FYI, the example references the page image, so that should be changed if the image is pulled.
Keet cleanupI'm leaning toward not having an image. Gag Sub is easier to illustrate because of onscreen text, while Gag Dub is an audio-related trope.
Edit: Also, I think the suggestion looks more an example of Gag Sub.

My issue, too. How do we know these images aren't just a Gag Sub?
It still relies heavily on subtitles, even though the trope is about audio, while a separate trope covers subtitles. In fact, subtitles aren't even needed for this trope.
I feel like this is a similar case to what got Fake American BUPKIS'd, since audio (the imitation of accents in that trope's case) is a factor with that trope, while this actually is an audio trope.
Edit: I thought about it a bit more and I'm voting BUPKIS for this as well (especially since the previous thread shows I'm not the first person to do so), since adding subtitles would make the image too similar to a Gag Sub example, while omitting them would result in JAFAAC.

I got a rock for Halloween.Bumping because ~Tropers/{{2ndBro}} posted this suggestion in the Suggestion thread:
I could support BUPKIS, however, I think this suggestion is a bit more illustrative than most (since he does refer to them as "those Japanese words", implying this is a non-Japanese dub of a Japanese work). Thoughts?

Still, nobody is really addressing what Gaston and I are actually saying.
To illustrate this trope, subs are needed.
But with subs, the image becomes no different from Gag Sub. There's literally no way for a casual reader to know that the scene is of a dub.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall

~Omeyrolx added this image, ignoring the note saying to start an Image Pickin' thread. The thread
that removed the previous image contained multiple BUPKIS votes, since subtitles would be hard to distinguish from a Gag Sub.
