Actually, is 1.2 even this trope? That's not fire but a bubble jet, so it looks like the diver set this shot up as a prank. So it might look funny, but it's actually fully plausible (although I am confused about how they did the wood).
Personally I say keep the Spongebob picture. Patrick the starfish should be enough evidence to suggest they're underwater, especially with the caption. And given the popularity and long-running nature of the series, it seems like a nitpick to replace it.

8 is probably the best, as, I mean... they're Jellyfish, so obviously they're underwater.
9 is too much of a shop for me to be comfortable using it.

Gonna have to say 8 for this one. It's still Spongebob, sure, but at least it's better at illustrating the trope than the original image.

8. The smoke does it for me, plus the humor of the jellyfish presumably dancing around the fire. In addition to the fact they're jellyfish, I feel like there's a lot of water or underwater imagery in 8. It works.
