Basically, if it's not broke...don't fix it.
We can definitely go and make sure the wicks are pointing to the correct tropes, but there's genuinely no issue with the on-page examples.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall
So it lacks the problems or objective misuse that prevents other Flame Bait form having on page examples. That answers the question I started this thread over. I'd be find ending it saying there's not enough issue to change anything.
So just deal with suspect Character Derailment examples by taking to cleanups on a case by case basis, right?
One last question. How are fan works derailing canon characterization different than Adaptation Personality Change?

I'm a little late in saying this (I blame being sick), but Internet Backdraft has an index on it, which might be why Snark Bait was mistaken for an index.
As for Snark Bait allowing on-page examples, that was proposed, but the consensus was in favor of making it a definition-only page instead.

I got a rock for Halloween.I'll be honest, I put Snark Bait on the list without checking because I just assumed it still had examples. That's really all that happened there.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallAlso another Flame Bait page that allows on-page examples is Narm.Fan Works. I also support removing the CharacterDerailment.Fanfic subpage, as there's already Draco in Leather Pants and Ron the Death Eater, several examples violate Examples Are Not General, and it's out-of-canon, anyway. At least remove the examples that are already Flanderization.

Rock'n'roll never dies!So FWIW the page is on Flame Bait but isn't indexed as such for some reason.
I know this thread is leaning towards "do nothing" but I thought it should be mentioned.
What do you mean it's "not indexed as Flame Bait"? It definitely is.
Edit: Never mind this post. Misread the post above WarJay's most recent post.

I got a rock for Halloween.

Since the wick check showed that CD is used to refer to other, more specific changes in characters that are often controversial, and it's already an index for those tropes, maybe CD can be relegated to a no-examples index?

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
