Character Page Cleanup

Decided to revise the draft for Black Mask's hypothetical character page to remove anything that was a spoiler from the description, the Major Targets page is starting to get close to the character limit again and I don't feel like the page needs to be further split in half again.

I still think the pages should be kept separate, with the "Late-Game Antagonists" getting their own page.

Characters.Zoofights is just...I don't know where to begin. We got ZCEs, we got spoiler-tagging violations, and we got spoiler-tagged ZCEs!

And most of the characters have no descriptions. I think there are even some without tropes, just the name of the character and nothing else. It's hard to tell, because the characters don't have individual folders. So maybe they're titles or something weird.

This is definitely going to require people familiar with the work to sort out.

I stumbled upon A House of Many Doors, and it’s a disaster. Characters with no tropes, ZCEs everywhere, and even locations being troped as characters. I don’t know the work, so I can’t do anything about it, but it does seem to stem from one edit in particular.

Oh, what do you know, only two edits, in short succession, both on that one page. Not at all suspicious.

Hmm, I should also invite ~Perfect Paradox, who has done most of the work on the page. (Kirkenoff was the one to jump out at me, but they aren't the only editor of concern...)

Also, is it fair for me to say that Needs Wiki Magic Love being placed on a Characters page is not a good sign?

Nope ~

It's not inherently wrong, but if the person making the page places that sort of thing on it, that's a sign that they aren't willing to put in all the work that they should be putting in.

Ton of Zero Context Examples? Check. Indentation/side comments? Check. Tropes joined with a slash? Check!

The God Eater Other Media character page is just names, pics & voice actors with 0 tropes or descriptions. Cutlist?

We should give people a chance to flesh it out first.

It was created two and a half years ago and hasn't been edited in five months, how long is long enough?? Empty character entries are no different than zero context examples but if they are commented out, which I usually do for such entries, it would leave the page blank.

If it's created that long ago, go ahead and cutlist.

On another issue, the ID-0 Character page has a note at the top that it is work in progress. My question is that as it looks pretty good to me should this note be deleted to comply with the "Aim For A Final Draft Appearance" guideline (and shouldn't work in progress stuff be on a Sandbox anyway)?

Yeah, delete the note. As you said, a note like that probably shouldn't be on there anyway, and the page actually looks pretty good.

Can I request feedback on the page I made and still edit every so often (though others are involved too)?

Outside Xbox is for the Oxventure, the D&D series that group does. I've tried noting that any tropes about the cast in real life / their videos should go on the main page.

While I generally try to stay away from real life stuff, what do you mean by "tropes about the cast in real life" as there are rules against troping real life people, specifically (from the Real Life People Clean-Up thread) "The article for the person him/herself should avoid tropes about them as a person. It should only discuss tropes appearing in (a) their own work — speeches, books, whatever; (b) tropes appearing in fiction where they feature as a character."

sorry, bloody syntax.

I didn't mean troping the real life people in the cast, I meant troping them as they appear in the videos exaggerated for comedy, I.e. Jane is the Mad Scientist and Token Evil Teammate, Mike is a Mad Bomber... Obviously not real life!

Edit: for further clarification, the character page is purely for the D&D series, as it's become the biggest thing for the group in terms of projects.

As for the page itself it looks okay from a quick glance but there are some spoiler tag issues (it is against spoiler policy to have tags in the name headers and description section, as are folders marked spoiler character and such - putting a title is generally preferred if the name is a spoiler. Totally spoilered entries are also at least frowned upon if not also against policy - I am not sure which). Also characters without any tropes listed should be expanded, or at least hidden until they get tropes. This is a trope wiki after all, that is the entire point of the site.

Also, I saw an instance of tropes joined with a slash, as well as sinkholes, more prominently in I Know Karate examples! Took care of what I was able to see during TRS cleanup, though there may be more.
