If it comes down to it, we ask. It's usually quite obvious from the posting style, though. If an RP article is edited by its players, they will be the only ones editing (for the most part), they will add lots of unsourced and zero-context examples, and the YMMV subpage and related will be filled by inside jokes and commentary that could only be known to the players. They'll refer to their own names rather than their characters... it's not hard.
There may be exceptions, but one can look at an RP article that violates our rules in general and trace it back to being written by its players with a fair degree of reliability.
