Yeah I'm really glad they dropped the "Legacy" from the title. I certainly feel it's gonna live up to the legacy of the character and that's important, but putting the word front and center like that feels too backwards-looking.
You are not alone.Well, officially, the 78 film is Superman: The Movie, and the serial is just that: a serial. This is the first full-length feature film to simply be titled "Superman".
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThis movie is going for a lot of characters, and I think it's a good direction to take.
The casting for this movie really is top notch, though and not just for the big parts. Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen are near perfect.
Other supers we know are appearing are Metamorpho, The Engineer, Supergirl (and arguably Rick Flag, SR if you want to be technical).

It's for the setting. "Superheroes are a thing, and Clark's the new kid on the block." Seems to be the setup. So to sell that they do need a decent number of pre-established heroes running around.
This is already established with Gunn's previous DC works; as The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker and Creature Commandos shows people don't find superpowered costumed vigilantes or villains too out of the ordinary.
All of those also balance large casts fairly well so I'm not too worried about thwm overstuffing it. I trust Gunn knows what he's doing.
Supergirl's inclusion does make me raise an eyebrow though. Cameo in the stinger?

You are not alone. The ending scene just being Clark going into Bibbo's, meeting up with Bruce for some coffee, talking about what happened.
I love Clark's look, and the fact Krypto is being embraced in a movie that does look serious. Also love how people talk about Guy Gardner's bowl cut.
My AO3
While it is comic-accurate, it's still hilarious to look at. It didn't do Noah Schnapp any favors, it looks even funnier on Nathan Fillion. At least Guy's getting the spotlight this time. It's usually either John or Hal. Him also nonchalantly walling out the hecklers w/o even looking at them also captures Guy's character well.

Set! Avenge! "Henshin." Black General! Bujin Sword! Ready, Fight!I'll admit that I did not realise until reading this forum that the fellow firing a green beam was meant to be a Lantern; I'd initially guessed that it was Lex Luthor wearing a wig, using a kryptonite ring of some sort.
(It helps that I didn't get a good look at what was being done with the green beam, or the actor; just that something was being beamed.)
My Games and Asset PacksAfter seeing it, I wondered about the wisdom of the trailer's first shots portraying a Superman as bloodied and beaten up, fearing that it made him look weak. At the same time, though, it—and everything else in the trailer—did make me want to know what was going on, which is what a trailer's supposed to do. And we did get the shot of him saving the little girl.
I'm down for all the casting, especially Lois and Luthor, though I'm still not entirely sure about Corenswet as Superman/Clark (and Clark's hair looked ridiculous in some shots, and fine in others). Have to wait and see.

Huh, know what I just realized?
This will actually be the first movie ever to just be titled "Superman". Kinda wild to think about, right?
