[up][up] Kinda felt that that level of surgical advancement was a copout. And yeah I can easily see Riz being gay for Tem.

[up] Is it though?

This kind of surgery is rare but not unheard of.

I mean, yeah, it exists but it’s nowhere near usual.

Hey, in a world where one moment of lapsed concentration can result in a limb being ripped off, making reattachment surgery a priority in medical advancement is a given.

By curiosity I checked out the French dub… It’s pretty good overall, but with two major weak points − Legoshi and Haru. Legoshi especially seems to mistake "timid and subdued" with "emotionless and robotic", and that really hurts some scenes. Haru’s VA also sounds like she’s just reading her script. Louis is excellent though, just the right mix of confidence and haughtiness.

New episode out. A leopard gets closer to a sheep, Legosi learns how to drive faces into walls, Juno hangs out with Haru, and Louis finds himself a drinking buddy. I dig Louis’ and Ibuki’s relationship a lot, especially with Ibuki revealing he was also once a mere piece of meat.

Kinda funny, in a morbid way, how those mice stay so chipper while castrating a crocodile.

If Riz and Tem's relationship was full of gay subtext, this episode was full of lesbian subtext, both between Sheila and Peach and between Juno and Haru.

On a different note: I just read that Sanu the pelican supposed to be a teenager, in the same age group as Haru and Louis. Because of his wrinkly face and mature voice, I thougth he was a faculty member at Cherryton, running the drama club and taking care of the teenage members.

Easy mistake to make. He looks like a stereotypical middle aged man in the face.

S2E9: Legosi finally gets to chat with Louis. Would be interesting to see how the chemical reaction between Legosi, as a vigilante-therapist, and Louis, as an underworld gang boss, sparks in the pursuit of justice. Riz is certainly getting pissed off and it’s not unlikely that his bottled up rage might burst. Though the show is definitely veering towards a redemption story for the bear... Remind me, will the story wrap up this season or will I have to read the manga to get to the ending?

I imagine they'll go through the entire manga since it's done now.

The anime is only about halfway through the story, so that will take at least another season.

S2E10: Pina ends up making Riz and Legosi throw hands. Hands with sharp, sharp claws. It’s sad to see Riz in severe denial, he could certainly use some panda-therapy.

S2E11: Huh, I wonder why the carnivores don’t use bugs as food, in general. Seems like a good compromise for the meat-eating.

Legosi in a dress is capital-H hilarious.

Yeah I doubt Pina and Louis are dead. Looking forward to the big fight.

Just read volume 15, focused on the investigation on Melon and his taking over the Lion Gang. I’d comment that none of this makes any biological sense, buuut we’re talking about humanoid animals to begin with, so yeah. evil grin

What surprised me more (or maybe not that much) was how easily Legoshi was manipulated there. Hell, Melon didn’t even need to manipulate him, that dumb wolf just threw himself into his jaws. But that gave us a flashback on Legoshi’s mom, so why not. tongue

Oh, and there’s finally mentions of homosexuality being a thing, although it’s not the focus. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of that female Jackal CEO, honestly, but I guess she’ll be a one-off character.

Louis's facial expressions when he sees Legosi in the dress were fucking great XD I think that's the first time he's ever been really caught so flat-footed.

Even he has his limits to the insanity Legosi engages in. He just finally reached it.

Yeah that scene was hilarious. Especially with Ibuki in the background thinking he doesn’t wanna judge Louis’ tastes in women.

I like how the end credits scene - Ibuki driving Louis somewhere - is suddenly given context in Episode 11. I also looked at the subtitles for the lyrics of the end credits song - and while it's sung from Ibuki's POV about his feelings toward Louis, it's also very applicable to Legoshi's feelings toward Haru.

Episode 12: We start with the ED, so you know tragedy awaits. Poor Ibuki.

I would honestly be annoyed at this ending if I didn’t know that the manga doesn’t end there. So if we take it as the ending of an arc... it was neat. Not as much punching as I would have hoped but Louis letting Legosi eat his leg, and feral Legosi were badass.

Curious on what a season 3 would entail, though... Legosi as a full-time apprentice for the panda? Or maybe we get to see him tie the knot with Haru? Oh, I forget the Beastars business, they won’t name Legosi the Beastar so maybe that will the core issue. Hmm.
