Cool new poster.

Judging by Welling's Superman not being on that cover.....I assume he is gonna play a minimal role, maybe even die...

But it's so, so great to see Jefferson among the bunch smile

Looks like Black Lightning will have an important role in Crisis[1]

Ok. So I've just finished the Flash. No spoiler's but it seems like it's supposed to start this Sunday, but all the shows seem to have at least one more ep first. When exactly does the crisis start again.

Not this upcoming Sunday but the Sunday after.

In that case I'd better catch up with Black Lightning quickly.

I'm mid-Flash, with everything else done but haven't started it yet.

Mainly because I really dislike Odell and get worried for the family when he's around.

But I should be easily able to catch up before Crisis hits.

Yeah. I realized that recently after writing that message.

I can't tell if the most recent episodes of The Flash and Arrow were philosophically complimenting each other or opposing each other.

both I felt. Flash and Arrow were both in mind sumulatuions but ollie's was a gift meant for him to accept his demise and barrys was a curse to tempt him into unaccepting that he would die

Caught up on all the Arrowverse shows now.

While I don't think I've enjoyed Black Lightning as much because its quite depressing, its very good this season.

Flash and Arrow are both on fire this season. The direction given by Crisis has been very good to both of them.

Arrow's been amazing with the callbacks to earlier seasons. And Flash's focus on the Team has been excellent. Plus the villain is way better than The Thinker/Cicada so far.

Which leaves Supergirl as the weakest link this season. Although by no means is it bad, just not as good as the others.

EDIT: Also the Monitor's whole Groundhog Day loop was a really good episode. But, well, it's a bit hard to trust the Monitor's intentions with the whole thing when Oliver was making a backup plan to kill him if he was evil.

Though, I think any ultra-powerful being Oliver meets, he's probably going to come up with a back-up plan in case they turn evil. When Barry called Oliver to help fight Thawne, he had those speed disabling nanites ready to go. And, of course, during Crisis on Earth-X:

Kara: Is that a Kryptonite arrow!? Why do you have a Kryptonite arrow?

Oliver: In case an evil you ever showed up!

Still curious as to how he got Kryptonite.

Presumably, Krypton still exists in the Earth-1 universe, and may still have blown up; there just weren't (as far as we know) any survivors who landed on Earth. So if, during a previous crossover, Kara happened to mention that there are these green space rocks that weaken her, Oliver may have started looking around for any green space rocks that have crashed to Earth.

So the last episode of Flash included a shot of a metal door with seven symbols (seen here) that the Monitor made. One symbol is obviously for Green Arrow, but I can't really tell about the other ones. Anyone have anything for those symbols?

The one on the far left looks like a tuning fork, which is probably a reference to the giant ones the Monitor used to protect certain worlds in the comics Crisis.

The one in the middle almost suggests the image of worlds actually overlapping which has been used before in the comics also.

Third from the left looks like it could be the Flash's mask when viewed from head on. See the little lightning bolts on the side?

Yeah, I think it is. And the tuning fork I believe is the symbol for Black Lightning. The other ones elude me, though.

The one inbetween those two . . . I know it's probably not Wonder Woman's tiara, but now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it.

They gotta do this right.

I mean, this is huge. Crisis was THE big event of DC. It changed everything (though not completely for the better admittedly). Those are some huge shoes to fill.

[up][up] I have not real expectations due to not being familiar with it, just hope it's as good as the better parts of the previous crossovers.

Guess Riverdale won't be part of the Crisis. Too bad.

I just love how they DCEU is floundering and only having assorted successes adapting the characters to screen, struggling with understanding how to make these fantastical ideas relateable to modern audiences, wrestling with the impulse to make things less fantastical, more grounded in an attempt to make them “stronger” by way of being more real.

... and the Arrowverse is out here adapting the fucking Crisis, and having a grand old time of it.

The DCEU seems to have found quite a few successes, they're just successes rooted in not tying their films together too closely and just letting 'em each do their own thing.
