Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

"I'm assuming that you're going to the party as well?" He gives her the invite. "I hope you have fun there! There's also a meeting at the conference room, but it's closed right now."

Kirby is eating his favorite burgers. Upon seeing Ninten, he runs up to him and hugs him. Ribbon then approaches him as well.
"Oooh, you look funky."
Meanwhile, Mr. Star tells 6k1 that Adeleine and Ribbon are invited as well. Ness meanwhile, asks Ninten something.
"So, what's your life like? Is it nice?"

"Of course they are!" says 6k1. "And Adeleine, you're still on the waitlist for hiring. Paper's looking for another teacher for her art school."
"Speaking of my clone," says Power, "she's also looking for a firefighter, but they must be knowledgeable in their field and capable of putting out magical/supernatural fires, too, so water powers aren't enough."
"Can we go to your school?" the kids ask her.
"Of course you can, but 6k1 has to bring you back to the Arena first."
"Oh..."
6k1 sighs. As much as she wants to grant their wishes, she's been holding them off for several seasons due to the massive mixed-age group tributes making it hard for the Gamemakers to run the season. These "black flags" as they officially mark them are like death wishes for those who want to see romance in the Arena. While she's not into the shipping game herself, she knows someone who is, and that nominator hates them as much as she does.

He then heard a large explosion in the kitchen.
Bale: Guess that answers my question.

The shopkeep
greets Galis.
"A new customer? It's been ages since I've had a new customer. Tell me want you want, miss."
She thinks for a few seconds...
"I'll take a few Digorno's pizzas as well as a Nintendo Switch and an ultra HD TV."
He then summons the items
"That'd be 5,000 in souls. If you don't have souls, don't panic: I have recently learned how to convert any kind of currency into souls."
"I nearly panicked for a second there, lad."
She hands him 50,000 gil. He promptly converts them and puts her items into a bag of holding.
"Thanks for the purchase. And before you go, my name's Vulgrim."
She waves at him before heading back to her house.

The BTS Boys' Apartment
"OK, are we ready to go?" Jin calls out to his bandmates.
"After this game!" Jungkook calls from his room.
Jin sighs. "Jungkook, I know you love Overwatch, but-"
"Don't call the kettle black," Suga interrupts as he appears beside him. "You spend several hours a week at that computer playing Maplestory."
Jin schools his expression into an exaggerated look of personal offense. "That's not true!"
Jimin and V chuckle as they, too, approach him. They both look rather relaxed, considering.
For the party, they've all decided to show up as a rainbow. All of them have dyed their hair different colours and are wearing outfits to match. RM is red, Suga is orange, J-Hope is yellow, V is green, Jin is blue, Jungkook is indigo and Jimin is purple. And when RM and J-Hope show up at the entrance, they all look great together. The look is even better when Jungkook finally emerges from his room.
Once they're all assembled, they leave the apartment and head off to GC's base.
GC's Base
Psyche waves at everyone already present. "My tributes should be here soon," she says. "Just… don't mind Felix. He's very… antsy about certain clothing choices."
As if on cue, Felix arrives at the base. BTS, meanwhile, are still a little far off.
Kirby
The Database Library, Conference Room
Kirby receives a call from his old friend, Magolor.
"Hey there! It's me, Magolor! I'm taking all your friends to GC's base for the party! See ya!"
Kirby then hangs up. Mr. Star then asks the DM about the party. Kirby and Adeleine, meanwhile, observes Carlos and his pals. Kirby then happily says "Poyo!" and Carlos, while Adeleine asks them about what they usually do and their plans for today.

D. A. groans again, then turns to Adeleine.
"Well, Carlos and I go on field trips with the Friz! She always takes us to exotic locations like outer space, the ocean, the rainforest, the prehistoric times, and even inside the human body!"
"I only tagged along for two: up a mountain to fix the ferris wheel and inside the school computer to debug it, but I can tell you that Ms. Frizzle's field trips are awesome!"
"Carlos, isn't it that you were planning a field trip to our place?" asks Toriel.
"A field trip?" asks Frisk.
"like a trip to the field where ya do nuthin' but trip?" Sans butts in.
"Heh, well... it'd be great to go there just to visit you all, but Ms. Frizzle hasn't announced when."
"What he means is that we can ask her to take us there when we feel like it, but for now, let's just enjoy the party."
Carlos then just realized something. "Kirby, wasn't your ship... chasing us when we were going home in Season 57?"
6k1 turns to Mr. Star's group. "So are you guys ready to go? Because I have some important announcements to make."
She waits for Dave's to settle down before she can begin.

A mysterious figure cloaked in a gray cloak teleports into Eredars' home
"Who the he-Oh. You must the one who put a stop to Panoptes' plans."
"That's me. How did you know, anyway?"
"News travels fast in Panem... Speaking of which, why are you here anyway?"
"Just wanted to visit a few of you nominators. That's all. Before I go, my name's Johnathan Smithy."
He then teleports into another nominator base to greet him or her.
"That was weird... Wait... Johnathan Smithy? Didn't my dark counterpart use that to trick some of Psyche's students?"

While waiting for Dave's group to pipe down, Power asks Ichi to look up Survivor on his phone. He does so, and to her pleasant surprise, it has finally begun.
Her Alternate Self, who's in her Daring Do outfit with pants, doesn't form any alliance with the other members of the Stardust Tribe, unlike her Big Brother self, who allied with Kylo, of all people, right from the start. But speaking of Big Brother... Hasn't it been a little more than two Earth Prime weeks since said alt's untimely eviction due to her mental breakdown?
Anyway, for the Immunity Challenge, the two tribes race through treacherous waters on their rafts to light the spirit at the finish line. Survivor!Power uses her magic to draw the paddles and summon them for each of her teammates. She commands them in steering the raft to the shore up ahead, but the Moonlight Tribe speeds ahead of them thanks to Survivor!GC using his tech. Despite this, the tribes still manage to go neck-and-neck at each other towards the end, but Azula uses her Firebending to light the spirit first, granting Moonlight immunity.
After some bonding time among the survivors, it's time for the Tribal Council. HGS!Power's eyes shrink when everyone else in Stardust votes to kick Uzo Aduba out of the island.
"But but... she's the voice actress of Bismuth and Novo..."
She shakes her head.
"I know it sounds weird that way Ich, but both the universe and its respective work exist in the Multiverse..."

As he watches the first episode of Survivor play out on his phone, he takes a considerable interest in the Joker and Overhaul's Villain Teamup, as well as their unexpected alliance with Neptune, of all people.
"Gotta say, Power, your Survivor self's quite the leader in this challenge."
Once it comes time for the Tribal Council, Jeff Probst winds up snuffing Uzo Aduba's torch.
"Hmm. Thought for sure that Overhaul and Joker would be the first ones targeted."

He then leaves.

Power introduces Starfall to her friends and pats him on the back. "Past is past, brother. I already forgave him."
"I still wish I lasted longer in that season," says Ralsei, "just so I could know you better."
"Sans?" asks Frisk. "Is Papyrus guarding your home?"
"yep."
"And Mom, what if Asgore goes to the party as well?"
"A regent will take over, with Undyne and the Royal Guard keeping watch."
"And did you lock the doors of our Home?"
"Yes, my child."
Frisk nods.
