Needs Help: Absurdly Short Level

This◊ from Super Mario World was initially suggested, caption "I found a secret level! Wow, it's two whole screens."

Second take◊, indicating Mario's start position and the screens.

Third take◊, without Mario and the explanatory overlays.

Thoughts? I think I like the third one best.

I like 1.3 best, too.

Are 1.1 and 1.3 swapped? 1.1 doesn't have Mario while 1.3 does.

I like 1.3 best. Mario’s size gives a sense of scale without having to use explanatory overlays.

Would it help to show two actual game screens next to each other, to indicate the scale (instead of a level map that you'd only see in an editor)?

An actual screen looks like this◊. For starters, it's much less tall than the editor window.

If we put two screens side-by-side, we'd have two Marios and all the UI elements twice, which would be redundant.

Right, this is fine. The level is very obviously short. Why does it matter that it's not an actual game-screen?

The image is already really zoomed out. I don't see how adding a comparison shot would help the picture look better.

I'll go with no caption.

The caption is meh, but it does need to point out that the level is only two screens wide, because that's not obvious from the screenshot.

(the whole level is about five screens, since it's also 2.5 screens tall).

Come to think of it:

This is not even the smallest level in that game. This one, is◊. It's only a single screen (yes, what is shown is the whole level) instead of five.
