Sorry for the wait, ~wingedcatgirl.
Finally getting to opening this for discussion.

Neglected to mention this, but if the current definition is about corrections to errors regarding the translation's target culture, then the page image isn't actually an example. That said, it would be an example if we expand it to be about corrections in general.

And that's 11. So, is all we have to do, a description rewrite?
And fixing the unclear wicks? At least there's only 54 wicks.

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I think so. I think the name is fine as-is.
2 ÷ 0When TV writers make mistakes in their shows, sometimes those errors will be corrected when those works are translated. This can be a mistake about a foreign culture that is corrected when the work is translated for viewers of the target culture. It can also be plain factual errors in the work that are corrected when translators go over them.
This is common in English dubs of anime, which usually fix Gratuitous English, but it can occur with any kind of media when imported into a country other than the original.
Compare Woolseyism. Not to be confused with "Blind Idiot" Translation (about terrible translations) or Translation Convention (characters speak a foreign language, but the audience hears it in their language).

Bump — anything else to do here?
(Dunno if "Unclear Description" is the best category for this case, tbh...)
The intuitive definition of Translation Correction (a error which was corrected during translation) is at odds with the definition on the page (a error about the target culture which was corrected during translation) and the usage is following accordingly.
- Fake Russian: Russian character name changed to fit Russian name rules in Russian translation.
- Faux Fluency: Gratuitous German improved in German dub.
- Keep It Foreign: misspelled Russian name fixed in Russian TL.
- Translate the Loanwords, Too: Discussed; one option when translating a work which contains badly-used loanwords from your language is to correct it.
- Characters. The Dark Knight Trilogy Other Characters: Implausible Russian name changed to more realistic one in Russian trans.
- ShapedLikeItself.Video Games: Redundant "the Las Plagas" fixed in Spanish translation.
- Trivia. From Dusk Till Dawn: Mexican Spanish dub changes Spanish name to go by Spanish naming rules.
- Trivia.Ojamajo Doremi: Ungrammatical English corrected in English dub.
- Trivia.Police Academy: Ungrammatical Japanese name corrected in Japanese dub.
- Trivia.Rising Sun: Ditto.
- Trivia.Sailor Moon: Ungrammatical English fixed in English dub.
- Trivia.Speedy Gonzales: Ungrammatical Spanish changed in Spanish dubs.
- Trivia. The Dark Knight Rises: Implausible Russian name; same example as Characters. The Dark Knight Trilogy Other Characters.
- Trivia.Yakuza 2: Broken Korean corrected in Korean localization.
- Trivia.Criminal Minds Beyond Borders:
- Misnamed Spanish cathedral corrected in Spanish dub.
- Misspelled Spanish name corrected in Spanish dub.
- Trivia.Hatsune Miku Project Diva: Questionable English corrected in English trans.
- YMMV.The Simpsons S 8 E 22 In Marge We Trust: Broken Japanese corrected in Japanese dub.
Total: 17Definitely fits the intuitive definition
- Gratuitous German: Two examples, both Gratuitous German improved in English translation.
- Unit Confusion: Misuse of "hertz" for volume changed to correct "decibels".
- ArtisticLicenseHistory.Pearl Harbor: "I think World War II just started" said two years into the war because America has been forced in; changed in some dubs to something that makes sense.
- Headscratchers.Yu Gi Oh: Suggestion that a timeline change in English trans may have been to line it up with historical Egyptian events.
- Trivia.Godel Escher Bach An Eternal Golden Braid: Later French translation updated description of "Bach goblet" after author learned about real one; might count as current def if Bach goblet is a French concept?
- Trivia.Tales Of The Magic Land: Rusty tin man renamed to metal that actually rusts.
- Trivia.Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch: Ungrammatical English changed in "the anime and all translations of the manga".
- Trivia.Pokemon S 18 E 15 Battling With Elegance And A Big Smile: Mon using a move it can't learn changed in English dub to move it can learn.
- Trivia.Gladiator: Ungrammatical Latin corrected in Spanish dub.
- Trivia.Sailor Moon: Misidentified character is corrected in English dub.
- WritersCannotDoMath.Anime And Manga: Math error in original corrected in dub.
- Trivia.Eternal Sonata: Mispronounced French words fixed in English trans.
- Trivia.Fire Emblem Awakening: Fridge Logic in Japanese fixed in English.
Total: 13Definitely fits neither definition
- Characters.Golden Sun Bosses: Translation error in first game is fixed in second game; example removed.
- Trivia.Snatcher: Ungrammatical English changed in later release; fits current def if this change was part of localization, but example text as-is doesn't say so.
- Trivia.Yakuza: Undoing of Dub Name Change in 4 and 5 deemed an error and reverted in 6 and on.
- VideoGame.Dark Souls: Fans are referencing JP docs to correct errors in English translation; pothole removed.
- VideoGame.Golden Sun Dark Dawn: Natter pointing out that EU translation doesn't contain an error added in US translation; removed.
- Trivia.Criminal Minds Beyond Borders: Character's rank is changed in Spanish dub to one that exists in Spanish police.
Total: 6Unclear
- Gratuitous Foreign Language: Only says "corrected in translations", doesn't specify "to that language" or not.
- Language Tropes: Index, no description.
- Newer Than They Think: General discussion about barely-visible blue/indigo distinction vs clearer blue/cyan distinction, mention that works frequently change this.
- Present-Day Past: Speculates wildly about not only whether the change was an intentional correction, but whether the change exists at all?
- Random Drop: Single-word pothole; I think this is "fake word changed in translation to real word meaning the same thing", which would be the current definition in the English translation and the intuitive one in all others.
- Recursive Translation: Discussed; English translation of Spanish work containing Spanish translations from English texts which were deliberately altered must consider whether to preserve or revert these alterations, but no mention of what the translation actually did.
- Translation Tropes: Index, no description.
- Trivia: Index; no desc.
- King Arthur: Picts referred to as Woads, corrected in Spanish dub; unclear if this has to do with Spanish culture.
- Video Games: Character named Crimson is renamed Scarlet, which sounds more like a real name; does not clarify in which languages.
- Elemental Gelade: ZCE.
- Trivia.Fire Emblem Awakening: "Thor Hammer" changed to "Mjolnir" in translations; unclear if this actually constitutes a correction.
- Trivia.Golden Sun: Names changed to better fit theme naming; unclear if this constitutes a correction.
- Trivia.Metal Gear 1: MSX 2 "Shoot Gunner" changed in NES to "Shot Gunner"; unclear if this happened during translation.
- Trivia.Final Fantasy Record Keeper: Some names have been "quietly rectified"; insufficient context to determine whether this is a correction at all or whether it happened during translation.
- Woolseyism.Film
- Wizard of Oz: Scarecrow's incorrect Pythagorean Theorem fixed in French dub; fits intuitive def unless you buy the theory that the error was intentional
- Commando: Don't know what the fuck this is, but it's from the Mexican Spanish dub and doesn't have anything in particular to do with Mexico, so either intuitive def or misuse
- Trivia.Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey: Americanization during English localization incidentally solves some Fridge Logic; is corrective intent required? If so, intuitive def.
Total: 17Irrelevant
Is this, in fact, a correction?
Honestly, I don't see any need for the "error about target culture" restriction; lots of translations correct things which aren't strictly about their own culture and that's just as trivia-worthy.
