Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

FLASHBACK: Psyche's Fanfic School
Psyche was awakened from her nap by her phone going off. She groaned. "Whaddaya want?" she said aloud, frustrated. "I'm taking a break!"
She read Mr. Star's party invitation. With a sigh, she replied to him saying that she's not going because she needs a break and is busy with her duties as the principal of the fanfic school.
"Bloody hell," she muttered to herself as she put her phone aside and lay back down. "Getting involved with the other nominators is so chaotic and tiring..."
She went back to sleep, waiting for the Battle Royale to begin, knowing that Yuki was discharged from the rehab centre quite some time ago in mostly-fine condition.
Kirby
The Hilltop
"Sure, you could have all the cakes you want!"
Magolor then gives a slice of cake to each Nominator.
As Kirby eats his cake, he witnesses several small explosions high up in the sky.
Suddenly, a beautiful meteor shower starts! And these meteors appear to flash in a rainbow of colors!
"Look Kirby, shooting stars!" said Ribbon.
"Why do they flash in colors?" asked Taranza.
"Meteors! This is unexpected. And just in time for our party!" said Magolor.
Kirby and his friends then looks up into the beautiful, colorful meteor shower, decorating the star-studded night sky. This meteor shower is visible to even Forte and the staff of the Winter's End.

The Neon Quarters, The Capitol Facility
The crews in the Neon Quarters are alerted by the presence of the meteor shower, they immediately request the Panem government to intercept the meteors using ballistic missile."Mayday! Mayday! This is [REDACTED] of the Neon Quarters. We're hereby to request immediate authorization to intercept the meteors with ballistic missiles! Should they land onto Panem, the entire land would be burned to crisps! Please respond and authorize us right now!"
They then station the ballistic missiles, preparing to shoot down the meteors before they can land on Panem.
"Launching sequence in 30! 29! 28! 27..."
"Goddamn it! Just launch it already!"

Everyone enjoys their cake and looks up in the sky. The students cheer like it's the 4th of July while the Underground residents applaud.
"Make a wish, everyone!" says Ms. Frizzle.
The students each make their own personal wishes, like passing their exams or for more awesome field trips, while Frisk wishes 6k1 to stay determined in her training.
"I WISH FOR DINOSAUR EGG OATMEAL!" shouts Papyrus.
Frisk and Sans turn to him. "Huh?"
"WHAT? THAT'S MY ACTUAL FAVORITE FOOD! I STILL LOVE COOKING AND EATING SPAGHETTI, THOUGH!"
"as for me..." says Sans, "i wish for nuthin'."
"Why?" both Frisk and Papyrus ask.
"cuz i'm too lazy to think of one!"
Papyrus groans while Frisk SAVES their progress with their mini-SAVE Point.
Power, meanwhile, wishes 6k1's Podium Finishers good luck, for more awesome seasons, and also for an enjoyable birthday for her. She looks at Ichi and asks him what his wish is.

Bale's companions began to wish as well.
Ryuzaki: I wish I could reach the World Championship Finals.
Jamie: I wish my next play becomes a sensation world-wide.
Meta: I wish all goes well from now on.
Lucina: I wish for my friends and allies to have their best lives.
Diny: I wish for a delicious sandwich.
Charlie: I wish my Hotel eventually succeeds and prove my father wrong.
Lapis: Eh, I wish for a full DVD set of Camp Pining Hearts... I guess.
MD: '' I wish for an apple seed!
MG: I wish for a whole fucking bowl of fruit that never rots away and is always recreating itself.
The only ones who weren't wishing were just either dismissive or mocking the others.
Alastor: Shooting stars, childish things to make commoneers think their lives will stop being shitty.
Pythor: You're all supersitious fools.

The crews have received the Panem government's reply, telling them to call off the launch sequence."Damn it! The government has rejected our request, the Earth is doomed! Archangel, we need to hide in the fallout shelter."
"Have you no faith in the Panemite Faith? Meteors are the signs of Panem's ancestors descending from the heaven. This is the sign of me reclaiming my divinity."
"But..."
"If you want to feel like a coward, go for it. I'm going to sit here and watch the show. If you have faith in Lord Collins, you wouldn't fear in the first place."
Markus then cancels the launch sequence.

