Haiku.Troll Post was brought up before and most of us are fine with it. It's funny. Let it just be funny. No need to take shit so seriously, Guma.
Current Project: The TeamThat troll post 'haiku' certainly trolls my own concerns in this thread. Less than 17-syllables, said Wyldchyld? Here's one with zero.
I love it. Let it stay.
The vast majority of 5-7-5 poems on this wiki will also, by definition, not be haiku. In fact, I'm willing to bet almost all of them won't be.
Here's the thing. Do you want the 'haiku' on this wiki to be real haiku that adhere to the standards set by professional poets, haiku societies and competitions around the world? If you do, then we need to burn the Haiku namespace to the ground and start from scratch. And perhaps obtain some proper expertise in real haiku writing before we even contemplate allowing such a namespace to exist.
Or, we can be what we are: a wiki populated by people who mostly do not, and never will, have professional expertise of writing real haiku, who just want a different way of representing works using a 'haiku' style of poetry to engage in a bit of fun without degenerating into complaining and point-scoring — in which spirit, the troll post 'haiku' finds a perfect home.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. No offence, but...wait. I'm confused. Are you saying the haikus on this website aren't true haikus?
(Don't) take me home. The very short answer is: yes, by definition, there is a difference between a 5-7-5 poem and a haiku.
However, my point is that this 'by definition' argument isn't something we should worry about. This wiki is in line with how Anglophone schools teach haiku; that's okay, and it's also okay to have some fun with that (for example, the troll post haiku).

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.>Normal users cannot restore cut pages.
Pretty sure the autolock system was removed years ago, so the above statement is inaccurate.
Normal users can recreate cut pages, but they can't access the deleted content of cut pages without using outside archives.

Oh, that's what you meant by restore. OK then.
Was wondering if this could be a generic poems namespace so people could post other formats, such as a cinquain.
Rock'n'roll never dies! The mods said no, unfortunately. [1]
The first and last entries on Haiku.American Kirby Is Hardcore are one syllable too man on the second lines. They can easily be fixed, but these Tropers did sign their entries.
EDIT: Many, not man.

The first haiku on Haiku.Gainaxing is fine but the other two have This Troper and are also kinda skeevy. Ok to remove?
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Yes.
Current Project: The TeamSo Haiku.Fetish Fuel exists... Should I cut it?
Rock'n'roll never dies!I asked about that on ATT but work has been a bit mad recently and I didn't catch up with it. I made the error of sending it to cut list because I thought I had the okay to do that, but it turns out my page hasn't been loading properly and I didn't even notice. I've left a message on the discussion page to ask that it not be cut, since I don't know how to recall a cut.
Regarding a reason why I think the Haiku page for Fetish Fuel should be removed is because we're not supposed to list examples. The first three are pretty generic troping in haiku format. They also make for very skeevy reading. I really think they should go.
That said, I think an argument can probably be made that the fourth example reads like a Laconic, and therefore is functioning as a second Laconic for the page.
The problem I want to flag with it is that it falls foul of dialect: depending on English dialect, it has 18 syllables instead of 17. The problematic word is 'rule', which can be two syllables in many English dialects (my own native dialect pronouces it 'roo-ahl', for instance). Do we accommodate these words? I assume so, but I just wanted to flag it to be certain.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.I've never heard of anyone pronouncing "rule" with two syllables before, which leads immediately to my feeling that cutting Haiku examples because they don't work in some dialects is a bad, bad idea.
That's pretty much my observation. I just thought it would be good to clarify it.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. On Banjo-Kazooie, we have these entries:
- Acclaimed platformers
Dead now because of Microsoft
Yooka-Laylee GO! - Banjo-Kazooie
Beloved Franchise of Rare
CURSE YOU, MICROSOFT!
The first one isn't even a proper haiku (the second line has 8 syllables instead of 7), and the second one is just pure complaining. Permission to cut?
You can cut.

Rock'n'roll never dies!Okay:
- Complaining
- Too many syllables on the third line (6)
- Complaining about the main page's Locked Page status; not enough syllables on the first line (4)
- Not enough syllables on the second line (6) or the third line (4)
- Probably okay
- Gushing
- Gushing, but probably okay
2 has a 4-6-5 scheme (or 4-6-6, depending on how you pronounce “savior”).
