It wasn't that long ago Galdra was freaking out over fighting their first enemy, and now he was suggesting fighting more, after seeing someone get vaporized? Maaris briefly wondered whether he was the type that was too selfless, or if he was just too naive.// In a way that kind of concern could be admirable, but this was no time to be a martyr when for all they knew the reason they were in prison was for being from another world or for being the wrong species.

"Yeah... But the only thing I've got in my quest log or whatever is 'Escape', and those kind of plot quests tend to have either bosses or hordes you can't beat without being over leveled or cheesing it somehow" She put a hand on Galdra's shoulder "Come on, we can't save anyone if we die here"

-The Maaris is suddenly picked up, all bridal style like-

"We run. Haste (1s)"

-And there is now a smoke outline of where Runi was.-

-He's spamming Haste on his way to the gate, yes-

Even more proof to Lana's theory this was some kind of a dream then: this was the sort of stupid shit a dream would put on her. Maybe.

"Right, we can come back for survivors in the wreckage anyway!" She replied, and started booking it for the exit. A long quilted dress wasn't the best for it, but she could get practical clothes, or at the very least some pants, in the next town over or whatever.

Raykbay - escape alley

"Eh?"

Maaris blinks in surprise when she's suddenly scooped up and squeaks when Runi takes off in a hasted run. While she's still holding Galdra's robe.

"Runi, what are you doing?! I can run just fine you know!"

She accidentally yanks Galdra in the process of wrapping her arm around Runi's neck and curling up to prevent leaving part of herself behind, her gelatinous body jiggling in the half elf's arms as it's shaken.

The catboy had been daydreaming after Maaris put a hand on his shoulder. "Oh shit." He thinks. "I miss my friends."

Galdra had no idea what brought up this memory. Perhaps that shoulder touch- "HURK" He gagged as the scarf basically grappled his neck because he was suddenly yoinked by Maaris, the whiplash also catching him off guard. He landed under her arms... while also being carried by Runi.

Runi:Yeah, but I'm faster Haste (1s) and you're literally the easiest and lightest Haste (1s) one he-GUHWAGH!"

-Runi's explanation is cut short by the sudden addition of cat weight slows his hasted run to a hasted speed waddle-

"WHAT THE HASTE (1S) HELL ARE YOU HASTE (1S) DOING YOU DAMN HASTE (1S) CAAAAAAT?!"

Aoife – Raykbay Surface

“Wait– whoa! Guys, wait up!” Aoife called, caught off-guard by the pace of the others as they collectively broke out into a sprint. Her attempts to catch up to them were lackluster, but she was at least keeping up—and she hoped whatever glitch she'd get would help her with her speed.

Though it'd more likely be something that'd make her run slower.

God I should've worked out more... feeling the burn already... how is that even possible?

Galdras ears perked up at a couple of things. Well, more than a couple, if being more specific. He gave a sly grin and chuckled, however.

"My my, Nuri-ya." He said as he put his claws up to his mouth, as if almost trying to covet his grin. His tail wiggles back and forth. "Ever heard of a term called being polite to your guests~? And after aaaaa...."

His words were cut short as soon as he realized that something bouncy was sliming his face. His expression was now... blank. His tail, stood up. And a blush streaked across his face. He dared not to look at what the true source could possibly be, and simply kept his lips pursed as sweat began to build up on his face.

Raykbay escape route

Maaris froze as she realized the neck she had grabbed wasn't Runi's, but Galdra's. The surprise and impact of his landing on her was enough to shove the front of her tanktop into her body, she only had a few moments to register how weird it was for something to pass through her 'skin' before the awkwardness of Galdra's positioning and the fact his face was also starting to sink into her warm gel caused her to blush intensely.

"Ah, nu!" She started to shove him off before realizing that'd probably trip Runi and pulling him back against her now somewhat more solid form. "Damnit, don't get used to this!"

"So warm..." Galdra thought.

He was lost in his own mind for quite a few seconds, trying to piece together what else just happened. By the time Maaris' words reached his ears and into his brain, the only words he could say were a muttered, "Mhm." along with a nod at the same time. His reaction was somewhat late by a few seconds, as Runi was carrying the two along.

As the group runs, closing in on the town gate, it can be noted that those Frames that successfully dispatch their townsfolk foes stare up at the sky and vanish in a soft burst of light. Above the running heroes, the storm of stars spins and glows and emits a dull whine that gets higher and higher pitched as everyone reaches the gate. There is just enough time to get clear of the gate and turn to watch what happens next.