Hilltop
While D. A. sets up her telescope for anyone who'd like to see the meteors up close, Power watches Total Drama. While Moby teaches Kirby how to cook and Vera avoids the latter due to their fight in the last episode, Maki finds his antics while chasing a butterfly amusing. Vera also teaches Pyoro how to fly while Asgore and Kokichi make plans for their camp base upgrades. The king also bonds with Harry even more.
At dawn, the campers find themselves at the beach, and they have to canoe on their Viking rafts to Boney Island, carry them across, build a rescue fire, then canoe back to the start. Both teams make it there at the same time, paddling through choppy waters, running away from mutant animals, and finally making the fire, with Vividria making the design of the log structure of the Screaming Gophers', and Ness and Asgore lighting up Killer Bass's with their fire powers. They then race back to the start, neck-and-neck at each other, and the Screaming Gophers step foot on shore first.
As the two teams rest at the beach, Kirby and Vera argue over the former's voracious appetite while the latter finds a flower that she and Pyoro like. Asgore, meanwhile, leaves his alliance after suspecting that something was off with Tom, and the king teams up with Peanut after seeing him tend to Mew's wounds. Despite that, however, Asgore succumbs to peer pressure and votes Peanut out of the island.
Power checks on the others and sees the students taking turns using the telescope. She then asks Ichi to change to Big Brother. She sees her counterpart comforting Van over his breakdown, strengthening their alliance a little. HGS!Power pats Ichi's head in response, wishing his Podium Finisher luck, too.
The HoH Competition then begins, where the Guests have to sit in a bathtub and resist the garbage being thrown inside. BB!Power jumps out of it as soon as the first trash can is dumped, and so do the others. Eventually, Neptune's the last one left in the smelly tub, and she gets herself out and nominates GC and Van for eviction.
After the Guests wash up, the PoV Competition begins, which is another poker/trivia game hybrid. BB!Power wasn't chosen again, but she cheers for Van as he wagers strategically and breezes through the questions. Van uses his Veto to save himself while Neptune picks Harley instead, and Power gives Van a hug when he returns from the competition.
During break time, Anai tells stories about his office life to Human!Rarity and Applejack, and works at accounting for his House salary. Karishad, meanwhile, continues keeping the peace, but accidentally makes an inappropriate comment that shocks or disgusts the others. When it's time for evictions, it's a close fight between Harley and GC... and Harley gets the final vote.
"Why would I want GC out of the house, though?" asks HGS!Power.

"All I know is Harley didn't do anything wrong. Who'd want her out?"
Kirby
The Hilltop
Kirby watches as the colorful shooting stars decorate the night sky, while eating some candy.
"But... why are they so... colorful?" asked Ribbon.
"I don't know, but they sure makes the night a lot more colorful!"
High, High up in the Sky
We see that these meteors have shapes strangely similar to five-pointed stars, glowing in multiple colors, some seemingly bigger than the others. They emit colorful sparkles. The larger ones seem to move around as if having a mind of their own, unbeknownst to those watching from below.
Back Down
Magolor then tells the others.
"It's getting late, dudes! I think it's time to go home now."
Kirby then yawns, while Dedede and the others prepare to head home.

"Amazing..." says Ralphie as he pulls Keesha closer to watch the meteors with her.
"So pretty..." says Phoebe as she and Arnold watch the sky together.
"I've never seen those kinds of meteors back home..." says D. A. while Tim makes a sketch of them. "And I don't feel sleepy yet. I like to stay up late and observe the stars and galaxies."
"This is an unusual meteor shower indeed, class!" says Ms. Frizzle. "Maybe your wishes will come true!"
Keesha actually doubts that, but decides to play along, anyway.
Meanwhile, Sans puts a ring of ketchup around the telescope's viewing piece when no one is looking. Frisk, however, notices that but plays along, too. They still see the meteors through it, even if they look reddish due to the ketchup, and Frisk describes them to Sans and Papyrus.
"MAYBE WE SHOULD CATCH ONE FOR THAT MONSTER BACK IN WATERFALL!" says Papyrus. "THEY'VE ALWAYS BEEN WONDERING WHAT THEY TASTE LIKE!"
He then tries not to laugh at Frisk's red eye, but couldn't help himself. Sans also bursts out laughing while Frisk simply goes, "hehe."
Power also draws up her own telescope and observes the meteors up close, reminiscing the time when Twilight and her friends watched them from a similar hilltop.

"Alright, it's time for me to take a far away and not-so personal look at these meteors!"
He shuffles his way to the telescope, viewing the meteors. He notices how one of them is much tinier than the rest.
"Something tells me there's a cell hiding in that one... But it's probably just a hunch."
He then gets back to the tables and sits back down.
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."
Kirby

Ness and Paula also looks at the shower.
"Ness, i never saw anything like this!"
"I know! It looks kinda... romantic."
The meteors then slowly became more scarce. Eventually, the shower stopped.
"Well, i guess it stopped. It's getting late, anyway. I think it's time to head home..."
Kirby then heads back to the Spacepod, while Kirby's friends start to head home.

The Winter's End, District 1 Outpost
King is the last individual who saw the meteor shower. It only lasted for a brief second in her district, but it's more than enough for her to make a haste wish.
"Kaname, where are you?"

