This is a thread to discuss those Administrivia pages in need of a little updating- you know the ones. The ones that still cite rules we've long since changed, or the ones that don't properly cite our current standards. Some of them are even scattered in Main/!
So, this is the place to take those pages and fix them up with the help of the community.
For a list of current projects, see Outdated Pages.

Hey, you guys think we're ready to launch Sandbox. How To Create And Launch TLP Drafts?
Looks ready to me
It's missing a foldercontrol, and in "How To Launch Your Draft", there's a grammar error for #1 (missing opening quote), and it is implied that you can use hyphens in the article title. Don't use hyphens.
So as suggested a while ago I want to update First-Person Writing to reference when it's okay to use first person:
"However, not every usage of first-person writing is a break of policy. It's acceptable in these circumstances:
- When you're writing a self-demonstrating article and are talking as the article itself. This is common with certain indexes and image captions. Similarly, it's used on self-demonstrating character pages, where you're writing as the character talking to the audience.
- Some pages specifically allow first-person writing, such as certain parts of Darth Wiki and Sugar Wiki.
- On your own troper page, and on other tropers' troper walls.
The important thing to keep in mind is that first-person writing is used to make the articles all about the person writing, rather than the tropes and the media we're discussing here. Using it as a description/caption gag or in designated areas is acceptable as long as you confine it to those areas."
If there's any scenario I'm missing lemme know. I just want to add this because some people seem to think that literally any use of "I, Me, My, etc." is against the rules even if it's not literally first-person writing the way we define it.
Also, I guess I'll go ahead and launch Administrivia. How To Create And Launch TLP Drafts- unless we need a mod's permission first. Yeah, better wait.

I agree with expanding First-Person Writing to say when it's acceptable to use it.
Also agreeing.
Is my draft looking good or should I rewrite it before expanding the page?
Looks fine to me.
I don't know how I neglected to say this before, but the "On your own troper page, and on other tropers' troper walls" bullet point for the list of exceptions should probably explicitly state that tropers can write in first person on their own troper walls in addition to others' troper walls. Maybe I'm overthinking this because I'm tired, but it just sounded kind of unclear when I looked at the Administrivia page after those parts were added.

The pictures on Images in Wiki Pages are stretched across the page and it looks really bad.
I can tweak it.
Honestly sounds like an IP issue.

I think there's something screwy with those pics. I'll try replacing them with something else and see what happens...gimme a few minutes to catch up some other stuff.
EDIT: Okay, something's definitely screwy. I swapped in a new pic, and it looks fine in preview, but when I saved the page it did the same thing to the pics that aren't quoterighted. I'll mention it to the admins.

Red Link belongs in Administrivia, doesn't it? Yes, it happens on other wikis too, but the page also discusses our particular policy on them.
I half feel like we've brought this up before and I just forgot...?

I previously mentioned Blue Link alongside Red Link, since both only refer to TV Tropes.

A couple of days ago, I asked on ATT about whether or not a TLP draft was Up for Grabs because the sponsor couldn't work on it for 2 months due to being currently suspended. While my question was answered, I think the page should be updated to address drafts of temporarily suspended sponsors.
Just noticed that. It's pretty funny to imagine that actually happening. I support that part being removed.

Also, the bit about not adding it to already published wiki articles is a bit random because...has that ever happened?
Dunno, but that line's been there since as far back as the Wayback Machine can remember, and the related search
from about that same time doesn't show any kind of issue with the thing being wicked in the wrong places.
That's really bizarre. It's like an artifact. I almost don't want to remove it but I also do really want to remove it.
So...are we going to remove the "don't add this to already published wiki articles" part from Up for Grabs? The evidence points to it being unnecessary, and "it's funny" isn't a good reason to keep completely useless information on policy pages.
Maybe we should merge Main.Camel Case and Administrivia.Camel Case with the latter being the "main" page and the former a redirect?
