Misused: Holy Shit Quotient

Crowner made.

We're inevitably going to get people who support both, so how should we avoid a repeat of what happened on the last crowner? Would we ignore the known double-supports when determining the crowner's result?

How do we know if there's a "double support"?

I don't know how you're proposing to avoid that, so make your own crowner if you don't like mine. I'm done making crowners for this thread; I've already made three.

On the last crowner, there were more support votes than oppose votes, even though the options appeared to be binary. This artificially inflated the ratio for ShockingMoments/, and is the entire basis of my "six votes" argument.

Still not entirely sure how you got that result, but whatever.

The assumption is that the six downvotes came from the only six people who actually preferred one option over the other, and everyone else upvoted both of them because they had no preference.

Okay, I get it when you put it that way.

A way to avoid this would be "upvote to rename to Shocking/, downvote to keep as ShockingMoments/". Dunno if that would be too confusing or not.

Maybe that would work, but as I said, the currently hooked crowner is the last one I'm making for this thread. I haven't even invested much time in this thread; my current project is the Literary Agent Hypothesis thread, and there's been a hiatus because I haven't been feeling good lately.^note The temperature suddenly went from below freezing to above freezing a day or two before Christmas Eve and stayed that way, and that's been messing with my allergies.

All right, I'm going to start cleaning out the HSQ redirect. I should be able to get them all today. Is it okay if I purge all of them?

Well, I'll leave the YMMV's in the redirect alone for now, given that I'm kinda bored of dewicking right now, but I've dewicked exactly 201 HSQ-using articles today.

Alright, I can now say that, as of January 28th, 2020, there are now 0 wicks of the HSQ redirect.

I thought there was consensus to keep Main.HSQ as a redirect to Main.Holy Shit Quotient.

I requested to delete Main/HSQ. Just for Fun/HSQ is still alive and kicking.

Well, we voted to keep the redirect, since that's what post #2 said to do. That's what people voted on.

Time to recreate as a JFF redirect. On it.

Edit: Done. It redirects to the JFF page now...but what about the acronym's JFF version? Are we keeping that too?

I'm fine with ultimately cutting Main.HSQ and Main.Holy Shit Quotient once dewicking is done if need be, but I just want to know if the game plan's been changed.
