Does Not Illustrate: Incompatible Orientation

Without the caption, the image doesn't illustrate the trope. It just seems like a group cuddle or, at most, they're staring at one character being affectionate.

I can see what you're getting at, but the overall arrangement and the caption pair well enough to get the trope across for me, so I'm voting Keep Until Better Image Suggested.

I vote to pull. The image relies way too much on the caption. I can't think of a way to illustrate it efficiently.

I think the caption helps clarify that they're gay or straight but the image isn't heavily leaning on the caption, imo. We actually could probably replace the caption, tbh.

Pull. Even looking at their facial expressions, it comes off more as an awkward group cuddle than any sort of romantic attraction.

I think the current pic works, and I like how it's a nesting doll of incompatibility, even though it is caption reliant at least the first pair (Lesbian > straight woman) seems apparent.

Just putting these out there:

Marvel 1602 has Angel and Scott◊ fight over Jean's affections... but Angel believed Jean was a man thanks to her crossdressing. This panel later◊ spells out he was in love with "Him".

Maybe the best I found, from RocknRolla, Handsome Bob comes out to One Two◊, and that he's crushing on him (the character in the last panel). I think the last panel's weak/disbelieving smile might be misleading, so I swapped it out with a later shot of a frown when One Two saw how distraught Handsome Bob got after he yelled at him over it.

Yeah, maybe either of them could work. Very tenative to the second, awaiting better suggestions.

May work. Moving my to it for now, again awaiting more responses.

14.2 is the best suggestion so far.

Panel 2 and 4 from 14.1. Too many panels would just make it more tedious to understand.

Fair point, but I don't know if it works better with another rebuffing panel. (EDIT: I trimmed the 2nd one. These can be downsized later on.)

18.2, but maybe shrink it down a bit.

Downsizing isn't a problem; it's more for the proof of concept.

I dunno, I think I like the setup in 14 better.
