Considering how every game is a largely different entity, I think using something that isn't the logo may not be very illustrative.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)My thoughts exactly. There are a few recurring elements throughout the series (like Chocobos, or a character named "Cid", for example), but nothing that conveys the entire series.
The logo is just fine.
Yep, keep current.
Just checked and the current was an oversized pic that was squashed by the coding. I cropped out a lot of the dead space and reuploaded it as a PNG.

(Annoyed grunt)My only issue is we should probably use the real logo for Final Fantasy [1]◊, the one that is there is not one of the actual logos.
I feel like a lot of the FF game pages have issues.
Final Fantasy V is just a cluster of classes, what about actual cover art for V◊ or the logo of the rereleases [2]◊?
Also Final Fantasy III 's is just some random art of the FMV or something, what about the cover on Steam [3]◊?
Final Fantasy XIII has the same issue, the logo?
Final Fantasy XIV's logo isnt even of the game that actually exists, what about their current logo [4]◊?
Final Fantasy XII is also misrepresenting the game, what about the Switch cover art [5]?
Final Fantasy IX is the literal PS 1 game cover but a complete picture exists of that [6]◊ showing the full cast.

The first image you linked is the first game's logo, and Final Fantasy V uses the Japanese PS1 cover art. I'm not a fan of logo-only images, but I was considering starting threads on a few games:
- The original Famicom cover for III, upon which the logo was based (also makes it consistent with II)
- The Zodiac Age key visual◊ for XII
- This for XIII
- The Realm Reborn Collector's Edition art for XIV.

Keet cleanupI agree that the first game's logo shouldn't be used, and the current one seems to be official and on other sites. As for other games that are apparently poorly represented, I think their pics are okay, I don't think their supposed flaws are bad enough (though I guess Final Fantasy XIV could be better, and I actually think Final Fantasy VII's is the most mediocre).

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)The current franchise image is also from that but but a poor edit job, hence why I suggested the actual title card. The one on FF 1 is a bigger one from the Japanese GBA release.
I personally think that all logos would be great, it’s what the actual game devs think is the most representative of their games hence why it’s flat out used as the Japanese cover of their game. Of course in the west they thing that is boring. American Kirby Is Hardcore and all that.
With evolving games like XIV and such we typically use the most current entires so Shadowbringers instead of ARR hence the suggestion. The current is from 1.0 which does not exist anymore.

I agree that for the Franchise/ page, using anything other than the title logo will be insufficient to represent the franchise as a whole.
As for the images in its subpages, I think the worst ones are: I (the sketch-like quality of the image makes it look like an unfinished product), V (using the game's sprites instead of the official art is a poor choice for a page image methinks) and XIV (the image is squashed that the details are barely visible.)

There is no actual logo for the franchise, they make a pretty big deal about how the series reinvents itself and has a new Amano art logo for every game. Up until X-2 and sequels became a thing ‘franchise’ was pretty much a misnomer tbh.
They flat out do live stream events for just a logo reveal, it’s odd to say the least.
what about this then?◊. It’s not a hacked up version of the FF 1 logo and it’s in the appropriate Font. The Other Wiki and 3 different Wikia’s use it.
We can replace the actual FF 1 logo on its page.

I meant the all-text logo. That is pretty much the only constant thing throughout the series' sprawling titles.
Though if we want something more visual, we might be able use the cover art / logo for the Anniversary box sets.
25th Anniversary◊ (without text) 30th◊
We should probably remove the text mentioning the years though.
Here's the first one without the "Celebrating 25 Years" text; I support using it. Here is the key art for Shadowbringers.
Keet cleanup
I like that.
19 works too. It's more pleasing than just the letters while still keeping the franchise illustrativeness.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)19's pretty cool.
19 works for me.
(Annoyed grunt)19 is good.
I've replaced the image for the franchise page with 19. So that one's done.
But should we talk about the "problematic" images for the individual game's pages in this thread as well, or do we make new threads for each?

Can we get an image for this page that isn't just an all-text logo?
