I imagine Gin somehow managing to break the rules of the Death Game by kicking that bucket. Maybe it was a minigame and he shouldn't do that.

Fury Bowser dies. Again not rationalizing it as I doubt he'd bother with poisoned drinks when this version of Bowser would just deal with foes himself. I'd say it would make sense for him to mistake a drink for his own as he certainly seems furious enough to not think clearly, but he also seems too focused on just beating Mario once and for all to think about much else.
TNA dies from attempting to skydive but when they open the parachute they end up getting sucked into the engine of an airplane.
