Honest Trailer this week covers the Best Picture nominees -
So since the Oscars are tomorrow, I might as well go over each of the categories and see who I want to win. I'd like to see you guys do the same thing.
- Best Picture: I'm rooting for Jojo Rabbit to win because it's a comedy going up against all these serious movies.
- Best Director: Sam Mendes for 1917 because it takes a great vision to make a very-few-shot movie work as well as it does.
- Best Actor: Adam Driver as the Marriage Story husband was great, but let's be real, this is going to be Joker's time to shine with Joaquin Phoenix.
- Best Actress: Charlize Theron in Bombshell because my family watches Fox News religiously and she looks so much like Megyn Kelly in this movie that I legitimately thought it was her.
- Best Supporting Actor: Brad Pitt in Once Upon a Time because from what I heard, he's a huge highlight of that movie.
- Best Supporting Actress: Scarlett Johansson for Jojo Rabbit. I think she'll win either this one or Best Actress so this is just going to be an option for both.
- Best Original Screenplay: Knives Out is so damn good and witty, and it deserves more nominations than just this one.
- Best Adapted Screenplay: I feel like Little Women should get something, so it might as well be for here.
- Best Animated Feature: I have heard nothing but good things about Klaus, so that's the one I'm going to support.
- Best International Feature Film: If Parasite wins nothing, it'll definitely get the win in this category.
- Best Documentary Feature: I'm going to base my decisions for documentaries and shorts on what they're about. The Cave, while sparse on information, is very fascinating since it's about a risky operation in a cave during the Syrian war.
- Best Documentary Short Subject: None of the short subject documentaries have much information on them but the one that sticks out to me is Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (If You're a Girl) because that's a funny title.
- Best Live Action Short: Brotherhood seems the most interesting, since it's about a guy who's suspicious that his son is a member of ISIS.
- Best Animated Short: Hair Love is very cute and wholesome.
- Best Original Score: There are two parts of Joker that make it go from good to one of the best comic book movies: Joaquin Phoenix himself and the repetitive score that makes you feel like you're going insane.
- Best Original Song: (I'm Gonna) Love Me Again from Rocketman because this movie is a lot better than the Freddie Mercury biopic from last year.
- Best Sound Editing: The Rise of Skywalker because it'll be hilarious to see one of the worst Star Wars movies win an Oscar for something.
- Best Sound Mixing: I feel like Ad Astra will get a win just because it's a sci-fi movie and those are usually the best when it comes to sound design.
- Best Production Design: Either Joker or Parasite because they're both masters at oppressive atmosphere when it comes to setting.
- Best Cinematography: Of all the great movies that only got one nomination when they should have gotten more this year, The Lighthouse was the biggest offender.
- Best Makeup: I'm bringing up Bombshell again because all the actors look like who they're supposed to be.
- Best Costume Design: Victorian dresses always seem to get the attention when it comes to this category, so Little Women by default.
- Best Film Editing: I'll have to give it to The Irishman for making a long-ass movie not feel like a long-ass movie.
- Best Visual Effects: Avengers: Endgame sort of needs that nod since it's now the highest-grossing movie of all time.
Opening number was great.
... wait, Tom Hanks is the supporting actor in the Mr. Rogers movie? Wtf.
Okay, not going to lie. The audience love for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood makes me root against it.

Good news, Hair Love and Parasite won Best Animated Short and Best Original Screenplay respectively. (Was banking on Knives Out, but I guess Parasite needs the win more?)

Whooo Taika scores the win.
Didn't know Jojo Rabbit was an adapted screenplay though, neat.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Anything that wins Screenplay of course has a good chance at winning Picture. Those two would be good choices.
Holy shit, Parasite actually won the Screenplay Oscar?! Damn!
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Damn, it looks like the opening musical number was lit! Janelle Monae is awesome and she had backup dancers dressed like the villagers from Midsommer and the Joker and Dolemite.
Ford vs Ferrari is winning a lot more technical awards than I thought it would. Not that that’s a bad thing.
And 1917 won Best Cinematography, as it deserved.
Well, I must say, I did not expect Cats of all things to show up on the Oscars.
It's been 3000 years…I sure hope that shot of Palpatine exploding wasn't a spoiler.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Well its an extremely major moment in the film.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."And Parasite wins Best International Feature Film, surprising no one.
It's been 3000 years…So it likely won't win Best Picture then?

Joker wins Best Original Score.
And Rocketman won best original song!
I mean, I haven't seen Skywalker but "the bad guy dies" barely feels like a spoiler.
