It's a reference to Tell being a Kappa and a certain part of Kappa folklore where they remove something called the shirikodama from humans in that fashion.
Yyyyeah, considering Go Rush's thing seems to be Yokai and folklore barely disguised as aliens, expect a lot of weird chicanery like this.
It's definitely a bold new choice to explore, hell Yu Gi Oh's dealt with the occult, so merging aliens and cryptid could allow for a bunch of crazy story potential. Heck we know aliens are in the world, I just hope that gets explored more.
Props to Yuhi for earning the respect of Yudias' people's at least.
It's cool Zwijo's appeared this early though. I know Sevens got valid criticism for not having an overarching antagonist, so whatever Zwijo's goal is, I'm glad they're playing on the Yudias vs Zwijo conflict.
New episode:
So....we've pretty much accepted that the rest of the alien hunting crew were from the old series right?
Like, it's been kinda obvious considering their appearances (that one old lady looks just like Sushiko for one thing, and that other dude looks like Asana's retainer of ambiguous age), but now we have Mr. Right Behind You doing a spin on his old catchphrase (that's also his name).
One Strip! One Strip!I basically thought that was the case, everyone else in the community has been debating whether it's in the future or an AU.
Yudias' dilemna in this episode was pretty nice.
As for criptids, how true was the flatwoods monster myth anyway?
Dub time! Everyone act surprised!
No news as yet on an international release for the IRL Rush Duel game though.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Except I am legit surprised? Especially since there's no indication that the Rush format the show is based around is leaving Japan.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? Not surprised either. There was a trademark made for the US region of Rush Duels. So I was just awaiting the announcement.
...My memory is weird.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.New episode.
Manya seems to actually be a kid unlike the character she was based on. And unsurprisingly, she has the same voice actress as Mimi.
One Strip! One Strip! Her assistant, Kirishima, also had Roa's voice.
I suspect that she might be Mimi's granddaughter, especially since her deck has kid versions of classic vanillas that also happen to be the inspirations for Mimi's bubble deck and share the same parameters as the latter versions
So we've been pretty quiet on the Go Rush front.
To catch everyone up, Yuddias' old buddy Zwijo used Chupataro as a guinea pig.
Yuchi's Earthdammar allows the cards to come to life just like old school Yugioh, but unlike with those series, the cards don't necessarily have to wait their turn to attack.
This episode ends with Zwijo using that power himself, then going one step further by merging with the monster as well.
Yami Marik would be proud.
Also, Asana appears at the end. I think it was Asana. It sounded a bit more like Taiga, but the hair colour and the fact that the character had a Crane in her office would hint at it being Asana.
One Strip! One Strip!I think since Manabu's backstory with his version of Sougetsu Style, we're already past the point we believe the Expy characters are actually related to their original counterparts on any level beyond very heavy-handed references.
Her name's Asaka according to the credits, so a portmanteau of "Asana" and Tiger's real name "Haruka".
This cour's been very much a Slow-Paced Beginning but Zwijo fusing with his ace monster is certainly starting to bring the crazy back. I was a little surprised that Voidvelgr Requiem didn't have 3000 ATK until I remembered that Roa didn't have a 3000 ATK boss right away either and had to work up to it first.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsZwijo does seems to be more of a Well-Intentioned Extremist, than a straight-up villain.
Roa never got a 3000 ATK ace but Luke did with Dragiastar F.

So, the dub for the series has been out for a few weeks. As per their usual promotion route, Disney has legally upload the first episode for free viewing.
Here's hoping they don't rush it
Also hoping this would spur the desire to localize the actual format (mostly so that I can collect the cards I otherwise wanted to stay secondary to the actual OCG/TCG instead of eclipsing it to the point where the TCG is dead)
New episode:
How long does this take place after Sevens again? I assumed the older people were the exact same characters, but now it occurs to me they might be later grandchildren or descendants.
Also, we're also gonna get a Goha soon.
One Strip! One Strip! My current guess is one divided by zero years because Manabu's Sougetsu clan history has absolutely nothing to do with Gakuto's Sougetsu clan history.
Or They're doing some timey-wimey weirdness. It's an ambiguous amount of years later and personal histories have gotten a little wonky. Wouldn't be the first time a story about aliens, weird powers (Earthdamar), bizarre zany stuff and strange creatures besides involved some time shenanigans.
I absolutely believe this series is gonna go all Earthbound on us.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.There are roughly three theroies going around currently: that this is a distant sequal, that this is an AU of Sevens, and that this is somehow a prequal. Personally considering the different lore for the Sogetsu style and the fact that the Galient lookalike isn't him I'm leaning towards the AU theory though I'm open to all three until we get hard confimation either way.
Episode seven:
Well, now that I've seen Black Luster Soldier in a jersey, I've seen everything...this week. I have little doubt that this show will continue to get sillier and sillier.
One Strip! One Strip!
Man these last few episodes were weird even for yugioh I can believe the earthdammer was yuhis mojo that a kappa alien extracted from his butt
