Haiku-Wiki Cleanup

I don't know, a couple of those seem to just be pointing out the show is trippy.

Haiku.Hate Sink does not fit the pattern of a haiku. It doesn't even come close. I don't know if there's a joke in there or somebody just doesn't know the haiku format.

Cut the first example. It was also unsourced.

The same troper also added one to The Incredibles. Maybe they need an explanation of what a haiku is? In the meantime, I'll get rid of it.

Is Haiku.Fat Girl a page that should be kept? That is no longer a trope, just a disambig, and they don't seem related to Film.Fat Girl (page redirects to French title).

I'd cut it.

Pretty sure that's not 5-7-5, more like 4-8-6. Also, it's about a real-life person, which I'm not sure is okay?

I don't know if the subject matter is a problem, but the format failure is reason enough to condemn it imo.

Maybe, but this is English, so that's a bit of a moot point.

Edit: Unless you meant non-Japanese ones, which would make more sense here. But still, if the widely accepted standard for a Haiku is 5-7-5, we should try and stick to it for consistency.

I mean non-Japanese ones. And standards are changing. There's been a trend towards shorter English-language haiku for some time, according to the Haiku Society of America.

Even then, that's not actually shorter. It's the same overall syllable count, but the flow is off.

I cut another clunky non-haiku from Haiku.Hate Sink. It was added by the very same person who added the previous one, ihatehumans. I smell a potential Edit War.

May the cutlist for Two Best Friends Play and Eastern Animation be declined?

They were initially blank, and ~Shadow 8411 sent them to the cutlist, but I have added those pages some entries with the right syllables.

Sorry, the page was blank for so long I thought it would be fine. Also, one entry was removed for not having the 5/7/5 format, while the other was removed the same day as it was added, by the person who added it to begin with (so they probably changed their mind about it).

Done, but a) this isn't the right place for a restoration request and b) it bides well to contest a cut request through the "Challenge" button.

AFAIK the challenge button either doesn't exist anymore or just doesn't work.

It still exists and still works for me at least. I've been using a Python script to spare my hands some of the button mashing there, and it can see the challenges.

Late response, but I just checked and, yeah, not seeing a "challenge" button anywhere. It might only work for mods.

Haiku.CrazyBus is complaining, and it's not even 5-7-5 (it's 4-6-3).

Nice, but the middle line has 6 syllables. It's Ve-ne-zue-la, not Ve-ne-zu-e-la.
