Hmmmm...if that doesn't have any more context than the monsters spelling the word, then I can see the argument against it. At the same time, I can't bring myself to say it's a bad pic.
And I'll get it fully out of the way, as it's already on The Character Died with Him. I'm ambivalent towards current.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I'm guessing Big Bird's teacher moved to a different city or country? I'm not seeing how it illustrates this trope.
I'll say Keep Until Better Image Suggested. I'm sure we can find something better, but the current still works and is in theme with the show.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I wonder if there's anything that would make a good pic from Episode 1839, i.e. the one about Mr. Hooper's death.
Alternatively, When Families Grieves is also potentially useful; this one is about Elmo's Uncle Jack dying.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!I was the one who added the image. Sorry if it's bad, but I thought the choice of word would be enough. I tried searching for a better image, but the trouble is, with these puppet characters they could also be interpreted as neutral if they're supposed to be sad.
For every low there is a high.Indeed, we need to keep in mind that muppet faces have limited expressiveness.
It should be a picture where it's clear from the situation that there's something sad going on, such as a funeral.
This one from "When Families Grieve"? The fact that it's a hand-drawn illustration makes the faces more expressive. The downside, it's from a book, not the show proper.
Clock is set.
He died (both in-universe and out-of-universe), but I get why that might not be obvious. It doesn't say that he died. However, the extra text is really distracting. "Hmm-hmm, illustrated by Joe Mathieu...".

Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus.
It's literally just the word "sad" being spelled out (not to mention the terrible image quality).
