tropeworthy; not every idiosyncratic fashion choice is notable.
(As for the dress, we have Lady in Red, though it might not be quite what you're looking for.)
I'm not sure how what that woman is wearing wouldn't qualify as gloves tho. They can't be sleeves, her hands are covered.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI don't see a trope here unless it's implying she's rich.

"Not Tropeworthy: Detached Sleeves" from 2015.

Every time a "this side up" sign appears in fiction, it's always upside down, usually to imply that the character responsible for the item's state is careless, illiterate, or just plain dumb. The only problem is that I only know of two examples off the top of my head.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.x8
Those are Opera Gloves, which was deemed not tropeworthy somewhere around 2016
Couple suggestions:
- B Plot Cameo: A character in the A Plot of a story (usually a TV show episode) appears briefly during the B Plot—though usually not as overlap between plot lines and rather just because their plot either ended or they just happened to show up at that moment.
- Character Sequel Reintroduction: A scene in a work's sequel when dramatic attention is drawn to the reintroduction of a major character, usually the protagonist.
Am I doing this right?
The first one confuses me, mostly because in most works I know the A plot and B plot aren't completely separate; the characters still interact, they just have separate stories.
Second seems workable though.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallThe Good Castles, Evil Castles
draft got me wondering if maybe we are missing some supertrope about architecture used for characterization.
Or maybe environments/places in general? Then it can include things like Villainous Badland, Heroic Arcadia.
Those just sound like Aversions or Subversions of Holy Burns Evil and Silver Bullet.
Not sure if it's just a Downplayed All Myths Are True.
Since what's the important difference between How To Spot vs. How To Attack vs. How they spread, etc?

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallDescription First Introduction: A character makes an impression by someone else talking about them or work behind the scenes long before they are introduced, non-visual Early-Bird Cameo
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupHow about Teleportation Rings: Rings or at least similar looking items has teleportation abilities.
BrutalWhat about X Is Peering Through Glasses or something? Be kind of like Sean Connery Is About to Shoot You.
Trope name: You Can Never Have Too Many Bows. Laconic: A character design that consists of a lot of ribbons/bows.
Bows are quite common when it comes to fashion choices. They're cute, expressive and easily tie up loose hairs. They're also aesthetically pleasing to look at. However, some creators take the concept farther than just a hair choice and incorporate them into other parts of the character design.
The end result is a character that looks very frilly, fashionable and well-dressed. This often overlaps with Girlish Pigtails, though it can also overlap with The Fashionista. Subtrope of Opulent Outfits.
Examples Anime & Manga
- Idol Densetsu Eriko tells the tale of a young girl becoming an Idol Singer (and is even based on a Real Life singer), and runs on Costume Porn. Eriko receives several costume changes throughout the course of the series, most of which are cute and pastel-like in contrast to her rival Rei's Dark Feminine, and one of them is an outfit studded by ribbons including all over her skirt and boots, alongside big ones in her hair.
- Smile PreCure!: The Cure's Magical Girl outfits consist of one big ribbon at the chest, two smaller ribbons around the boots and another ribbon on their purses.
- hololive: Ollie is a cute zombie girl who wears a giant black frilly bow on her head, a pair of bows each on her Giant Poofy Sleeves, a gigantic bow at her chest, another bow at the hem of her dress and another bow on her wrist.

Do we actually have "Art-Style Gag"? I could've sworn that we had a trope about "jokes based around the artstyle of a show", usually based around stylized cartoons, like that gag from The Simpsons over the characters wondering where their hairlines start, but do we not actually have it?
Thanks for playing King's Quest V!
