@William Storm: RP characters are ocs, yes.
@Dhiruxide: Oh. Unfortunately yes. The concept of Xion is actually a deconstruction of the whole self-insert character trope, that's how prevalent it was back when it was big lmao.
Dark Souls: I heard it's really hard, my bf keeps wanting me to play it but I'm scared to.
Science Fantasy: One of my favorite genres.
Early TVT days: We don't talk about those.

Okay this thread's going to bonkers, we gotta wait until we post or we ninja and open 3 separate discussions lol
This thread moves at the speed of fuck, don't blame me.

Current topic: The ridiculous nature of the triple-ninja pileup that just happened.
How the fuck did it even.....
Maybe people should just stop posting full-ass essays into the thread
We all want to pick a particular discussion and everyone wants in on first. This was my third attempt at Science Fantasy fiction talk, media and tropes like Magitek because I love it but Keiron beat me to it once.
i have a lot to say sometimes! not like it was moving much at the time
We can blame quetz for this at least, this thread was his idea and didn't think everyone would chime in at once and let a DINGLEBERRY like this happen
Ya, shit I'm so scatterbrained. Next topic in full: Science Fantasy fiction, works, tropes and more, tropes like Magitek and more!

Alright, my favorite example is Doom. The concept was always that of scientists working for a megacorporation set in future open a portal to Hell and mythical demons invade, throwing or spewing magical fireballs and more.
Then you have them pervert the environment, when it comes to fusing flesh with steel and machinery and robotics. Like Cyberdemon, half-demon/half-machine monstrosity armed with a rocket launcher!
And something like Samurai Jack which is about a samurai from past flung into the far future which has robots and wizards.
Anything you like about the broad genre or dislike? Favorite works?
Thanks Afters, I'll always let you pick whatever you want from now on.

Really like the concept and mixing the two in general, why only restrict yourself to science OR fantasy-related concepts and tropes, and who said they have to be mutually exclusive? They're both cool, and mixing them can be even better

UGH I'm always a slut for science fantasy. That's actually the genre of my story I'm working on, with my ocs, though with a little more focus on the fantasy than the science.
Still though, it's really cool and interesting to see how different writers combine the genres. It can be a really unique experience across all sorts of works.
Does Final Fantasy count as Science Fantasy? Or is it more on Steampunk/Gaslight Fantasy?
You've always been a slut
@Dhruxide It's okay. The format doesn't have to be followed that closely. But keep it in mind always and forever.
