Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessEssentially, My prediction is that Filk Song's primaly problem is that it cannot decide what it's describing, based on how old the article is, and how its use varies on the site. I decided to sort the examples by whether they fit the classic or modern definition of the term, but the primary issue I have is that you cannot really tell which is which. As many on this site keep telling me, Filk (in this website's context) doesn't have a style, common tropes, or fandom-specific conventions, and yet the article's description and content keeps insisting it does. Most of the new on-page examples are not given much context other than "This artists makes music based on this and that show/video game/movie/etc.", and most of these are placed in the "Somewhere in between" folder, which doesn't say much. I'm worried that the wicks have the exact same issue, and I don't know how to properly sift them based on that.

Sort them based on the context you’re getting, not the categories you’re hoping to find.

To recap of the instructions just in case: You need to at least copy the mentions of Filk Song from 50 random (use a randomizer tool) pages from this list
to Sandbox.Filk Song Wick Check.
How you sort/categorize them to show the statistics of uses is up to you (classic and modern defenitions?), it will be easier to think about it when you get the examples first. If you can't tell where to put them, make a separate "ZCE/can't tell which" category, this can also be used as an argument.

Right. Sometimes you don't need to have specific categories- those usually work best for tropes where you already have an idea of what sort of misuse it gets, and even then you'll see people add new folders all the time. If you get all your examples first (say by randomizing the list and taking the first fifty ones you get), then you can add comments about their usage and find patterns afterward.

So I did a wick check of Share Phrase at Sandbox.Share Phrase Wick Check, but I'm not...sure the results really mean much of anything. Thoughts? It's a ZCE magnet, but it's a catchphrase trope, so that's almost expected.

Uh, jeez, IDK man. XD I used an online calculator. I don't think we should keep adding wicks once the limit is reached because it can get confusing.
