If you're really dilligent with getting all shifting related items and Angelina with her IS module, you can use Weedy S3 to push the 4th IS3 boss into the pit at the top of its map.

Okay, I will give it a shot, thanks. After this current run with Kroos, Texas and Robin reached its end.

Update: Robin really is not that bad for this. Especially when her clips keeps the exploding slugs away from the other operators.

See You Soon stories done. It highlights the haphazard highs and lows of the second main storyline, given how they apparently felt the need to put together a vignette event in the first place to actually end things in Londinium.

  • Reed: I actually like her writing from start to finish. She starts out as the terrified body double going along with what others impose upon her and terrorism because she can't envision a life outside her sister's belief in violent power into a confident leader willing to do what she can to save all lives and has a vision of home she wants to see executed.
  • Reunion: Conversely, this cratered off so hard it's not even funny. Going from Ursus to Victoria to ultimately faff around in an inexplicably segregated story bubble until they conclude they'll just go back to Ursus makes this subplot ultimately seem like a massively pointless round trip.
  • Nowell: Insanely rushed to get themselves out of a corner they wrote themselves into. It's at least mildly adequate payoff to setup from years ago and Nowell gets what he wanted in the end, which is nice.
  • Entelechia: Well, this certainly is a bunch of new information on vampires that will pay off in ??? months or years. RIP Trickster, her death scene was pretty moving.
  • Nezzsalem: Fraudzehrer is still one of the worst written characters in this entire story. Threatening to make me read even more aura farming crap is the single worst promise they could make about a future Kazdel story.
  • Amiya: Pretty neat. Paryaqaqa is at least characterized enough to be an entertaining yet secretly competent weirdo that makes me look forward to the inevitable Black Flow of Bolivar event he blatantly flags, Amiya revealing herself as the King of Sarkaz is a good moment, and it wraps up the Sarkaz/KMC/Babel in such a way that feels conclusive and leads back into the state of affairs for A Kazdelian Rescue.

[up] I'm also looking forward to Paryaqaqa as he's been teased as a playable 6 star since the fourth concept PV (he appeared in the part with Pepe's friend IIRC) and the Black Flow is said to be another Collapsal hotspot and where a Sarkaz subrace disappeared.

As for Entelechia's story, still looking forward to when HG make Milton playable as he's teased in PV 4 too

Good grief, the Victoria arc was such a mess that it needed both an entire event (Siege Alter's event) and this vignette too to tie up its loose ends.

would've been better to split it into two. With Victoria getin gits own arc and then Kazdel next

Yea, probably should have spent one arc with Victoria becoming queen and then the next united Victoria could fight a war with Kazdel. Heck, that's what it started out as for all of one measly chapter (Dublin hijacked by Kazdel! ...really, the arc is even more of a mess if you take into account that a lot of the Dublin side of things had to be resolved via an event too. Making Reed Alter's and Siege Alter's events could have been part of the main storyline Victoria arc before Kazdel came in.)

if I were writing. I'd...

