Gonna agree with dRoy's first bulletin in that suffering permanent or hard to recover from injuries are my biggest fear, and the thought of being unable to move whatsoever particularly strikes a nerve in me.

The another thing about those kind of injuries or illnesses is that if they don't kill you, they also result in a massive financial and psychological burden. It could result in you getting bankrupt, if you live places like America and not filthy richy.

as a kid, i used to be scared of the vacuum cleaner from the Goldfish ads. i laugh at it now, but i had quite a few dreams about it where i was just shrunk down to the size of the other Goldfish

I hope barnacles like the ones in Half-Life don't actually exist anywhere. I couldn't cope up with it.

I got a good news and a bad news for you, buddy.

The bad news is that they exist! They are called glow-worms, and they use their sticky thing to catch preys and lure up to ceiling and devour.

The good news is that they're very small and only eat insects. Also, they look gorgeous and are in fact a major tourist attraction in New Zealand!

The feeling that something is off about a person or place. This fear isn't just a very good way to make effective horror but also a relatable thing IRL.

Nothing Is Scarier is one due to paranoia reasons.

The thought of having my past mistakes come back to bite me. Suffering a debilitating disease or injury (especially one that affects the brain). Being irrevocably cut off from any means of making anything of myself in life. Finding myself at a point where I'm having to constantly take crap from backwards or brutish types of people who have no regard for the way in which I'm myself. Et cetera...

I guess I am afraid of being selfish. It unnerves me when I think about indulging myself too much in addictions like eating, drinking, smoking, etc. That is why I always try to be selfless. I mean, that value is befitting of my account name here! [lol]

Worms and grubs.

Just... worms and grubs.

When I was four I accidentally watched Tremors. Then my dad caught me and decided to make it worse by adding his own commentary like "Those worms are mean, they're trying to eat him!". To this day I'm still terrified of worms or anything worm-like. Damn it, dad.

Watching a video about parasites on Youtube and what they can do...

You're out, minding your business and these tiny parasites enter your body whilst unaware.

They take over your body and turn you into their slave while you're in constant, extremely painful agony and you can't do anything. They control you, they make you move when they want to. It's like complete control of nervous system, add brain as well. Being parasites, they feed on you for nutrition. I always forget things so I edit but another facet to this is making you care for the eggs, for the parasites. Use you, feed off you, kill you slowly and then spread more of the fucking things in the end...

Oh? And there's no cure, no solution.

This kinda described what it'd happen if you got a headcrab on you for example

I have a fear of sharks and Body Horror. The level from Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves where you control Dimitri and sharks attack you from a first-person viewpoint still spooks me to this day. And the less said about Watermelon: A Cautionary Tale, the better.

I also have a fear of losing my loved ones.

The entire concept of sleep, to me, is Existential Horror defined. Literally every single day there is a total gap in your consciousness that you cannot control or even remember beginning, and there is no way to avoid this (at least not indefinitely). I've more than once toyed with the idea of doing a story where aliens with no need for sleep encounter humans and literally cannot wrap their minds around it.

[up] I mainly just find the story too depressing.

Death of Personality is both terrifying and heartbreaking. It’s like, the person you know is gone in terms of mind.
