There is a moratorium on merging character pages, so don't ask for that.
Character pages are a large chunk of the wiki, but they're often filled with problems that don't get resolved. These problems include:
- Zero Context Examples
- Indentation problems, including bulleting tropes under supertropes or tropeslashing
- Spoiler tag misuse
- A lack of alphabetization
- Empty character folders
- Plagiarized character descriptions
- Misused tropes, or tropes that don't belong on character pages
- Broken or incorrect formatting
- References to Dummied Out content for video game characters.
- YMMV / Trivia trope mentions
Per How to Create a Character Page, character pages should only include tropes that describe the characters. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, Unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly).
If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask about that at Are These Character Tropes
.
All characters must have at least one contextualized trope for their section or folder to be visible. If you find a character that has no contextualized tropes present, comment out the entire section and add this tag:

Sorry about that. Managed to salvage it.
- Defrosting Ice Queen: Initially something of an Agent Scully, Shanna was the self-proclaimed 'normal' of the group who lived in denial about her deeply-repressed imagination and the truth about her own fannish tendencies. Over the course of the strip, her Character Development led to her becoming a Defrosting Ice Queen in this regard.
So I'm not sure how many people would be interested/willing to help out, but I recently created a sandbox to spruce up the Mystery Skulls Animated characters page and clean out ZCE/misuse, and I'd really appreciate help because this is a long-ass page.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Found one for the Looney Tunes Webtoon Characters. Wouldn't that need a bit of cleanup?
Call me "Pursuer of the Obscure". Also, funny quote: "A little eager on that buzzer, aren't we?"Ravages of Time subpages have ZCEs, tropes on second-level bullets, YMMV things, and violations of Handling Spoilers.
Okay I just noticed that Hamtaro and Danganronpa V3 — Female Students both have character pages where they show a different character in their image not from that show. For example, Maxwell from Hamtaro has the Maxwell from Scribblenauts and Angie Yonaga in Danganronpa instead shows a picture of a real life girl, presumably someone that has the same name as her. What's the meaning for this? I wasn't able to find any history changes for either of them.
Bug

Massive number of character folders that have no tropes, just "Tropes here". I'm not familiar with the work - is it okay to just chop the empty folders entirely? I'm also wondering if there would be enough left to justify folders at all?
We normally comment out empty folders, but you're right that we can't keep them as-is.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.Empty folders are the devil. Are they against the rules? They should be against the rules. The only time I think they're acceptable is if the folder contains a link to a proper page for the character.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallSuper Hero Bowl is currently screwed, there’s nothing in terms of actual troping and instead links to the works the characters are from.

SKREEEEEEEONK!Game Grumps has so many basically-empty character folders, many of which are just real life players without any real characterization. Permission to zap them?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Granted, some creators turn their pets into "characters". A good example is Jenna Marbles, because her pets were given specific personalities and fans ran with those personalities. I don't think the Grumps count here.

I assume the tropes may be related to things like "Cat Grumps" and the way they talk about their pets in bits. I know they've given Dan's dog a distinct voice in recent episodes too.
So, the Watchmen character sheets are in a weird position, for some reason, every character is given a folder for each individual work, which isn’t really practical as DC continues to expand the Watchmen brand into a fully-fledged franchise, so here’s my reorganization,
- Superheroes
- Law Enforcement and Government note
- Seventh Kavalry note
- Other Characters
- Watchmen (2009)
Are these pages even worth salvaging?
Hades Project Zeorymer, Panzer World Galient, Giant Gorg, Osamake...
...note that all these pages are made by troper ShinnBidan
Nintama Rantarou has examples that aren't alphabetized, plus some ZCE's that are commented out by another troper.
Culprit of the two issues has already been suspended.

Darn, couldn't you have at least given me the chance to move the one trope with context to the work page (or done it yourself) before cutlisting it?