  • Have the Victoria crisis be "self contained". Kazdel is still involved but more as a Greater-Scope Villain, with them using Dublinn as a proxy
    • Eblana would be the Big Bad in this case, while Reed takes W's place as Dueterogonist and Siege becomes a Tritogonist.
    • The noblity's infighting and corruption would take center stage and they would repalce the KMC as boss units (save the Damatzi Cluster, who would serve as an early indication that things are not as they seem)
    • What the firelight Casts would be folded into a main episode with a setup like 8's (two parallel stories converging at a common point) with Reed the Flame Shadow being the banner unit)
    • Vina Victoria would replace Wis'adel here, with the banner instead being Logos (Limited) and Vina (evergreen). The events of her event IOT would be shuffled around
    • Clovisa would replace Theresa as the Final Boss and would have the mechanics similar the apparition of Vina's dad as seen in the aforementioned event.
    • Reunion's role would be expanded and tied into the broader conflict as Tahlulah would encounter Reed regualry and tests her newfound ideals. Subtly nudgung ehr into stepping out of Eblana's shadow.
    • The Shard would be retconned out of Londinuim. And instead be found in the heartland of Kazdellan terrtory (with the macguffing necessitating KMC's proxy war being something used to power it instead)
  • With Kazdel begin its own thing...
    • Nymph ends up joining the party "early". Entelechia, Necrass, Ines, Hoederer, Paprika, and of course Wis'adel would enter the gacha throughout the arc.
    • As for bosses, that would be where we face Thereisa (still the endgame boss), Manfred, Duraquel, Uhsalah, and as a new boss, Nezzsalem (who'll act as a King Mook for the normal Nazrecher mobs, but with some unquie tricks and having the honor of being encountered before the normal or elite variety)
    • As a side bonus, Mon3tr woudl also end up in the gacha with Kal's "demise" being the result of Theresis being better at offing her than in canon. This will introduce some story issues since that means Mon3tr the chain medic would be hopping when before PRTS gets hacked
    • With Wisa'del's banner being split someone has to fill in for Logos. Tahlulah would be tempting choice, but making Civlight Eterna a normal gacha op instead would be more fitting. Another option would be one of the Elite Operators or an alt of the existing one, but The "faceless" ones seem hellbent on being limited to events, HG would still likely want to have Raidian be the IS 6 welfare and Blaze the ?Igniting Spark would be out of place here. That leaves a Rosmontis alter as the most likely (if ironic) choice here
    • Setting shift aside the other changes would be that Vina would be more involved here as well (leading the Victorian forces in aiding RI in stopping the Shard), and that reinforcements from Leithania and Reunion (repping Ursus in this case) will also arrived. Making it a case of history repeating itself (Gaul was crushed by an alliance of three of Terra's powers and I think a similar alliance of those powers plus Gaul itself stopped an Kazdellan uprising). This would mean that some people from both would be involved in the story or enter the gacha around those times (Viviana, Nowell, and on the possible side, Redblade, Percival, and ofc Tahlulah)

Finished reading See You Soon. I'm fine with Reed, Nowell and Entelechia, but it was annoying watching the war ending for the third time already, and it was still as unsatisfying as ever (and Theresis was still off-screened lmao). The Londinium part of this arc lost all momentum long ago, and IMO they should have kept the Nezzsalem part in the Grand Overture instead. It's honestly kinda impressive how irrelevant Clovisia ended up being, and can the game please stop making Paprika sad about Manfred when they barely interacted and those interactions weren't exactly friendly either. I ended up liking Nowell and Entelechia though, and Paryaqaqa is pretty intriguing.

Also, updated the timeline, though it currently misses most of Such is the Joy of Our Reunion, since I was too low-energy last month to do much of anything.

[up][up] I wonder how the change in order would affect the op kits, since some of the delayed ops would have "worse" kits relative to the game's lifespan and vice versa for ops released earlier, not to mention how an op going from regular to limited and the other way would affect the way HG design their kit

If I had to guess

  • Nymph would stay the same (her release would be around the same time IOT, maybe with a QOL tweak to her S3 that makes her not reliant on a ritualist). Same goes for Mon3tr (no change)
  • Logos would be a Primal Caster out of the gate and his Delta would instead let him change his injury type based on what the target already has (and what gauge specifically is closest to completion) making him useful outside of just necrosis comps. He would however lack the psudo-true damage Nymph gets.
  • Entelechea may or may not get higher damage numbers.
  • Reed might get a slightly more situational kit or go unchanged (her event IOT did launch during the victorian arc). Necrass would have a slightly stronger kit in some way (likely allowing for two bug guys on her S3)
  • Vina would either get more QOL to her kit (as she is still headlining the banner, even if Logos has the prestigious limited slot) or less perks (as she is still released early compared to IOT)
  • Eterna being a gacha op ITT would likely mean her kit, mainly her S2 would be more more powerful (like say, two orbiting particle rings), and her S3 might get higher numbers and maybe across the board inspiration rather than just max HP.
  • The rest would get either numbers buff (everyone) or minor QOL (Hoederer not bleeding HP each attack.)
  • Wis'adel would likely end up with higher numbers at most. Her kit is already stacked as is and the only thing other thing they could do is just add 3000 free damage on top (the IS finger hand effect basically)

Do keep in mind that some events (Path of Life and any other Priestess arc setup) has a chance of being delayed as a consequence. Which means Ulpianus may also end up being more busted than he current is as well (and therefore still better than Hoederer).

Seeing your proposed change for Nymph and Logos, I'm guessing you don't like how they (and likely Primal Guards) depend on Ritualists/Primal Protectors? Also I wonder how having two 6* Primal Casters early would affect Blaze Alt's release schedule?

