NVM, double post.

Given the movie was a minor subplot already, I don't expect a full episode follow-up but a brief gag is certainly possible.
I mean, it wasn't even in the comics. It was just an implication, not an actual depiction of it happening.
I'm guessing Black Noir (assuming he recovers), won't jam his thumb up Hughie's ass either. 99% sure.
Isn't Homelander a homophobe in the comics?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."...kind of?
But he's also implied to be a Depraved Bisexual.
comics!Homelander seems to operate on the theory that in a same-sex relationship the top is totes not gay, but the bottom is. Which IIRC seemed to be the view in ancient Greek and Roman societies too.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Okay some news.
Season 3 will begin filming in early 2021. And the script of the first episode is titled Payback, revealing that Soldier Boy's (and comic Stormfront) team will be the focus of the episode, being about introducing the members of the team as the "Seven before the Seven" and the overall history of the shows setting.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So the Not-Captain America worked with a literal nazi. I wonder how they're going to explore that? EDIT: Nevermind, I misread, that was only in the comics

Children of Dievas - my webcomic about the Northern CrusadesOther interesting details, Homelander is not gonna rape Soulja Boy. They are cutting that out entirely.
And also we are finally getting a Herogasm this season. Man thats gonna be brutal.
Granted since the Payback episode is apparently taking place before the first 2 seasons, they could have Stormfront as a member of the team back then.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Although presumably (depending on just how far we've flashed back) she would be "Liberty" instead of Stormfront then.
(thank you for the correction.)

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Just Liberty.
Also, based on what they mentioned in the series about Vought "moving her around", I assume she changed her identity a few more times before showing up as Stormfront.
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Everything I see about that Kripke dude makes me like him less and less. But I guess it does make sense he'd be attracted to something like The Boys if he already had such a poor understanding of superheroes.
My stories on AO3.Funny how he considers soldiers inherently better. When answering to a higher power is not automatically any better if the higher powers are corrupt as hell, which most of the time they are
Edit: Yeah, I just pulled out nonsense here, sorry. Made more clear what I meant

The Warrior PrincessHis point is that soldiers have established rules they have to follow and higher powers they have to answer to while superheroes are only answerable to themselves.
Wait I don’t think Kripke said the thing about the soldiers, that was someone else.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."To Be Lawful or Good is a trope for a reason. Just because someone else calls the shots on what soldiers do, doesn't makes them automatically any better than an independent party....

The Warrior PrincessJust Following Orders was used as an excuse using the Same logic.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Larry Hama said that. I just pointed out that he wasn't the only one to say so when describing the fascist underpinnings (and it's worth noting Hama was an EOD technician in Vietnam).

Wasn't Superman originally conceived as basically a giant middle finger to Nazi ideology? I won't deny the allegory in this season has been pretty well-done, a lot of the time even skewing disturbingly close to reality. But this idea that super-heroes are inherently fascist seems an awful take, especially since half of the show seems to be a DeconReconSwitch towards that sort of cynicism

How so?
Mostly with Butcher. Throughout the series we've seen him go from this cynical asshole who thinks all supes are inherently evil, to coming around to working with supes to take down Vought. And this culminates in the end of Season 2 when he changes his mind and does not double cross Rebecca and Ryan, and actively steps in to protect Ryan despite his initial misgivings about him. Maybe not a complete DeconReconSwitch, but it's strange that the writers seem to completely agree with Butcher even though in the show they seem to want to highlight how much of an asshole he is and that we shouldnt agree with his philosophy.
I mean, there's a difference between hating "supes" as... an "ethnic group", let's call it, and hating superheroes/vigilantes, as in, a "job".

They already did a Justice League/Whedon reference this season, we probably wont see one again.
Like I don't expect to see another Endgame reference either in season 3.