The meteors then vanish, and everyone begins packing their things.
"I guess that was a 'normal' field trip after all..." says Arnold. "Glad I didn't stay home today."
"I was expecting something big to happen tonight!" says Wanda.
"Come on, not all meteor showers cause strange events!" says Keesha.
"But what if they had magical properties?" asks D. A. while cleaning her telescope. "The Friz did say they were unusual!"
"Hmm... I guess we'll just have to wait and see..."
The teacher then calls them back to the Bus.
"Ms. Frizzle?" asks Carlos, "Can I say goodbye to Sans and Power first? I also forgot something..."
The Friz says yes, and Carlos does so. He also introduces Link to Cirno before thanking everyone for the fun outing. He's the last one to board the Bus, and it takes off into the night sky.

Shower Witnessing
As the meteor shower got bigger, Bale's tributes grew more and more amazed. Even the likes of Lapis, Pythor and Alastor were somewhat amazed by it.
Charlie: This is a beautiful sight, isn't it Alastor.
Alastor: Truth be told here, I haven't seen one of these in my life but my mother told me how much she loved them. Guess she was right about one thing.
Diny spoke to the Underground Inhabitants once more, this time of what the meteors reminded him of.
Diny: This meteor shower reminds me of the beautiful skies in Unova adorned with Draco Meteors of other dragons. It's a tradition of the region to do so on mating season every night to find a mate. I found mine like that...
Bale turned to Dave and Power and began talking to them as well about his experiences with meteor showers.
Bale: Ah, I had never seen something like this before. Not this way at least. Puts things in perspective doesn't it.
MD: Sure does, boss!
MG: Yeah.
Lapis and Jamie were sitting together contemplating the sky in amazement. Though Lapis was less outwardly enthusiastic about it, she still thought it was a neat sight. Definitely a great change of pace to her usual life, as she began to lean on Jamie the two were getting into a rather romantic moment... Until Pythor ruined it.
Pythor: Hahaha, look at you, Lapis Lazuli so comformistn. Practicing your disgusting lovey dovey things with that pathetic wimpy human, do the world a favor and dump him!
Pythor smirked as he saw Jamie begin to get sad but soon his smile disappeared as Lapis used her powers to grab him and throw him in the distance. She then comforted Jamie a bit.
Lapis: Hey, do not listen to those kinds of things. I don't care for what people say about me, and you shouldn't. But if you feel down remember that I am here to kick their butts for you.
Jamie: Thanks Lapis, that means a lot... I don't have much self-esteem, even with my success at theatre. But at least I got you now for that.
The two then smiled and kissed. Next, Lucina was seen carrying Meta Knight in her arms, having both recently greeted Link and Zelda, the two watched the shower together, reminiscing about old times and adventures they had and asking each other a few questions.
Meta: Milady, when you look at the stars... Do you ever feel sad?
Lucina: I do... It reminds me of what I've lost in my life... My father, my friends, my Kingdom, my mother, my home... I've got to admit, even though they were all avenged, I still miss them and wish they could come back deep down. But I know they won't...
Meta: That confirms my suspicions, I cod see your solemn look towards the meteor shower... The shower give a sense of sadness, perhaps because of how beautiful they are and how relaxing to look at it is. I don't have anything I miss now.
Lucina: And don't think this means I don't like my new life... I do, ever since I met my new friends I felt like I had a purpose once more... And when I met you, I felt like I had a family once again... You, Kirby, Robin, Chrom, Dedede, even Bandana Dee are my family.
Meta: That was very nice of you, Lady Lucina.
Lucina: Indeed. But you know, I'd rather see the shower continue with you, not talking, just silently enjoying it.
Meta Knight then nodded as he and Lucina watched the spectacle. The last one to speak was Ryuzaki who was seen looking at his cards he had, he felt like he wished he could communicate with the Duel Spirits of the Dinosaur monsters.
Ryuzaki: I feel alone, I wished you guys were spirits that manifested to me, so I could see more interesting things than usual.
He then silently wished for it at the meteor shower.

"AWW, FINDING LOVE UNDER THE STARS!" says Papyrus after Diny tells his story.
Frisk, on the other hand, doesn't comment on that.
"we monsters didn't see actual stars for a long time," says Sans. "but now we're gettin' to see 'em more often ever since we started fightin' in the games!"
Bale then approaches Power and shares his thoughts about the event.
"Meteor showers are a very rare occurrence back home," she says. "I've never seen one in my life, and seeing them for my birthday, especially with my friends, means a lot to me! Thanks for hanging out with me tonight!"