Also, should Viviana be the first Primal Guard in hindsight, seeing she ultimately got an elemental mod like Logos that turns her into a Primal Guard?

Not really. (i understand why, just think its boneheaded when the rarities are usually reserved for Game-breaking self-sufficent units.) but these changes are more because I think its unlikely Nymph would need any major changes (again besides QOL) and Logos already has a cracked kit that I figure it might make sense for him to get that for limited op privilege. (it is worth noting that Logos would still be depending on ritualsits to an extent since there needs to be a non-necro gauge already partially filled for him to change injury type and he'd default to necrosis otherwise)

Viviana would not have that privilege so I think the only change might be the simultaneous release of her Delta mod (and letting talulah be the first Primal Guard)

Blaze Alt is a case I didn't account for. I'm not sure which butterfly s would ripple here. she could stay as is, she could take a different class, or the event and her banner would be delayed an extra year.

So the archetype would debut earlier instead of in The Masses' Travels with the 5* Gracebearer as the prototype of both the entire archetype and allied Nervous Impairment?

Yea. While Zwillistorm might not be delayed (HG is prone to spoiling things due to out of order events) they would need to be careful with this one because it is more connected to you-know-who. With Zwillingsturm we knew that RH would eventually resolve the victorian crisis, but that is a resolution any Genre Savvy person would expect anyway, and there was no context as to how. Therefore I do think the Massess Travels would either end up delayed a few more years or Gracebearer ends up swapping in the ealry-mid Kazdel banners early somehow.

Talulah thus is likely to be in a similar case to Aak, Rosmontis and Ifrit, but ironically that would mean her kit is more janky since not only is she released relatively earlynote , but HG would not have any feedback to work with compared to if they had released Gracebearer first. This is assuming she would end up on Wis'adel's banner though, there are other candidates, like Civlight Eterna

If I had to make any writing changes to the current arc, I would have made the Victoria Arc have more conflict by having Clovisia turn up another Aslan to be her puppet king candidate since Siege refused the crown and start a new civil conflict in the shadow of the Sarkaz retreating from Londinum. Neither Pepe nor Siege would be amused by her dragging another distant relative out of Sargon for another go at it.

Question for everyone.

What should one do once the fatigue from playing the game for long enough kick in? I am not tired of playing the game it is just... I've been at all the IS maps for way too much while waiting for the Sanity to be restored, since that and the RA mode are sanity-free. And yes, I'm actually all done with the RA mode and just waiting for any expansion to the shop to get the motivation to play that again.

So what to do?

Or is it just as simple as "leave the game's sanity to cook and come back later to it once recovered"?

Will probably stop there too, at least until more risks from side maps are unlocked.

On chapter 10. Very hard for me to take Rhodes Island as a pharmaceutical company seriously when they've got an assassin as one of their top operators. Glad to see Ascalon finally show up after all the hype she's been given. Normally I like having a ton of different factions all vying for different objectives, but the storytelling format just means I can barely follow who is doing what and why half the time.

[up]Episode 10 is really bad at introducing you to various players of the second arc. Especially after Episode 9 sets your expectations for something completely different. You kinda get a hang of it over the course of the arc, and it gets better on a reread, but yeah, it's pretty rough to be thrown in the middle of an expanded cast you know barely anything about.

[up][up] About RI having actual fighters among their higher ups despite being a pharmaceutical company, that's because they are basically the successor to Babel, a reformist organization that had to use some force to defend itself during a civil war in the nation of the devil race that has been constantly ravaged by war since many years due to discrimination from the animal races, and with conditions so bad many natives become mercenaries, if I remember right. If you want to know more about them, the prerequisites up to Ch 10 are the Darknights' Memoir and Vigilo events

Also, Terra is enough a Death World that the security detail being so dangerous is arguably a necessity. Especially given the high likely hood of people trying to get rid of RI so they they can keep their excuses for dehumanization, slavery and other things usually done to the Sarkaz (as mentioned above) and the Infected.

There is an analogy to Marvel mutants in that respect (complete with a Genosha/Krakoa analogue)

Security is important, but at this point they should be honest and admit they're a PMC with medical inclinations.

Finally got to 11-6, and with that Ascalon and Lin's better modules unlocked. Been wanting that for awhile. Once those are upgraded time to go back to raising various operators based on who I feel like.
