It's a somewhat amusing lampshade, so Keep Until Better Image Suggested.

Keet cleanupI think the "last seen in Banjo-Kazooie" makes the current clear enough, and I'm not sure how else to differentiate this from Put on a Bus
PSA: a cat is not a dog"Last seen in Banjo-Kazooie" makes it clear this is not a in-universe thing, but rather a meta joke. It fits with the trope.
The real problem is that there's nothing to specify that the image is from the sequel since Banjo-Tooie doesn't have a page of its own, meaning you can't link to it. You'd probably need the caption for that.

Banjo-Tooie works as a redirect, though. That works just as good.
Keep Until Better Image Suggested.
Just because the caption is doing some of the work doesn't mean the image itself is useless. (See the "Not Actually JAFAAC" section on Just a Face and a Caption.) There are visual elements here, such as the milk carton, that help clarify the lampshade.
Keep until better image suggested.

Here's a somewhat related example, doesn't exactly 'show' the Trope but said character mentioned didn’t appear again after dragon ball.
Your receipt. You can keep the freakin' change.
That requires the reader to be familiar with Dragon Ball. With the "five years ago" line, this scene could just as easily be picking up after a Time Skip, for instance.
Keep Until Better Image Suggested. I can't imagine this trope being illustrated in a single static image with no text, and as far as lampshades go, the current is fine.

I have no idea who this character is, and there's nothing to indicate that this character isn't simply missing in-universe. Caption doesn't help either.