The words 'we can come back for survivors in the wreckage anyway' resonate just faintly as a beam of pale-blue light bursts from the storm and covers the entire town, walls and all. And then, all so suddenly, the storm and the wide pillar of light vanish leaving behind naught but a perfect flat circle of some kind of polished black glass where the town once was.

There is a faint feeling of purpose to the north where just on the horizon is the light of city spires, but for the first time since the party had awoken in the jail it feels like the world is open to you.

Aoife – Astratamere

Thankfully due to Runi being so heavily weighed down by his other companions, Aoife was eventually able to catch up—though not without her losing her breath by the end of it.

“Hoooooly hell,” Aoife gasped, staggering to a halt as she stared in shock at the looming towers in the distance. “We made it out? Holy crap we made it out...!”

Her awe was cut short a few moments afterwards as her brain caught up with the fate of the town behind them, and while now aware of its false state and the fact that it had been the one to imprison them she couldn't help but feel a little guilty for some reason. A feeling that reached her face as a small frown, despite her knowing that it probably wasn't warranted.

“...Aside from that, you guys get the feeling we did it wrong?” she asked, frown persisting a moment before she sighed and shook her head. “Ugh... nevermind. Doesn't really matter now anyway. Guess we're going to that... giant, obvious city thing?”

She blinked at the sight of it, not quite able to comprehend the full scale of the thing.

“...You guys all good? Not hurt or anything?” she then queried. “Don't know about you but I could reaaally sit down right now... christ...”

Evidently she wasn't as athletic as her otherwise lithe elven form would suggest. A fact even she seemed to be somewhat ashamed of.

-The buff spell runs out the moment Runi and co waddle out of town.-

-Normally, it'd be a fairly slow and relatively easy transition to normal speed-

-Also normally, there aren't rocks in the way either-

-But such is life-

"Fu-"

-Runi trips on said rock and is propelled forward, Slime, Cat, and all, just as the town is destroyed-

-Nonetheless, he gives Aoife a weak thumbs up from his spot in the dirt-

"Hooray fer not being annihilated."

Galdra was completely caught in a trance by the beautiful array of scenery that unfolded before his eyes, mentally taking snapshots of everything that happened. Amongst accidentally going against Maaris' wishes.

He was caught in a daydream, suddenly unable to focus on anything that had happened as he found himself flying through the air, apparently launched off of Runi. He closed his eyes shut, braced for impact and landed perfectly. On all fours. The catboy himself looked shocked at the amazing stunt he pulled subconsciously. He gave Aofie a nod as his expression was that of amazement.

Maaris secretly hoped one of those robots would come after them just so her letting Galdra just, snuggle like that wouldn't get noticed by the others. But a bit of embarrassment was still preferably to potentially killing him by acting like an easily offended anime girl in this situation.
She almost immediately regretted it when the down disappeared.

"Wah-!"

And suddenly they went tumbling.
Galdra's impressive landing didn't give him enough distance from Runi's exhausted stumble, and the pair bowled him over before coming to a rest in the grass.

"Ugh... That was unpleasant..."

It took a few moments before the shock of the disaster and her dizzyness wore off enough for Maaris to realize that she had accidentally engulfed the boys, leaving most of her body unformed besides her head.

"Eep! Uh... Oh man... Sorry..."

Maaris tries to push them out or otherwise get off them, but after being squished out of shape she only manages to wriggle helplessly while she tries to figure out how to make her body work without the obvious limbs she's used to. Fortunately they could at least breathe.

"Hoo! Fuck!" Lana hadn't run like that in ages and it was honestly kind of exhilarating to have that much freedom and mobility. She turned around as the noise kept going to find the town... just sort of UFO'ing away. "Fuck!" She said again, and looked around at the goobers laying before her.

"I wanna um," She leaned forward onto her knees and took a second to catch her breath. "I wanna suggest we find someplace to make camp, not thinking about the city over there at all for awhile. Ugh, god." Lana's grabbing found her spear and she propped herself up on that instead. "And if we can find a smaller town first I'd like to get some supplies there instead of going to the big city as our first stop."

Aoife – Astratamere

“Makes sense,” Aoife responded to Lana, giving Runi a flat look as he skidded into view before deploying her discus and casting yet another localised green light over both him and the others. She noted the more significant drain she felt this time, and guessed that she was beginning to run out of mana by this point. “I'd uh... yeah, I agree. Going to a town is probably a little easier to handle than... Metropolis over there. And you're right. We should probably camp first as well...”

She glanced over to where Maaris was... struggling, and promptly pinched the bridge of her nose with a sigh. She doubted she had any spells to save her dignity, let alone the others.

