So this is a place for people who are interested in helping out, or getting help with, wick checks. Maybe you just want people to double-check your work before you submit it to the TRS, or maybe you have a big project in mind and can't tackle it on your own. Either way, you've come to the right place!
Remember to check out How to Do a Wick Check for a run down. For the list of current and completed projects, see Wick Check Project.

Re: Courtroom Antic: 46% ZCEs is still pretty horrible IMO.
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI know.
Believe you me, it's going to TRS, and I'm definitely inclined to lump those ZCEs in with the misuse.
Finished Fauxba Fett Wick Check; all the remaining wicks were either Image Source or clean-up sandboxes. (Since there were only ~60 wicks total, all of them were included in the wick check.) There were a total of 4 correct examples; the majority of wicks were either ZCE or superficial role similarities (of the 'this bounty hunter has a mysterious past and wears armor, so they must be a Boba reference!' type).

That's usually what I do.
Anyway ~Orbiting Big big thanks for completing the Fauxba Fett wick check! I had it open, refreshed because I sometimes do that and it was done! Thanks a ton!
I'll draft an OP shortly.

Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallStarted the Polygon Ceiling Wick Check and I'm taking a break right now. How am I doing so far? The issue is complaining and possible duplication with Video Game 3D Leap.

Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallIs there a wick check for Made of Iron already? The description explictly says this:
"This isn't Super-Toughness or Nigh-Invulnerability, where the character is supernaturally protected from harm. This is the ability to shrug off blows that would disintegrate a human body when you technically shouldn't be able to do so. Robots, Mutants, Mages, Ki using Martial Artists, etc. do not count. Having a story-enabled reason for not being a bloody smear immediately takes one out of the running for this trope."
However, most of the uses I see are by far about characters with reasons why they are able resist more damage than a human would. Since there is already Super-Toughness for justified examples, should this just get a clean-up thread instead of a TRS one?
oh hey how are you doing? There's no wick check for it, but checks can be used to justify regular cleanups too, so either way I'd say go for it.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI'd like to bring up this post
from a month ago, which no one responded to. I have selected the 50 pages for the Flagship Franchise Wick Check.

Yep, I recall. I pitched in, but it's one of those where the actual categorization judgement I'm not so confident about, so I didn't feel comfortable doing much beyond my small contribution.
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailNow the Flagship Franchise Wick Check is halfway done. Based on my observations so far, the potholes seem to be fine - it's just the entries which tend to lack context

I'm confused by some of the categorization choices in Common Crossover Wick Check. The check is to see whether the trope is being used objectively or subjectively, but some of the examples in the subjective folder feel objective to me. I'll put them in a folder so this post isn't super long;
- Crossover: Listed as a subtrope with "When two works have a tendency to be crossed over in Fan Fiction.". This is from an index so it should be in Misc.
- FandomSpecificPlot.Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Buffy and Firefly is such a Common Crossover that such stories have their own tropes (and considering the amount of 'Verse slang that pops up in the future-Slayer comic Fray, some fans wonder when Joss is going to declare that world to be Earth-That-Was and get it over with). Simply saying the works get crossed over a lot.
- FandomSpecificPlot.Death Note:
- The Code Geass Crossover, Lelouch vs Light. Expect the entire Royal Family bar the Vi Britannia kids to be Death Noted in the first 4 chapters. Describing a fanfiction trend, not giving any kind of opinion on it.
- That portal network that connects the human world with the Shinigami world is a Common Crossover method. It apparently works for Time Travel and dimensional travel as well. Again, just describing a trend with no opinions given.
- FandomSpecificPlot.Harry Potter: The Veil is actually just a portal to another universe. Fodder for Crossovers. Especially Star Wars crossovers. Same as above.
- The Infernal Devices: This series and The Mortal Instruments don't have a huge crossover file yet, but it's steadily building. Considering the fact that this series is really just a prequel and many characters are either ancestors of characters in The Mortal Instruments or present in both series (such as Magnus Bane and various vampires), it's not surprising. This should probably be in Misuse because the works are in a Shared Universe, but it's still talking about how many have crossovers been written rather than how well the troper thinks the works fit each other.
Am I missing something?

Will finish up The Tetris Effect's check later on.
7 to go. Haven't sorted the Bungo Stray Dogs one due to the main bullet having a very substantial grammar issue at the start. I'll likely put it in Other. [Edit: It's clear enough that it's a non-VG reaction]
I won't worry too much if the VG/other balance is off by a few wicks.

~Berrenta wooo, wick check done! Did you end up reaching the same conclusion you anticipated when you started the check?
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker Mail~loserswithwifi - whoops, completely forgot I made that. I forget if I or someone else checked those wicks, but the reason they're in subjective instead of objective is because they were describing fan works, not canon.

I'm considering giving Watch It for the Meme a check.
The current definition and name are clear, but that's not stopping people from adding "any meme from a work even if the work is popular and well regarded outside of memes".
Alternatively maybe I'll just make a short term cleanup, as the current definition and name are pretty clear imo.
"Grandmaster Combat, son!"

I specifically went on there just to see if Morbius was there, but the fact I had to pass by Pulp Fiction, Titanic (1997), and freaking Lord of the Rings to find it shows... a lot of issues.

"Grandmaster Combat, son!"This 100% looks like it'd be a fun wick check to pitch in for ngl and also belated but, anytime, Berrenta, it was really fun helping out with Tetris!
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailWeeeeeeellllllll... I ended up leaving most of the ones I picked out uncategorized for fear I was miscategorizing them. Oops.
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailFinally finished Would Hit A Girl Wick Check. I would appreciate a second opinion given the number of ambiguous cases, but given that almost a third of the examples are clearly just "thing that happens" rather than anything of narrative note, I'd say my hypothesis is confirmed and Would Hit a Girl is definitely in need of some TRS work.
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.

Finished off Absolute Cleavage Wick Check. Haven't done the percentages but it's mostly ZCEs.
