The trailer shows him waking up in a coffin surrounded by salt/ash remains, including one of Deogracias - so it looks like he just slept his death off and is now in the same place that built upon Cvstodia's corpse.
Considering that Ending C - presumably a canon one - has him outright destroy the High Wills, it does beg a question what happened here.
Don’t forget what else was shown in Ending C. It pretty much screamed Sequel Hook.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThe important thing about that video is that we have a release date: August 24.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."Picked up the hammer, because monkey brain wants big number. Haven't really used the charge attack or the down swing much, but the wide arc it has on the basic swing is invaluable. Also, I'm increasingly more partial to the idea of just beating the stuffing out of someone with a giant censer.
Speaking of which, RIP giant censer in the Mother of Mothers. RIP Mother of Mothers, in fact. I dread to see what's on the other side of the Sea of Ink.
A lot of fetch quests, too, and quite a few of them involve doing/collecting a five of something. Five doves, five candles, (incidentally) five Penitents to beat up, presumably five lullaby pieces.
It's a good time, although I do hope we'll get a word as to how the Miracle is even around to begin with, considering that we're going with the Wounds of Eventide ending, i.e. killing the High Wills to death. Then again, the Miracle gets around and those three probably just appropriated the thing rather than create it.
RIP Crisanta; killed in the very intro. Speaking of intros, I wish they kept the old scratchy style of 1's cutscenes.

There was actually an interesting contradiction re: the Miracle people noticed in the High Wills' Motive Rant. They say they created the Miracle, but they also say that The Path of Ancient Processions, which is older than they are, was created by the Miracle. So either the writer of the scene slipped up, the Wills are off their nut (...to be fair, they are) or something else fishy is going on.
Been replaying Blasphemous 1.
The Slide Attack is busted. You can trivialize most melee enemies in the game with it (chiefly Sisters of the Charred Visage), and even if you don't trigger the Execution, it still does a lot of damage and covers a lot of ground. I also found a newfound appreciation for the Down Plunge Attack; it actually does a lot of damage if you can aim it. (if you get it immediately after visiting Albero, you can use it to one-hit the Crucified enemies that normally take six-seven hits to go)
Veridiales to the Forsaken Hamlet remains extremely good for a starting Prayer, it's honestly not even a contest (especially since a lot of the better Prayers are much more expensive and can be straight unusable early on). Embarrassingly, I only just found out you can use them to trivialize Sagittal Martyrs if the placement is right.
Pelican Effigy is bonkers. Get it first thing after you get Three Gnarled Tongues. I also recommend backtracking to the Holy Line after you get Weight of Sin and upgrading your Bile Flasks immediately with the Quicksilver found in Petrous; the starting Flasks are plain too weak and although you only get one for Mercy Dreams, it will cover your entire healthbar.

I'm looking forward to seeing new character and enemy designs. The first game had some really painfully awesome-looking characters and monsters, so I'm hoping the sequel also doesn't disappoint.
