Not sure I get it. Are you asking if a YMMV trope can be used in the description of a variation on a Playing With article? Do you have a specific example of one you'd like to add?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yes, I am asking if a YMMV trope can be used in the description of a variation on a Playing With article. :)
Do you have a specific example you'd like to add?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Nope. It's just in general.
Strictly limited to YMMV tropes that say "Please don't list this on a work's page as a trope. Examples can go on the work's YMMV tab".
Well, I cannot issue a blanket exception on such a vague question.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Fair enough.
Do you mean something like Fetish Fuel? That's one of those articles that eventually embarrassed us all, and I'm pretty sure it's a YMMV article that we don't want to use, generally speaking.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyYep; that's a trope that falls under the category I mentioned.
I had a feeling YMMV tropes in the "Playing with" section was a nope; Just need to make sure.
In general, ymmv is an observation about the general reactions by the audience, so if an audience reaction qualifies for a ymmv trope there is already an assumption that it may not universally apply or subject to interpretation outside the context of the work.
All that said, some ymmv tropes are on the edge of being objective if it wasn't for difficulty with editors, as well as the meta In-Universe use of normally ymmv tropes. In theory those kind of tropes may be able to be played with, but that's the exception and not the rule.
So I'm well aware there can be no "Playing With" pages for a YMMV trope. But can a YMMV trope be used in a "Playing with" page? Like, if I wanted to do [[ YMMV trope example ]] for one of the examples, is that against policy too?