“...Well when you guys are done I guess we'll get going,” she muttered, again deploying her discus in order to look over it. A little scuffed, but otherwise seemed to be functioning fine. “I'll have to figure out what else I can do. Think they have books on this crap here?”

Galdra didn't pay attention to when he suddenly crashed into more people, and ended up getting goo'd by Maaris once again. "EEEE!" He shrieked as the impact was made. He noted that this time, however, most of his vision was blue. Most of his body was also encased in the blue.

He looked behind him and saw Runi as well, but quickly dismissed him as he struggled free from Maaris' body by grasping and dragging himself out of the ground while blushing heavily in the process... He had left loot behind as well! It is purple, cat-shaped and frilly. He sighed as he finally got himself out of there and wiped some of Maaris' slime off of his clothes and body. "Finally..." He said to himself, quietly.

“Well, I can see where you’re going with this but...that big city looks like the only one close by?”

"Done? Hey, come on, little help here??"

Maaris's squirming continued as she tried to get Aoife's assistance, but the boys were able to extract themselves... Which felt incredibly strange considering she had been human just hours ago.

"Uuuu..." She shuddered slightly once they were finally out, and after a few moments concentration the puddle that was Maaris began to gather and her humanoid form 'surfaced' until she was standing there between the boys again. "That was weird... Guess I don't really know how to use this body yet."

And then she noticed Runi's prize. And the white cloth laying back where they started the tumble... "Eeep!"

She ran, away from the boys and evidence of Raykbay's destruction and past the girls before ducking behind a tree and sitting against it, knees curled up against her chest and facing away from the group. The main thing that stopped her from wishing to have died (again) back in the city was the realization that embarrassment didn't compare to the actual pain of being murdered and vaporized.

It was several minutes before she finally spoke up from her hiding spot. "I don't suppose any of you have any ideas what to do for breakfast if we're camping tonight?"

“All else fails we can hunt!” Aoife responded—loud enough for Maaris to hear—before walking over and picking up the... cloth, sending a pointed glare towards the boys in the group (and promptly plucking the shorts from Runi's head) before making her way over to Maaris' hiding spot. Discreetly handing her back the... cloth, she then returned to the rest of the group, deciding that it'd be best not to mention what had just happened.

“I can cook– well uh, I could, at least...” she murmured to the others, scratching her arm a little awkwardly. “Don't know if that's different here... I've got a flying magic frisbee following me around, and that didn't come with an instruction book... for all we know cooking could be some kind of alchemical crap that needs frog's eyes and a dash of fairy dust...”

The thought amused her, but she still didn't feel like going on some extensive hunt for those kinds of materials just to eat a basic meal.

“Anyways, we should probably pick out someplace to camp then. Hopefully not too close to the– oh.”

Apparently there was a... message? A notification? She couldn't describe it even if she tried. Regardless of the fact, it was some sort of voting system? Mulling over it for a moment, she frowned a second and glanced at the others before hesitantly making her decision.

Galdra nods and says "Yeah, my cat instincts will make me a good hunter, I bet!" He said in a can-do manner as he grinned. Although his expression quickly changed. He was suddenly quiet as though he was thinking about something. He began to make some strange expressions. No... It can't be. A bit weird... Maybe not? He thought as he made a slight expression while closing his eyes. It went from serenity, to confusion, slight cringe and then to... Curiosity? Contempt? Hard to tell, but it was a mixture of the two.

His eyes shot wide open and his first words were nearly shouted. "M-MY-!!" He quickly sat down as a shiver went up his spine. He then stood back up and looked down at the floor, as though he wanted to tell everyone something, but he couldn't. And also that of shame.

No... Can't tell anyone except Maaris. He thought.

Maaris couldn't look directly at Aoife when she returned her gear, and just mumbled "Thanks"

She was feeling more than a little overwhelmed at the moment. Their escape from prison had all the makings of an epic adventure like a video game, but it was entirely different actually being here to experience it. In some ways she was glad the people who put her in prison were too dead to try that again, but now she had no way of knowing why they were in prison and if the next town was going to do the same to them. And she felt a little guilty at being relieved that someone had died...

Maaris had plenty of concerns about camping with no supplies, especially this close to the impact zone. But travelling at night while exhausted was also dangerous even without the threat of monsters, and at this point she just wanted the day to end so she could put all the awkwardness behind her.

...Oh, that's not mine..

She pulled the frilly purple garment out of her leg and considered it for a moment before stashing it behind her. She'd have to deal with that later, somehow.
