- Oh wait, you guys don't know about the next arc...just going to keep that to myself
- At last the ending changed to include Romin. Now that I think about it, that first arc was about understanding Romin, while this second arc forced Yuga to understand and change his mentality more. Maybe arc 3 will be centered on Luke.
- I don’t know about Luke having the card in his deck. As weird as this sounds, in VRAINS, people have used data to develop their cards. Heck, we don’t know how Yuga created Seven Roads Mage. Maybe Luke’s duel disk took the data from all of his duels, did some sort of psychoanalysis and determined he needed a new card based on his insecurities.
- As fun as it is to call Luke crazy, he’s just a driven kid who will even do things on his own when he feels no one around will support each other. I actually felt for him when he cried, Luke’s not the type of character that gets emotionally vulnerable. Whether it was in his head or not, it almost seemed like this is was his resolve to keep going. I almost thought this could’ve been something Yuga or one of the villains could’ve planned. Plus, him calling the other clubs was justified, they were just being ignorant jerks about the whole situation. If they’re that desperate for a team player, maybe they’re the ones that should focus on their team work, not Luke.
But the whole Goha talk is interesting and confusing.
- Neil didn’t betray them, they tried to get him kicked out of the company. At least we know he still works for Goha, he just can’t duel anymore.
- Mr. Goha actually speaks. That’s unexpected.
- That’s the thing, how exactly can the villains crush. You can’t just deactivate the Rush Duel format from like the millions of people that live there. All they can do is get people to stop dueling and even that’s not going to work.
I don't think Yuga made any of the Seven Road cards? Otes gave him Sevens Road Magician and he said that cards would be drawn to strong duelist or whatever which to me implies that the Sevens Roads cards all already existed and Yuga managed to obtain them over the course of his life from the point he got Sevens Road Magician on.
This is Yugioh, don't think too much about how the anime duelists got their card lol
As a reminder: we have
- GX with the "Neos cards literally created by radiation from space" story.
- 5Ds giving the Signers support for their one-off Signer Dragons.
- Zexal has support for Numbers when Numbers aren't even from their world.
- Also, Re-Contract Universe, literally The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard, except the Computer is the main protagonist himself.
- A few of the Pendulum monsters in Arc-V are literally printed by magic mid-duel.
- And then there's Playmaker in Vrains who just Storm Access'd whatever Link he needs at the moment.

Neos is done a little better than that. Jaden actually designed them first, and then the space stuff happened a long time later. Still silly, but it at least has a backstory.
For Playmaker, at least he has to do something to create them, which is go into a deadly storm.
Arc-V, even after the spoiler ending, still makes little sense.
5D's isn't any better.
Classic Yugioh did it right. GX is, imo, done pretty well, but slightly strange.
Shadow? No, I mean the actual anime where Pegasus created the cards based upon actual tablets he found.
That's "doing it right". It has a clear backstory.
The Manga being weird is another issue.
I never meant the manga at any point. Sorry for not being clear on that. I have never read any manga beyond some of "Season 0" of classic Yu-Gi-Oh.
Plus, the only oddities were some of the really weird things like "undead can't fuse with living", which isn't even an actual fusion. Though that'd be a cool mechanic/ability for a retrain of Mammoth Graveyard.
Shadow?Reiji made his own, and then printed some for the Lancers.
It's Yuya's first few Pendulums, as well as his Enlightenment Paladin and Nirvana High Paladin, that are printed by magic mid-duel. I think his Odd-Eyes Rebellion and Odd-Eyes Raging are also the same.
.
Oh yeah, there's that one odd case with Yuri's deck suddenly getting a Tuner related fusion spell and a Predaplant Tuner out of nowhere, when he's still inside the castle and just walk from one duel to another.

It's Kaiba who designed the contest, do you expect sane or sensical things from him?
The anime did actually use a similar idea to the stacking for certain fusion-like monsters(Gate Guardian, etc). That's why a few games made them fusions or rituals.
...Forbidden Memories literally have you do that for fusions, and for rituals they use an animation where the cards get stacked and then tributed for the big cool Ritual monster. That game is weird.
And yeah, GX was still strange, but they at least explained it. Yuya magic-ing cards out of existence is still weird. Though to be fair, I dunno if that's a skill he properly has As Z-Arc. I forget the ending details.
Shadow?...holy shit.
Luke really has never lost has he?
Hell, he's even beaten Yuga. I didn't even notice.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm not sure if Luke beating Yuga can count since Yuga himself technically won as well there XD
Yuga might lost the duel, but he doesn't care because he already won the battle since the start.
Remember, the entire reason the duel happened was because Luke wanted to keep Rush Duel a secret, while Yuga wants to spread it to public. But Yuga secretly have Kaizo do a livestream of that exact duel, meaning Yuga successfully baited Luke into doing exactly what Yuga wants.

Oh right.
I still count it. Yuga won the war, but did lose the duel. That still counts on his Win/Loss record, even if he basically got what he wanted from the moment they started.
I've never played the game so I've never won, either..
Same for me. Truly, we are the true champions of Yugioh.
One Strip! One Strip!Speaking of losses, today's episode give us Romin's second loss.
I think we've also just gotten the first female villain in Yugioh, and if the scene with Mimi is anything to go by, she might actually be the president of Goha too.

One Strip! One Strip!Akiza, Mai while working for Doma, Asuka under the Society of Light, Saio's sister, Yubel, two of the Dark Signers, Cheryl, that other Knight of Hanoi...

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Right. Well, most of those are either mind controlled, or manipulated or lackeys of a male villain. That being said, what I should have said is the first female main Arc Villain.
Like, she's on the same level Neil just was, the Big Bad who needs to be defeated, which I'm sure has never happened in the anime at least.
One Strip! One Strip!....
Did Yubel identify as female?
Like, did they even give Yubel a gender? I genuinely don't know for sure.
One Strip! One Strip!

A new opening would be very ideal, but Vrains kept the same openings for 50 episodes each, except for the twenty episode-long third season.