"Heh... I ain't gonna lie, that meteor shower was pretty forking beautiful. Glad I came here."
Ruler of Everything
Flashback since I missed a lot of things including the fricking meteor shower
Tabby pulls down the mask covering the lower half of her face.
"Hey,it's me. I'm feeling alright. They surprisingly discharged me early."
She opens up a tailgate chair she brought and sits down in it. Maglor hands her a piece a cake.
"Oh thanks. I'm starving..."
Pecan then sits next to her. The other tributes are chatting with others or looking for meteors.
"Glad you could make it and I'm glad you recovered quickly. This night will be unforgettable.''
Tabby eats a bite of cake while listening to Pecan, nodding in agreement.
Then, Flamberge shouts at the top of her lungs.
"Hey! The Meteor Shower is starting!"
Everyone looked in awe at the meteor shower. Tabby even took some pictures of the phenomenon.
Tabby and Pecan look to their right to see Meta Knight and Lucina sharing romantic vows together.
"Aww...Looks this shower also brought up some romantic energy tonight."
"I don't really ship it but man love is a wild thing."
Then the shower stops.They start to leave and start staying their goodbyes.
"So that was it,huh? Do you want to head back? I can operate heavy machinery now."
"Sure! I'll drive just in case."
"Girl,you just been discharged. I'll drive."
"Sure..."

"I'm so glad you're okay!" Power says to Tabby. She then realizes that it's getting really late, so she bids her, Starfall, and the Undergrounders goodbye, then asks Ichi to teleport her home.
"Thanks again for joining me," she says to him. "Hope we can do this again!"
Once they've gone, Frisk, Sans, and Papyrus also say goodbye to the others and walk down the hill, with Sans finding a "shortcut" home.
Power's Home
The next day, Power cheers for 6k1's tributes, holding on to her wish. She does a double take as soon as Aberforth and Anakin fight Seel and Linguini. The former two effortlessly wound them with their wand and lightsaber, respectively, but Seel manages to fight back by washing them out with Surf. Linguini hangs onto a nearby podium as the wave hits him, too, then musters his remaining strength to bash Aberforth's and Anakin's heads in with his frying pan.
"Yeowch... I'm so sorry, 6k1 and Ichi..."
Later that day, Team ACT tries to recruit Seel into their team, only to laugh when they realize that it can only make barking noises. Linguini, meanwhile, opens a package from 6k1 and enjoys the cake... only to throw up because it was expired.
"Hold up... Did 6k1 intentionally buy you that as punishment?!''
Later that night, Linguini shelters himself from the snow to recover from the battle while Seel receives homework from an unknown sponsor. The next day, Beans sings a song about how good it feels to be bad to Linguini while Seel logs its dream in its journal, only to wake up from it and forget it.
Power just hopes that Beans doesn't corrupt Linguini with that song, so to get her mind off that, she tells Ralsei about the meteor shower.

"Well, I gotta get going. 'Tis been fun."
He then teleports back to his Underground Residence via pressing a button on his sleeve. Because he didn't feel like walking all the way back that night.
The Arena Sea
The tiny meteorite lands in the sea, thus confirming Eredars's hunch. A cell breaks out of it not long after.
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."
Hilltop
"Once again, this was a really great party, and I'm glad I could make it. Peace out, y'all."
He hits the button on his wrist-mounted teleporter.
Kirby
The Hilltop
After the other guests have left, Mr. Star tells Kirby's friends that he has to go home. There's still a lot of food left.
Suddenly, Magolor notices something odd on the sky.
"Wait. Are those shooting stars... coming towards us?"
Without warning, the star-shaped, multicolored meteors bombard the hilltop.
"It's a shower! Take cover!" yelled Ribbon.
Kirby and his friends run inside the Spacepod as the objects hit the hilltop. After it's all over, Magolor, Kirby, and Mr. Star goes out. Magolor picks up one of the bigger objects. It is glowing and shaped like a five-pointed star.
"I've never seen a meteor like this!"
Mr. Star picks up one of the smaller objects.
"Hmmm... this is no meteor. This stuff is made of star energy."
"Star energy?"
"It's a type of energy flowing through space. This stuff is what my species is composed of."
"Really?" asked Susie.
"Mysterious energies from outer space, huh?"
"I could use this to power my new inventions."
"But the bigger ones... well, i'm still not sure what those are made out of... Anyways, i'm going home."
Mr. Star flies away. Magolor then says.
"Well, there's still a lot of food left. We should keep them for tomorrow!"
Kirby agrees.
Unbeknownst to them, the star-shaped objects start to float throughout the place. Without being seen by Magolor, the objects "fuse" with some of the foodstuff before he picks it up. The other stars, scattered throughout Panem, began fusing with food and some other objects as well...
The Spacepod
Kirby and Magolor went to sleep. Kirby decides to put one of his candies near his bed with the intention of eating it tomorrow.
While they were sleeping, some of the foods, specifically the ones fused with the stars, begin to wiggle. The, the candy near Kirby opens his eyes...
