I like both Lupin and Dark Crystal - Age of Resistance, so Leterrier has shown he can be a competent showrunner to me...but not so much a filmmaker.
His full filmography consists of:
- The Transporter (and its sequel)
- Danny the Dog
- The Incredible Hulk (2008)
- Clash of the Titans (2010)
- Now You See Me
- Grimsby
The only one of those I find remotely good is Danny the Dog/Unleashed.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."He directed the first two Transporter movies? Well, I guess him directing a movie from this franchise is fitting in a way, even if he might not necessarily be the best director.
Haven't seen Danny the Dog, but I have heard a lot of good about it. Especially in regards to Jet Li's performance.

Funny how Grimsby had a scene criticizing these movies.
Now You See Me is a fun enough movie for what it is. Between this and the Transporter films, I feel like he'll do just fine with Fast X.
It's been 3000 years…I personally think Incredible Hulk is highly underrated. Haven't seen any of his other films.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonYeah, I was thinking the later entries may as well be Transporter meets Now You See Me so they could do worse.
Maybe "managed to get a franchise film out of notorious diva Edward Norton" was a selling point as well.
Alan Ritchson has joined the cast of the upcoming film.
He's most well-known as the latest actor for Jack Ryan, and I have heard nothing but good things about him.
It's been 3000 years…With Jason Momoa involved, that's two Aquamen in this movie.
Call me when they cast Liam Neeson as Diesel's father.
Dom's dead dad is played by J. D. Pardo.
That wasn't his real dad. It was his fake dad to cover up the fact his real father went into hiding.
Not if Rita Moreno is playing his grandma, as reported by Variety.
What are you two doing?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Fast X trailer
Looks like Jason Momoa is the villain because he's connected to the bank they robbed in Fast Five.
Also, Brie Larson's in this! Hadn't heard that, but neat.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonSo yet another villain connected to a previous one the gang took down. Assuming this isn't the final entry, I suspect the next villain will the distant cousin of Verone from 2 Fast.
I'm still patiently waiting for Dom's rematch with Trucker with a Shotgun.
Official premise:
And they are going into space. I'm not sure how they are going to cram all that into one movie.

Optimism is a duty.Well the buzz is coming and it seems mixed to fairly positive, with Jason Momoa's performance as the bad guy being God-tier good. I feel much less guilt now about my intention to fork out money to watch this in the theatre this weekend

"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"Jason Momoa played the queerest, Vaas-esque movie bad guy I've ever seen. A pleasant surprise, I thought he was going to be a bland tough guy.
This movie had a lot of surprises for people who watched Fast 6 through 9.
Sadly I only watched Fast 8 and 9 and had to go "ooh wait a minute, that person's still alive" before googling what happened to them.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Yeah, the movies do get like that lol.
I just came back from watching and damn, Momoa MADE that movie XD it was a really fun dumb romp. Would recommend.

"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"My favorite bit was when he went after Dom. Even when he's by himself he's like "let's goooooo!"
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I like Momoa's willingness to go full ham with his (archaically offensive) bad guy in a way few have since '90s actioners like Demolition Man or Blown Away, and I'm glad Cena got more jokes this time, but man, this was a slog for me. It's pointless to say "this feels like half a movie" when it is, but... felt like half a movie. And clearly the VFX team was struggling; the big Rome set-piece looked and felt like a Rocket League commercial, and the less I say about the dam bit, the better.

That was insane, but the good kind of insane.
Momoa's Dante is such an entretaining SOB, he's a much more effective threat than Cypher ever was, but his over the top nature and the sheer scope of his evil make him a blast whenever he's on screen.
Also, I was liked that this movie let Cena goof off, which humanized Jakob a great deal and it was really cute seeing him bond with B.
About the only thing that disappointed me was that I wanted Han and Shaw to have a considerable chunk of plot to themselves. Hopefully next time.
I did not expect the movie to end where it did. Fuckers get my ticket for the next ride, that's for sure. And the stinger reveal, yeah it makes sense, considering what Dante's whole deal is about.
Yeah Cena was really good too. He plays off of child actors surprisingly well.
BUT WHY IS A TEN YEAR OLD DRIFTING A CAR?
Also I know everyone is talking about how many parts the finale is gonna be, but am I the only one who thinks that the other film they're setting up is actually the all female spinoff movie? I mean we have Letty and Mia and hacker girl natch, but they also brought back Giselle, and introduced Brie Larson's and Daniela Melchior's characters and even Cypher is a tenuous ally. Throw in Helen Mirren and Chita Rivera cameos and they pretty much a have a wole cast good to go.

"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"
I liked Lupin 2021 so I'm cautiously optimistic.
