"Finally! SOME ACTION!"
Selago runs to Thorson, drawing his sword, and watching the forest behind Thorson. "Don't worry, I'm covering for you." He looks at the teenage trio. "Bowgirl, stay behind your friends. Get to higher ground if you can, but keep as big a field of sight as possible. You two others, stay alert. They could be anywhere. Anyone else want orders?"

Allora would grab her bow, readying an arrow. She'd notice Hackett hanging down from her hair and gently tuck him back in with a single finger. "Hold tight, Hackett. This'll probably be a bumpy ride."
Rosalia would groan. "Blondie, just run. Eldritch abominations are pretty damn powerful, and even if you think you're strong, it's probably stronger."
"All of you, just go. This place isn't safe."
"I refuse!" Lisandra then runs off into the forest, in search of the abomination.
Fern begins to panic " Eldritch abomination?! Why is it here? " They run around, potion in hand, before drinking from it, and feeling calmer. The child takes a potion from their robe and some chalk and begins drawing on the floor
Selago looks at the remaining adventurers. "Advance slowly and know your limits. Ranged attackers at the back, everyone else at the front. Don't worry - I'll come with you."
What do you need from me? I have nothing but my bare fists on me.
Jester asks Selago (after he'd have blanked out for a while with the rush of information being taken in.)
"Then you stay behind and leave this to the experienced ones."
Rosa would head behind Allora, who had jumped into the trees with her bow readied.
"I agree. If you can't fight, stay behind. Go back to the town if you want to."
Fern looks up "Summons and potion throwing is ranged right?"
"I'll assume so. I don't know your capabilities yet, so you can go up front if you want to."
Fern looks a bit scared, but shakes it off as they complete drawing the circle on the floor. They pour some of the potion and chant as the summoning circle begins to glow, before a flash of light and.. A giant golem appears!
Fern looks amazed " It worked? It worked!" They celebrate for a bit before the golem lifts then to its shoulder and takes long strides to the front
Alright, fine. I'll keep out of the way. Once you all do what you're doing here you need to hook me up with some kind of weapon to defend myself.
Readying his weapons
"Come on! I don't have all day!"

"Alright, let's go!" Selago starts going deeper into the forest.
A wicked laugh would echo from a nearby shadow as red eyes would flare. Shadow-mistress Kotone would appear with dark purple mist shrouding most of her seemingly elegant humanoid form. She seemed to be dressed in dark red and rose-gold robes and she seemed to have bronze and tanned skin, as well as symmetrical straight black hair with a slightly Asian appearance.
"Stand right there. I'm aiming." Kotone sneers as she throws a shadow and the shadow would consume a nearby tree with ease, before being absorbed into her form, as though it wasn't there in the first place. "My main spell expertise is that I absorbed the essence of living beings into my own Living Shadow, as its main food source. Then, my parasitical shadow expands that energy to keep itself alive and grow even stronger over time..."

"I think you should bring out your weapon!"
"I think you're right."
(The girls bring our their weapons, Honoka has her sword, Kotori has a magic wand, and Umi has, well, a bow and aroow)
Oddly, at the moment Kotone comes into the party's view, the taller trees directly behind the eldritch monstrosity give a strange rustling—far too noisy to be any sort of normal wildlife.
Just as she sucks the rest of the foliage into her shadows, a humanoid figure falls from the branches above with an enthusiastic battlecry.
"HAAAH, take this, you slippery bastard!"
As it gets closer, the attacker appears to be a young man in Eastern ceremonial garb (wielding a quarterstaff, no less). If all goes well, he'd land the hit and attempt to land directly on Kotone's shoulders, as if she were some kind of bucking bronco.
Kotone's shadow rears at the man and attempts to absorb the assailant, which it soon does, as Kotone already sensed the man's presence. She nods as the man soon gets suctioned directly into her shadow. Meanwhile, the man would soon land in a pitch-black and organic environment within the shadow's depths...
Clay starts preparing a energy spell.
Darkness inundates my mind. The Goddess powers my kind. The moon, at her peak, the crow’s beak is. ENERGY BLAST!
"Dammit, not agaaaaain..."
He slings the quarterstaff back on his waist with a sigh. "Guess my cloaking still needs a bit more practise?"
Looking curiously at the disgusting organs surrounding the shadow's pocket realm, he gives some of the matter an experimental kick.
Kotone does feel it, along with her shadow, but she smirks, "The shadows are a part of my body, comprising my innards." she glances down at her transparent left hand, "But I expended a little too much shadow for now..." Bubbling black tar and bright neon-blue bile would surround the man inside the shadow's Pocket Dimension, as a stray and steady heartbeat would be heard, and a thunderous guttural roar... The shadow was hungry, and hunting...

Has anyone ever told this thing not to go around spouting its plans to everyone it meets? he muses to himself.
He makes his way over to the source of the heartbeat, careful enough not to trip on his way (yes I know it's pitch black but racial bonus hijinks shush), and eventually pauses in front of its source.
Concentrating a mass of ki into his left hand, the boy can't help but smirk with satisfaction a little...as he strikes the massive organ in a flurry of blows.
Kotone's shadow shudders and doubles on itself, thrashing wildly, but the shadow learns to adjust and resumes rippling along the surface of the land like a Land Shark. It roars and redoubles its efforts in attacking and absorbing everything in its direct path! A levitating Kotone keeps her shadow steady, she definitely trying not to over-exert her mana as she concentrates more.
